So Is the server still up and running? I was considering applying. Super old Rp'er and server vet here looking for something to do in between my work schedule and hobbies.

Server is still running normally! I was just referring to my own personal account login troubles. All the other members can login normally.
In that case, I will apply. Maybe I can retain some nostalgia through this server from when I played commonly 6-7 years ago.
I have questions though. What is the world size boundaries at the moment?
Can I rename myself in game using console commands/ do you have a plugin or mod for that? or is the server totally vanilla?
How do i report greifing and or meta-gaming? etc etc.
Are their planned races? Lore? Dungeons? Monsters? ETC ETC
I know I have other questions.... cannot seem to remember them all at the moment...

The rules are simple, we kill the bat---er I mean...respect everyone and everything.
(I will create something loose to base how I arrive in such a place.)
It was a dark, and cool night in the town of Aeon. The kind that makes your bones feel old, and your mind tired. Seven (My char) was returning to the town inn after a day of hunting the wild game in the area. The kindly barman that owned the inn, gave Seven free room and board so long as he kept successful with his hunting, and put food in the cellar.
*The door creaked open as Seven shuffled into the bar with his newest kill slung over his shoulder, some of the regulars nodded to him as he passed, others stared into their mugs and continued their banter*.
"I made off with good deer this evening..." Seven said as he stopped at the bar to greet Nomidus, the owner.
"As I can see, put it out back though and I'll have the boys come out and skin it. I know it's late but we need it done before the morn, lest the rats beset upon the corpse." Nomidus responded, stroking his gnarly beard.
Seven nodded and left to go back outside, being stopped short by a old friend at a table he failed to notice when he came in.
"Aye, and get thy self back in here, a cool mug will be waiting." retorted Gallon, smiling to his old friend.
Seven smiled back "It best well be waiting for me, you still owe me a drink over that archery contest." he replied.
"Archery contest, foggy in me memory, must have been another lad." Gallon said laughing heartily.
Seven looked fondly upon him, knowing the man to only be joking. Letting his hand rest on Gallons shoulder for a moment before heading to the door.
As Seven once again stepped outside with the deer still over shoulder, he noticed the wind picking up, and the moon now higher than he remembered, and a odd euphoria began to tingle in his mind... he shook his head and walked to the back of the inn, 'must simply be the fatigue setting in from the long hunt' he thought.
As he lain the deer carcass down near a table to be skinned, a shadow moved in the dark. Sevens eyes caught only the glimpse of a human figure around the corner of the other side of the inn.
"Gallon? Is that you? I know its dark but I don't remember asking you for help..." Seven spoke into the darkness.
The darkness gave no response.
Seven suddenly felt....a chill...not like him to feel afraid of anything, he was a beast and animal hunter after all, but this presence, and he definitely felt a presence; felt far more ominous, far more malevolent than any animal he had hunted. He paused and stared into the black, then slowly turned from where he stood and walked to the front of the inn, whilst not breaking his gaze with the other side of the walls.
After he got to the front where the lanterns lit the road and the doorway, a sense of comfort once again arose. He opened the door to the inn and his hair stood up as one final gust of air kissed the back of his neck.
Glancing over to his friend's table he did indeed spot the mug of ale waiting, but also a stranger. A man in dark brown cloak with his hood up sat next to Gallon. Gallon laughed heartily a few yards away as Seven approached.
"Shhheven! thy friend art JUST in time!" Gallon slurred, obviously at this point drunk.
Seven sat down at the table at looked at the strange man, unable to see his eyes under the hood.
"THIS man here, is shurly in jest!...he said eh was a....a what wash it again?" Gallon said has he downed the last of his mug.
"Chromamancer" the man answered unemotionally.
THASS IT! Kormadancer! I think he performs some kind of dance for ricsh nobles," Gallon stated as he swayed a little in his chair.
The man said nothing about Gallon be so abruptly wrong, and so abhorrently drunk.
Seven silently drank a bit from his mug, looking off to the side of the table; away from the strange man. But Seven could not help but feel that the strange man did not stop gazing at him. This made Seven very uncomfortable, for he is familiar with this gaze. This is the look he would give a beast he is stalking right before he loosed the arrow; the moment right before the strike. It is a animalistic primal feeling that up-rises in a man, as he is about to take another life; it shows on his face.
