You left out the last question in the magic part of the application. The rest is good excluding the fact that you failed to mention your specific race by only putting elf, however your backstory does say you are a High Elf so this is not a major problem.
When you join the game you are allowed one free home in the city if you so choose, simply pick an unclaimed home that does not have a for sale sign on it and post your name on a sign somewhere around the front door! If you would rather build your own home then you may instead claim any empty area along the roads behind the city and build there, or if you prefer, anywhere you would like in the wilds outside the city limits.
Feel free to pm me your Skype name to be added to the chat.
Right, suppose like any other server I should ask a few questions before I get started.
1) For the magic part of the application, is this for ones character to start with the ability to use magic, or to start with an artifact to use magic? If simply for the ability to cast it, could one become able to use magic later if they dont start out with it? Or are they kind of screwed in that aspect?
2) Is it possible to have more than one character? Or is everyone limited to one? (And a side question that doesn't relate to this (sort of) but is similar; are we allowed to play minor characters on the side, that dont particularly need a large amount of backstory (meaning, that they dont need an app)? Like, an animal, or someones servant, or some sort of monstrous experiment someone's working on, or even an undead under control of a necromancer. That sort of thing.)
3) Might be a bit too large of a question, but, theoretically speaking, would it be possible for someone to create their own school of magic through, well, whatever they might need to do? Whether it's through heavy research, or taking an already existing school and slowly morphing it into something different, or whatever really? I mean, if the answers yes, I have no clue as to how one would go about doing that, so i'm just throwing out guesses here.
4) (Probably the last magic question I swear); In the magic rules, it states that pushing yourself and trying to cast another spell after you're drained of your natural resources could cause physical harm, but even if it does so, would a person still be successful in casting said spell? Or would they simply just mess themselves up a bit in the process of trying?
5) If it's not too much to ask (I hope it isn't, sorry if it is), do you think I, and everyone else, could get a list of plugins you guys are using? You do kind of advertise the fact that you have 40+ plugins, but you dont really list a lot of them. At the very least, can you let me know if you guys are using the Courier plugin (and if not, what plugin might you guys be using for an IC mailing system?), as well as what chat plugin you might be using?
6) Will other lore be touched on later on? I'm not trying to seem disappointed or make you feel bad or anything, but the racial lore is rather short, really. Or at least, some of them are. If you dont have any plans for this, can I ask that you message me privately so we can discuss this further? (And if you're comfortable with it, think you could just PM your Skype name, if you have it? I'd prefer to talk there anyhow)
7) SPEAKING of lore. You mention in the General Lore document that there are books filled with more lore around the world itself, but will that lore ever be put onto the forums? I mean, it'd be a shame if only a select few read it. Especially if those books were ever to be lost, or worse...
8) Will MorePlayerModels be widely used? Or will that probably only be a thing a handful of players use? I know some of the more avid RP'ers out there tend to use it a lot, so I know at least they'll be using it.
9) Is the server strictly 1.8? Or is it 1.7 compatible as well?
10) Any plans on putting the server out there more? Or, at least, the enjin site? This thread seems to have gotten at least decent attention in the span of 5 days, but the view counts on the threads on the enjin site are... kind of worrying, really. (Also kind of find it funny that Demon lore is the most viewed)
11) Any plans for a Dynmap?
12) Whats the current level of technology and medical science on the server? Would one be able to have an engineer character that works with semi-advanced inventions, or is that not an option? Is there a decent knowledge of how to treat wounds and broken bones, and even diseases and such? Or do doctors in this time rely more on superstition and herbs and what not?
13) You mention in the accepted application bit (Or at least, the most recent one) that players can build their own homes, but would they have to, y'know. Have the IC knowledge and strength to do such a thing? Or can just anyone go out, chop a few trees, mine a bit of stone, and build a small hut out in the woods? If so, what happens if a build does not particularly match the style of the world around them? Or is just overly plain and simple? I guess to sum this question up in one big one; ARE there any rules to building? I know you've only really mentioned this on a single users accepted application message, but that user -did- apply as a Scribe/Scholar, so it doesnt fit all that well with their character.
14) Alright, I lied, one last magic question. How integrated is magic in the society of the world? Is it a thing that's at least semi-commonplace? Has it affected the technology of the world at all? Like, do certain machines, or anything really, require magic to be used? (Or to be made?)
Guess that about wraps that up. Sorry for the huge wall of the text. I do hope to hear from you guys soon though!

