What is DiplomacyCraft?
▶ DiplomacyCraft is a new kind of Minecraft server that introduces a revolutionary new land-claim system. This system, based around building nations, promotes competition and more in-depth strategy, while also providing enough stability for players to build massive empires. Whether you're a super competitive world conquerer or a casual who just wants to build, there's a place for you.
▶ Unlike towny and factions, nations in DiplomacyCraft can conquer an unlimited amount of land, allowing for much more freedom and land-claim strategy.
▶ Nations are fully customizable: Names, chat prefixes, nation class/rank names, and class/rank permissions can all be modified to fit whatever theme/structure you want.
▶ This server is Semi-Hardcore; players have a limited number of lives, and running out will result in a temporary ban. Additionally, there is minimal "assistance" which means there are no warps, no /sethomes, and no teleporting other than a 1-time-use teleport.
▶ The world is completely custom made. There are four large continents surrounded by ocean. If you mine down to the bottom of the world, there's an entire subworld to go mining in. If you mine even further down, you will eventually reach the nether.
▶ The server is player-run. This means that there is minimal admin intervention, and players do what they want. In general, as long as you are not hacking or cheating (and not being offensive in chat), you have the freedom to do whatever you want.
My Inspiration and Vision
My inspiration to create DiplomacyCraft arose from playing on many different kinds of servers for many, many years, and always finding flaws that limit what multiplayer Minecraft could be. I felt that players weren't getting the multiplayer gameplay they deserved. The idea behind DiplomacyCraft was to take the best of what I've seen and make it even better. I'm constantly looking for ways to improve the server, and for new features to add. I have tons of ideas that I am working hard to add down the road, and I will not settle for anything less than the best player experience possible!
Quick update: A LOT has changed over the past few months, here are the most recent major changes.
First, the enchanting system has been once again revamped. XP has been completely removed from the game, and enchantment tables are effectively useless.
Enchantments are now obtained via custom crafting recipes that require a more diverse set of resources, making technological advancement more interesting and less grind-based.
- There are several new items that specialize in specific enchantments, such as chisels for fortune, saws for silk touch, and hunting knives for looting.
- Regular protection now only protects against melee, and armor can now have all for protection types at once.
- Grenades have been added to the game, making blast protection more useful
- Mobs spawn with more powerful gear, but always drop their gear when you kill them. Skeletons can have swords, and wither skeletons can have bows.
- Mob drop system revamped in tandem with looting; almost all animals can drop bones, leather, and meat
- Tool blades can be sharpened to increase their enchantment level (ex: sharpened pickaxe = more efficiency, sharpened sword = more sharpness)
- All iron, gold, and netherite have a purity level (1-10) which determines the level of unbreaking that can be obtained when it is used to craft an item.
- Certain items will have enchantments by default. For example, all diamond gear has Unbreaking III. Your items have been automatically updated, so even if your diamond hoe from several months ago didn't have unbreaking, it will now.
Second, a new in-game map viewable via /map has been added. It displays nearby nation territories and territories that are under attack. It is far more optimized than the old system, practically lag free.
Lastly, a lot of minor changes have been made to reduce lag, improving the experience for all players!

- Nether portals have been disabled. The nether is accessed by mining to the bottom of the subworld.
- Guards have been added. There are 9 different kinds of guards, each with different purposes. Guards defend your territory while offline.
- Teleporters have been added as a means of faster transportation.