Seven tried to ignore the man, but he could not. Asking "So what does a Chromamancer do?"
Gallon got up from the table and swerved his way back to the bar. "Nomy! I need another round!" he said as he pounded his fist on the counter in a playful manner.
**Nomidus and Gallon then proceeded to argue on just how drunk he really was**
"It is a form of magic, manipulation of light and dark, also the perceptions of colors...and other things.." The man said somewhat softly.
"....Ahh...right...so a mage then?" Seven said as he downed the last of his ale.
"Yes........a mage....." the man replied.
Having enough of conversation Seven was about to leave the table and try to calm Gallon when the man spoke again. "Wait, before you take your leave shall we have a small toast to our new acquaintance Seven?" the man said.
"But my ale is already gone, I cannot toast with a empty glass?" Seven replied.
"Not so, I think you also may be a little intoxicated or perhaps tired? You still have ale, see?" He said as he pointed at Sevens glass. Which he swore was empty nigh a minute ago, but now had a couple of swallows left.
Seven stared into the mug, the ale looked a little darker than before.....his brow furrowed a little, but he shrugged. Maybe he was just out of it, maybe that's what all this was tonight, just evening fatigue.
The man rose his mug to Seven, and Seven rose to him saying "What was your name?" as they clinked mugs.
"Arcese.." he replied as he drank deep from the cup.
Seven also drank, and drank, and drank........then it was empty, the mug that seemed to last forever.
Seven was all so tired suddenly. "If you'll excuse me, I think I am going to retire to my quarters." he smoothly spoke.
The man nodded to him as Seven took to the stairwell. On the way up he could hear Gallon's obnoxious drunken voice fading into the background.....
The hallway was so strange, the lights on the candles flickered in Seven's eyes, the floor was covered in dancing shadows...his sight turned grey, or perhaps it was the darkness? He could not tell.
Swaying into his room he shut the door and disrobed clumsily, and fell into bed.
He fell into the deepest, darkest, quietest sleep he had ever known..
.....
....
....
The next day Seven awoke, not at the inn, nor in his bed; but in the middle of a field wearing only the modest tunic and trousers he took with him to bed. He slowly got up...blinked and rubbed his eyes...
"....Wh-what? How?...." he spoke into the breeze that flowed through the grass, carrying his words away.
*Seven was no longer in the town of Aeon, he was no longer in the lands of Lytheria. He was in the strange and unfamiliar place called the Bide.*
-----------------
How did his name become Seven? Does he 'bide' his time until he can find a way to return home?
Also on another note with the talk of plugins being added to the server. You might want to check some of these out and see if you like them, but they might not all work for your sever. Some of them may be forge only. But they are my personal favorites to when I was looking into making my own RP server after working with multiple RP server staffs and being part of the minecade staff...decided it was too much work to do alone though..
Ars magica- ( SUPER freakin cool magic mod man.... although it can be buggy on slower computers and the game can be kind of problematic when playing with this on a multiplayer server. Someone could summon a Boss creature in a town and it destroys the entire place. And while that can be seen in a roleplay light in every way. It can be a easy troll move... so if you consider it, note that it comes with additional server damage risk from toolbags.)
Twilight Forest- ( Adds a ton to the game, not a ton of game breaking possible things IMO. A well rounded addition to the minecraft world.)
Custom NPCS- ( This is my hands down favorite mod of all time. You can do so much with this mod its dumb. A server owner wants to make up a boss with it? Do it, it uses any skin from any creature in the game and any mod installed that adds creatures (Mo' Creatures works well with this.) Want to make Npcs for towns to flesh out the world? Do it. Want to make up custom currencies? Do it. Not to mention it adds a ton of items/ armor/ weapons. And they are all well balanced IMO... nothing that does like 34 hp per hit... the most is a double bladed sword that does +2 damage compared to its sword counterpart.)
Mo creatures- (Lots of new living things added to the gameworld. Interesting neutral mobs, stronger hostile mobs like the werewolf for example. Can't think of anything that I felt was game breaking here either.)
I note all these because they were my personal favorites and choices of mods for a RP server I was working on that added the most, gave the most flexibility to a creative server staff, and made little to no way for players to abuse the added game mechanics. And I tested like 30 other RPG style mods. These are the best.
In that case, I will apply. Maybe I can retain some nostalgia through this server from when I played commonly 6-7 years ago.