-Do you have any prior roleplay-related experience, if so could you give an example? Oh yes lots of experience, though I'm not the at creating a back and forth with my self. I will however tell you a tale dear friends, years ago I played on a server called the dark road or soothing by it's same creator. I was normal man like any other making a name for my self working to put food on the table, then one day in the town next to ours a tournament was being prepared. I saw thing as a way to grow fame and line my pocket, as a fine warrior I made it far but was taken out and wounded. Instead of being treated I was taken to an underground cave where I was tested on and made a ghoul. But was made to look as human as possible, the "heroes" of this world came to my aid where they battled the man who made me, his sacrifice insured I was able to be accepted into their ranks. After much spying and work I had become almost a god corrupting the land and erecting a tower of flesh and darkness. [/b]

When she awoke she was enraged to find her things taken, the towns folk just laughed and told her to leave to be grateful even. It was at that moment she opened her mouth to reveal a tongue pricing and from the darkness in her mouth shot out like a spike into the closest person. she slowly reclaimed every item then faster as her abilities expanded. By the end the streets were filled with demons and the undead. Any left alive were tortured or experimented on. it was a month before she knew she was pregnant she did her best to assist the pact but even for a master like her it took all she had to stay in the battle at times. She thought about removing the child countless times but could never bring her self to do it. With the war still raging she opted to be a spy nearing the end of her pregnancy. She gave most artifacts to members of the pacts leaving her self with two weak charms and the skull hidden deep away. [/b][/b][/b]
Valra was born while this mission was under way, this made it much simpler to past off as a refuge under the name sweaty fig. her mother had very mixed feels of her though they looked much alike. first years of her life was normal enough being taking care of by her mother and at times being taken care of by friends human friends. The elves about hated them but never seemed to say about or even a wrong look at ether of them. Later when she became a teenager she was shown the craft of making items and she was told the truth by her mother. Over the years she had done what she could to keep them safe and easier to get away with her magic. Nearing what humans thought adulthood Valra was told the basic of magic and how to do more. However once this was compete her mother soon left with the war over and the pact growing again. Valra is left with the basics to become her mother and soon a heavy choice to make as a new war seems to be brewing.[/b][/b][/b]
-Please give us a short RP response to these two scenarios. [/b](At least one paragraph for each.)[/i][/b][/b][/b]
You’re walking around the markets at around noon. There’s a lot of people around you, still gathering their items as they prepare to shut down their many stands. Suddenly you feel a gentle lifting of your coin purse as a child graces you and soon after they take off sprinting. You have been robbed. [/b]
Valra turns to run after the child hoping to grab the boy. if so would throw him the floor taking the money back, counting it before putting it away. then checking the boy for his items, depending on the hull ether let him go or drag him to the darker part of town to see if anyone she trusts can get some worth out of him. [/b]
You’re heading back to the city through the woods when you hear a whining coming from nearby. Upon further investigation you come across a grey-coloured wolf that appears to have its leg caught in a bear trap. Around it is three smaller lumps of fur, obviously puppies belonging to the trapped mother. Without help, they’ll all die, but wolf skins are quite valuable too, not to mention that the nearby farms suffer quite a bit from the wolf population.[/b]
Valra hating nature would likely only be out for no good. her action would be to free the wolf if able under the thought of farmers being terrorised. if the wolf seemed aggressive. plan B grab a puppy and train it to be loyal, the others perhaps sell away or use their fur for a lovely winter hood.

-Describe to us why you wish for your character to have magical capabilities: well aside for building most my app around it. the freedom and the RP thing that seem to come from this system is too much to pass up for me.
[/b]
-Please give an example in your own words describing the limitations placed upon those who use magic: the use of a magic item, training, the about of time you done magic, your metal state and physical health are all factors. [/b]
-Please give a simple description of the magic system in your own words: as I see it, it is a system in place for hopefully skilled Rp'ers that allows the use of many types of magic to be used in various ways becoming greater and easier depending on your items and shown skill. [/b]
-You are given a very basic trinket of fire, you haven't had much practice with magic yet, but you will try your best. Describe some things you could/would do with this trinket: [/b]
first off the would, to use the trinket you must put your energy into it. Once you've done that I believe you're able to heat something, create a small flame and perhaps light a room. however a smart person could try and stretch what's possible creating burn marks on skin or a table, shoot a bit of fire like a gun or cauterize a wound if a small one. [/b]
Thanks for asking, allow me to answer your questions.
1) The magic application is for that specific character. If you want it on another character you will need to fill it out again (See below)
2) It is possible to have make a new character, even if your old one has not died, but we will likely limit it to two active characters per-person. When creating a new character you will simply re-fillout the IC information on our enjin forums page (there will be a special thread for current players to post there new characters, whether or not these characters must be approved first has yet to be decided, but will likely be so) As for playing a small character as you suggest we don't really have a problem with this.
3) Possibly, but that has yet to be decided, at the time being one can collected multiple magic artifacts, and use their effects together for a new effect. As for creating your own field of magic, I suppose it could become someones IC goal, however it would be very difficult (If even possible) especially with the all the artifacts being for the current fields of magic. Long answer short, No, probably not
4) Typically after extended magic use you will become disoriented and weak, and attempting to push yourself after becoming exhausted from magic use can result not only in physical harm, but the spell 9/10 times will either fail or have a much weaker effect if any at all.
5) Sure, we actually have it posted on our forums here, but it is slightly out of date and I will be sure to update it after this post.
6) Some of the lore is being touched up on as we speak, we recently updated the hunters lore last night and the demon lore is undergoing work, however the staff member working on it will be out of the picture for this next week and the demon lore won't be updated until just before or just after the release.
7) Well, as events take place the current events lore will be updated, and some of the information from lore books will be posted on the forums as it becomes common information ICly.
8) The option to use it is there, but we will not be enforcing players to use it if they don't want to, so it's totally based on the players.
9) The server is not compatible with any version below 1.8, but should however be compatible with all 1.8.+ versions
10) There is really no way to put the Enjin site out there more, but we have posted the website on these forums as well as planet minecraft, and a few other server listing sites. At the moment the playerbase is currently around 15 people and rising. With four days left we hope to get a decent starting base of 20-30 people if possible.
11)More than likely not, simply because it can be used to meta game locations on the map.
12) The current time setting could be described as post-medieval, with the most advanced technology being cannons, and some other semi-advanced things such as large scale ships, cranes, hidden doors, and other simple mechanisms. However there is room for advancement as time goes on.
13) Well in some cases people may want to start with their own custom home, and we will allow them to build this themselves, casting a blind eye in their direction when it comes to their first home. However after that we don't expect players who would not know much about construction to go about acting as if they do. It's really just relying on peoples common sense to play correctly.
14) Well, in the current scenario magic has become somewhat scarce with limited artifacts and knowledge due to the war. In terms of technology magic has not been integrated into it well at all. This is mostly due to the art of enchanting items also being lost in the war. It is in fact magic's scarcity that led to the development of cannons, because while it takes specific people time and training to master magic, cannons can be used by just about anyone and are capable of massive damage. In terms of needing magic abilities to used magic(enchanted) items, one does not need magic potential to use these. Enchanted items have their own source of magic energy and only do their specific effect.
Do not take this the wrong way, but there is a lot wrong with this application, however there is also a lot of good in this application, so I will try to point out some of the biggest faults. First off, you cannot start with the ability to craft magic items for two reasons,
1. The creation of artifacts is very difficult and requires extensive IC training (Backstory does not count) and knowledge (Most of which is lost and must be reclaimed)
2. The enchanting of items such as weapons has been a lost art for a very long amount of time and no one is allowed to start knowing how to do it.
The next biggest problem with this post is that it is very difficult to read, you have multiples of the same paragraph and your grammar is quite bad as well, to the point where it is near impossible to understand what you are saying sometimes. However I can still get the gist of what you are trying to say, the main problem here is the multiple paragraphs and poor app structure.
Finally, the reasoning for your character to have magic is lacking. Try giving us some examples of what you want to do with it.
Clean up your application, make the changes with your backstory involving enchanting and creating magical items, and work on your characters reasons for having magic and you can try again. We will not count this against you as a failed attempt simply because I know from experience how the forums can screw-up a post, and aside from that there are not any super large problems, so good luck!
Edit: I actually hadn't seen you had messaged me, so i'll take what I originally posted here and talk with you about it on Skype instead. Sorry for posting without realizing sooner.

----IC Info---- -Character name: Andor Fessal
-Character race: Human
-Character age: 19 years old
-Character Occupation: None
-Character description: I, Andor Fessal, am a mildly tall man reaching just about 6 feet in length. My hair is a mix of Black and Gray giving a more "intelligent" look. My eyes are the color green giving the appearance of a snake. Some people take me as shady because of my slim figure resulting in a more undesirable look. My facial expressions are usually a stern look, a poker face type of look, usually not frowning, but sometimes smiling.