How did his name become Seven? Does he 'bide' his time until he can find a way to return home?
Hope you don't mind that I just kind of made my own story to represent my Rp'ing abilities.
But that was Seven. My ideal human ranger. He's a beast slayer, and at times a bounty hunter. His alignment is chaotic neutral.
Have to say - love the enthusiasm you're bringing! Let's get to answering those questions:
The boundaries are, from the central spawn position, 750 blocks every which way in a square border. I know, it sounded small when I even first suggested it but in game if you really move in one direction you'll see that there is a lot of space to do anything you need. There's a nice diversity of biomes within the area as well so it's not just all rolling hills.
You can rename yourself using a plugin. It's just simply /rename (name) and boom you're all set to go.
To report any rule breaking you can tell me in-game (or a trusted member) or post it on this forum. As of right now this isn't a concern to us because we're being reasonably selective, and being a new server our player pool is relatively small. This is why the application involves applicants to RP in scenarios instead of just giving me a character backstory. Some people are good at making stories for characters but might not fit with our RP standards. Every accepted member as shown that they are capable of good RP and following the rules. Additionally I had the pleasure of meeting most of them and I have my full trust in them. Obviously if this server expands we'll have to think of better protocols but for now all the players are trustworthy.
There will be planned events from the staff side. We'll always thinking about villains we could do, dungeons, missions, etc. There's currently one in play about the town of Glenarm being under attack by evil forces. There won't be planned races because players are free to be any appropriate/logical race they want to be since our lore doesn't specify about lands outside of Bide. You can be a dwarf, elf, human, machine, Fish-man, etc.
While your application is unorthodox we're not ones to shy away from unique ideas. That being said if any potential applicants are looking at this as an example I would recommend NOT to do this and follow the posted format unless you can provide such long length and display such good RP abilities. The application was definitely good and you clearly know your stuff. Just to be clear though, when RPing in the server make sure to use the format given - *raises his fist* Stop you! - everyone has been following it and it clears up any potential confusion during interactions if we standardize a way to communicate.

Just to let you know I did see this, I just didn't have the time to respond after doing your application. I'm going to look over this and find try to find plugin alternatives and take it from there. I do like the idea of having other monsters like werewolf because it'll give hunters something more to do and I'm all in favor of that. Thank you very much for suggesting these!
Yeah it was just my favorite mods for a RPG server and I wanted to suggest them so yours can be all you want it to be, I recommend you look into each one depthfully. Also another I failed to mention is (Lycanite's mobs)
obviously adding many many more mobs. The vast majority of them hostile, and they are quite unique. Although some of the more boss creatures may be too intense for the server...not sure. I don't remember if this one had some of the boss spawns I thought were too OP or broken. I personally wouldn't want a massive beast showing up in the middle of town for any other reason than a event planned by the staff. (Natural spawns, '''''when it comes to mobs added by mods'''' are one of my personal pet peeves.)
And about my application, thank you for accepting me even though I chose not to follow the standard Roleplay setting. And thank you for answering my questions.
But for the record, the reason I chose my own story was because something about the way the application roleplay example is written confuses me. I don't know if the English is improper or if the sentence is jumbled, but something about it made it to where I could not understand the setting of what was going on. ----Re-reading it right now, I fail to understand who I am playing...Me? the woman building the wall? the thug? and which of us is the inventor? And why am I *rolling out of the way* at the start of this acting sequence? What am I rolling from?
The app format raises too many questions for me to understand what is going on, or to answer the situation properly.

You act as "Me" or "Your character", those *rolling* things are just examples.
Exactly as coolbeans puts it - you take control and roleplay as every character involved. This provides me with the ability to see how potential players can handle multiple different roles (The aggressor, the victim, the passerby, etc). Again as coolbeans puts it, the *rolling* stuff is just examples describing the format. Although most people seem to understand the application section, I do not want to discredit your experience with it. For now I'll let the application remain the same, but I'll keep in the mind what you addressed when others might show similar confusion.
Let it be known that the character Nasherous is a local hero in Glenarm for saving me from a creeper when we were exploring a cave together. I was unaware of the monster and he heroically leaped in front of it , thus severely injuring himself. It was rough getting out of there but we all recovered. Three cheers for Nasherous!
What’s the most important rule?: Most importantly respect everyone and behave intelligently
-A woman is in the middle of constructing a wall for the town she resides in. You see two other men doing the same in the distance. She spots you and is immediately hostile towards you, the wandering stranger. First, diffuse the situation and then take it from there.
Me: Woah, woah! Take it easier there broad. Don't go actin' like a loon for no good reason.
Woman: What are you doing here?! Get out!
Me: Look here, i'm just trying to get through town to my cousin Louie's house. I'll get out of your hair...
Woman: You better not loiter you suave *******...My father and brother over there will have their eyes on you.
Me: I'll keep that in mind...*heads out of town*
-A player who is RP’ing as an inventor is working on a prototype engine in his open air workshop located in town. Another player who plays a notorious street thug starts harassing the inventor for money and machine parts. Interact with them.
Thug: *holding hand in hoodie pocket so it looks like a gun* Give me your wallet. And what's this gold thing?
Inventor: Thats just a carbo-
Thug: Put it in the bag little man. Now.
Me: *Walking down the street, hears a ruckus in Tony's workshop up on the right* Huh, I wonder what all the commotions about.. *Walks into workshop, only to find a thug harassing a man who is under the protection of your business* Hey pal. What do ya think you're doin in here, eh?
Thug: Oh no no, uh, I didn't realize this little man was under the protection of YOU GUYS!! Look i'm leaving I swear!
Me: *Follows the thug out of the workshop* Don't ever let me see you on this block again ya mook. Scram ya jabroni!