-Character personality and traits: My traits are a variety of things including: intelligence, strategy, a very rare phenomena of magic, low agility, a little more physical strength than High-Elves, and I am very manipulative. I see things differently than other humans, manipulating people to my favor. I am not very social, I do have a few friends but have trouble making them because the feeling I give out to people. I can get very emotional sometimes because of how people judge me or feel about me, I am very self-conscious with my figure and try to look as friendly as possible, usually failing.
-Character biography (At least three paragraphs describing your character's history and experiences): I was born out of a lower middle-class family, with very caring parents, growing up more to myself designing new ideas for the world, less social than my peers. Even though both parents loved me very much, they often got into fights because of my dads addiction to gambling. He would bet our rent money always loosing it all, it got so bad that my mom and I had to leave him to live a better life. My mother is a very hard-working person, she would juggle 3-5 jobs at once trying to get enough money for food, clothing, and a warm home. Life growing up wasn't that great, but it got better when I moved out. At first it was hard to leave the person I have spent my whole life with, but eventually I got used to it. I live in a small 2-story house with 2 rooms, but in a nice neighboorhood. My personality prevents me from making many friends, but I made a few friends, and even contacted my old friends from school. I am not really employed, I do work for my neighbors if they need help which gets me the money I need for the market, but I received majority of my money from my father. Apparently, for the past 10 years he has gambled and actually succeeded resulting in him becoming a very wealthy man, it was nice seeing him again, but I was afraid that he still had a addiction to gambling.

You’re walking around the markets at around noon. There’s a lot of people around you, still gathering their items as they prepare to shut down their many stands. Suddenly you feel a gentle lifting of your coin purse as a child graces you and soon after they take off sprinting. You have been robbed
As the child takes my purse, I instantly start sprinting after him, the child is much more agile than me and finally outruns me. I was filled with despair when I remembered that I've seen the child with the Robinson family before, I think to myself that maybe its their child. I start heading to the Robinsons house which is located in the shady side of town, as I approach the house, I see a small figure peeping through the window and then suddenly hiding. I knock on the door, Mrs. Robinson looks at me with a very guilty stare, I ask if I may see her child, she says to me,"I don't have a child" I remember the small figure I saw in the window, and suddenly I notice the child peering at me from the living room hidden behind a couch. I barge in and demand for my money, Mrs. Robinson pleads with me saying that he's just a chlld and that's its her fault and she got him to take it because they didn't have enough money for their dinner. She quickly hands me my wallet, instinctively I check that every single coin is in there, and finally I give Mrs. Robinson a handful of coins for her and her son, she says,"Thank you very much, Andor. I'm very sorry for what happened.", I reply with,"Don't ever do that again, don't you care for your son? What would happen if I was much more agile and a man with anger issues? Do NOT ever do that again". I barge out of the house wondering if what I did was right.

As I come across the wolf, stuck in the bear trap with its puppies, a little bit of guilt rushes through me. The Wolf stares at me pleading for help, and in my mind I am thinking on what I should do. Wolves cause a lot of disturbance to the nearby farms and money from wolf-skins would help. But my innocence over-powers me, as I come closer, the wolf starts to growl at me, and I attempt to look like I'm there to help and that I am not a danger. The wolf lashes at me, missing, but when I start saying help repeatedly the wolf stares at me with a innocent look. I come next to the bear-trap, attempting to free the wolves with all my strength, the wolf also starts helping out by using its force. Together we open the bear trap freeing the wolf and its puppies. I start to move back unsure of what will follow, the wolf gives a small smile, unsure what to do I start sprinting towards the city not looking behind, hoping I did the right thing.

(We only accept high quality magic applications!) _______________________________________________________________________
-Describe to us why you wish for your character to have magical capabilities: I wish for my character to have magical capabilities because I consider myself to be very unique type of human. I give out a negative look but at the same time am a very innocent and caring person. I believe to have magic would allow me to show people that I am different, I am not your average day person, but a more intelligent, unique, and powerful person. Some people think that I am just a waste of air, but really, I will make a change in this realm, I will show people that I am not like the others. Once I get started on a specific objective, I cannot stop until it is complete, I do not give up, and I am not easily fooled. Magic would help me give people what they need... what they deserve. I could heal those who could not afford to be healed, I could help people that are filled with despair and do not know what to do, I would help people and be different from the rest.