A bit on the shorter side but sufficient enough. You follow the format correctly and the rules aka no power-gaming. Just a few questionable tidbits like I wouldn't go as far as wearing a hoodie or at least calling it that (a little too modern sounding) but I get what you're trying to say. Same thing with the gun, in early industrial steampunk there would be rifles but probably nothing as compact as a handgun. Just watch out on sounding too modern when you're RPing, it's primarily fantasy medieval, and you should be good to go.
What’s the most important rule?: Respect everyone and behave intelligently.
Scene 1:
Me: Woah, woah ,woah! Calm down lady, I'm just passing by! *raising my hands to my shoulders with an innocent look*
Woman: Yeah sure you are, you better get going or else! *the woman stares at me with an evil look*
Me: Hey look I was only walking by and I saw you were building that *points to the wall* wall.
Woman: Yeah I am so what, what's it to you?
Me: Well you see I have had previous experience with my father in construction, and was going to offer you some help but I think I'll keep passing by
Woman: Oh wait no! We could do with any extra help we can get. *places her hand out toward me for a hand shake* What's your name?
Me: The names Luke ma'am, and what would be yours? *extending my arm, gripping the woman's hand, shaking it*
Woman: Just call me Daisy.
Me: Ok then, Daisy. *we both walk over to the wall and begin to work*
Woman: *points toward 2 men at another wall in the distance* Those 2 over there is my boy and my husband.
Me: *looks at where Daisy has pointed, squinting into the distance* Oh yeah, I see them.
Scene 2:
Me: *walking down the street, whistling a tune to my self*
*loud voices are heard from within a work shop*
Thug: Aye Mr. Inventor, I'm broke and need money! What parts you got there I can take? Better yet, I'll take your money too!
Inventor: Get away from dammit, you hassle me every week!
Me: *hears the commotion and walks toward the work shop to investigate* *as I walk in I see a known thug harassing the inventor*
Me: Hey, get your dirty rotten hands off that man NOW!

*I narrow my eyes against the sun. The badly-dressed woman hasn’t noticed me yet. For a time I watch her. Scrape…Thwack…Scrape….Thwack…. her trowel-work had a rhythm to it, but was lacking finesse. Obviously she was unskilled labor. The two men with her were far enough in the distance that they shimmered in and out of existence in the waves of heat rising off the dusty yellow ground.*
Woman, *startled* “Juste! Boy, you frightened me! Well what’re ya waiting for, stand up, out of the damned bushes and come ‘elp.”
*I curse under my breath, she saw me. If I were to do as she said, and reveal my height, she may be threatened. I eye the large hammer leaning on the pile of unused masonry near her. The other option is to run, but the familiar pangs of hunger egg me on and I stand.*
Me: “I mean no harm, I’m only here looking for work, I mean… I can help with the wall.”
Her: *surprised* “You’re one of them Cavinite raiders! Back off. You can’ne play me so don’t even try.”
*Her wide eyes dart towards the hammer. The bright patchwork of her makeshift dress sways in the wind.*
*I start to back up, one foot behind the other in the tall grass.*
Me: *wary* “I’m not one of them. I’m a builder, not a soldier. Please, I have a family.”
*She spits at the ground. In one swift movement she grabs the hammer*
Her: *Fookin spy ye are. Back off”
*I am getting desperate. The winter isn’t far off. I eye the dull metal of the hammer on her shoulder. I can feel my stomach tighten in anger.*
Me: “So you’d rather I starve, rather my children starve, than to give me work. You are obviously building…” *I am cut off*
Her: “I’d rather you all starve. Every last one a’ya.”
Me: “I left there for a reason. I can’t live there, I can’t live here. So what should I do? Huh? You tell me.”
Her: “Ye should fook off.”
*The two men in the distance have drawn arrows. They can see my olive skin and dark hair from all the way back there. It is past time and, again, I run away.*
2.
*Judging from its outskirts, Glenarm seems friendlier than the last town I visited. My shoes make suction noises in the ground and the deep wheel ruts of my cart join with the dozens more on the early spring road. The smells of a town fill the air. The smell of humans, feces, sulfer, and hewn wood, mix strangely after my time on the road.*
*Since leaving RiffenCavin behind for Bide, I have been feeling more fulfilled, but still, the guilt of uprooting my family for what seems to them like no good reason eats at me occasionally. Work has still eluded me here, and there, I would at least have a roof over my head. My greatest fear, come to think of it, is to slink back home and give up my freedom to that damned tyrant in exchange for a pittance and the happiness of my family.*
*The gate to the town comes into view. I stop pulling my cart and enter a line to cross the drawbridge. Breathing heavily, I watch the thuggish guards on either side of the bridge hassle entrants to the town.*
Jaquline: *cautiously* “Thom… maybe I should pull your tools, and Lyn*she eyes the guards* in case there’s trouble.”
*I nod, and let her take the handle of the cart. Quickly, I place the back of my hand on Lyn’s forehead. Still hot. *
*Balay, tall just like me, gives me a grin, he’d help too, if there was trouble. We both had the strong arms of builders, though weakened from malnourishment.*
*A skinny man walks in front of us. He is holding a basket full of metal, pottery and wood in various shapes and sizes. As he approaches, the guard snatches his basket. *
Guard: “Hog’s Balls, you think you can take all this shite into town? What’re you going to do with it?”
Skinny man: *shivering* “I’ve got a workshop. This is important for my work, all of it.”
Guard: “We could use it all for the army, I’d say. If you have the gall to bring this into town without our consent, some form of punishment seems in order.” *Guard rubs two fingers together* “unless…”
Skinny man: “I should’ve known… *he fiddles in the pocket of his raggedy blue vest. “Fortunately, I brought this.”
*He hands the obvious bribe to the guard. The guard drops the basket, its mysterious contents emptying into the mud.*
Guard: *sneering* “You may enter.”
*I bend down, and Balay and I help gather the skinny man’s things. A little bit of kindness would do anyone good. The skinny man nods to me and Balay in turn, having filled his basket. He starts to thump across the bridge.”
Guard: *to me* “I don’t know you, maybe today is my lucky day for some sweet earnings.”
Me: “I have no money. All I have is my tools, my family and my skill.”
Guard: *Considering: He looks me up and down* “We can use skill, so you may enter, but your tools will have to stay with me.”
*The skinny man stops his walk across the drawbridge and turns.*
Skinny man: “This man is my employee, his tools are necessary for my work.”
Guard: “I wasn’t paid enough for two, little man.”
*The skinny man tosses him another coin, and waves for us to enter the town. Jaquline pulls the cart into the gatehouse behind her. Our footsteps thump along the bridge as we run to catch up with the skinny man.*

To get the basics out of the way, your grammar, formatting, and length are all up to snuff. Your content, and creative abilities is good as well. It's standard and typical, the normal approach to how people would respond to these scenarios, but that's by no means anything wrong. I did like how you mentioned the two distant men in the first scene as the woman's husband and son - something that hasn't been done before!
Only concern comes from scene 2 where you show powering gaming by immediately grabbing the thug's neck, force walk him, and throw him. Remember that you are suppose to be RP'ing as all these characters so if you were the thug in the actual server, you wouldn't appreciate someone automatically grabbing and throwing you without giving you a chance. Even if you're in the clear position of power, you should be mindful to only *attempt to grab someone*. However, I know that during these applications, people who know not to powergame in the actual server do it in the application so they can move the story along so I'm not concerned but just wanted to be clear. I see no reason why you wouldn't be a good addition to our tight community so I hope to see you soon!
Great server!
It only needs more people!
What cruel fate that the owner is having connection issues when we started getting some great members to RP with!
Lore? Dungeons? Monsters? ETC ETC
I know I have other questions.... cannot seem to remember them all at the moment...
also my IGN is _VII_

---------------------------------------
The rules are simple, we kill the bat---er I mean...respect everyone and everything.
Does he 'bide' his time until he can find a way to return home?
we shall see.
-------------------------------------------------------
Hope you don't mind that I just kind of made my own story to represent my Rp'ing abilities.
But that was Seven. My ideal human ranger. He's a beast slayer, and at times a bounty hunter. His alignment is chaotic neutral.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Accepted
Just to let you know I did see this, I just didn't have the time to respond after doing your application. I'm going to look over this and find try to find plugin alternatives and take it from there. I do like the idea of having other monsters like werewolf because it'll give hunters something more to do and I'm all in favor of that. Thank you very much for suggesting these!
More people should apply to this.

Hah, great story!