-Please give an example in your own words describing the limitations placed upon those who use magic: Limitations on those who use magic include several of things. For example, I cannot be stressed while using magic, I have to be calm to channel the mental power through myself to achieve whatever I master in. Magic is very hard to be used during fights because Magic is not a easy 1-2-3 process, it requires you to focus yourself to the task and not let anything differ you from it. As in the thread, magic is a like a muscle, you have to work to use it meaning that you cant use magic multiple times in a row, rather let your physical and mental state return to normal.
-Please give a simple description of the magic system in your own words: Magic in this realm requires you to be born into, or gifted with the potential to channel your physical and metal energy through artifacts from the ancients or from skilled mages who have been taught in crafting artifacts. Every artifact is capable of doing whatever specific field it was intended for. For example, Holy Magic allows someone to perform positive acts like healing.
-You are given a very basic trinket of fire, you haven't had much practice with magic yet, but you will try your best. Describe some things you could/would do with this trinket: As I have not yet learned how-to wield such devices, I have an idea on how magic works and will attempt to use it. For example, I could use the trinket for such simple things as starting a fire at my fireplace by forcing all my focus and mental will to the artifact channeling my feeling and emotions to result in a possible outburst of fire from the trinket. Or, I am lost in the deep forests and I come across a werewolf that is growling at me and about to attack, I could channel everything I had against the werewolf using the artifact to maybe scare it away with the fire to protect myself.
-Do you have any prior roleplay-related experience, if so could you give an example?
Yes. Only on Minecraft, mostly medieval roleplays. Exteria and Realm of Arion. I've played a future-themed one as well called The Last Ark. In Realm of Arion I practiced being a magic user and helped found an outpost, and in Exteria I became a high judge for the Kingdom.

-Character name:
Nicole "Nick" Ashenthorn
-Character race:
Human
-Character age:
24
-Character Occupation
I want to be something practical and needed, but I would prefer, if possible, to be an armor-smith. I will decide in game what would help the people the most. I work with Alexis (YINNY), a fellow human.
-Character description
She has blood red hair, hazel green-brown eyes, and is fairly pale. She adorns a blue and white cloak that is draped over her face and body constantly. She is average in every way. Not particularly pretty, not particularly tall and not particularly well-dressed. She does not stand out. She wears fingerless leather gloves and leather boots, and under her cloak, she wears a pale blue robe. However, she rarely takes the cloak off. She stands up straight, and is rather slender.
-Character personality and traits
She acts masculine, in the stereotypical sense of the word, by being brash and loud, somewhat quick to argue or fight if picked on, eager to learn to battle with a sword, not afraid of getting dirty or engaging in difficult manual labor. She's also not afraid to go out to the local tavern with other men, get drunk on beer and be offensive or disgusting, though she is not always offensive or disgusting. She just adapts to people well, and is not afraid to try anything. She has a somewhat deep voice, and sometimes exaggerates its gruffness, depending on who she is trying to impress. However, she is fairly uncomfortable in a dress, having to be quiet or acting weak and helpless. She likes to help, not be pathetic and whiny. Her only feminine indulgence is a cute blue bow made from strips of leather that she sometimes wears in her hair (It was a gift from her mother). However, it will rain pigs the day you see her wear it in public.
She is friendly, smart, collected and always willing to help. However, under stress, she can be abrasive, passionate and short-sighted.
-Character biography
Nicole "Nick" Ashenthorn is the daughter of a human couple, Rogue, an armor-smith, and Rita, a barmaid. Nick, or Nicky, as her parents called her, grew up in a cottage, and had an average childhood. Not too poor or depressed as a child, Nick grew up happy, but not spoiled. She often helped her father around the small armory he owned, putting freshly hammered daggers into cool water, adding coal to the fire, and giving the occasional sword a hammering or two. As a result of her spending so much time with her father, she became quite fit and strong. She liked working with her hands and getting things done.
Rita tried many a time to get Nick to be more girly, but to no success. She picked her nose on her first blind date, punched her bullies for no good reason and tore up every dress that was bought for her. However, Rita tied a blue leather bow in the little girl's hair so often that the girl eventually grew a liking to it. It was a small success, but a success none-the-less.
Nick grew up surrounded by boys, and preferred acting more manly, and playing outside in the mud, or, when older, drinking in taverns and being loud and obnoxious in general. Nick grew up happy, and never had much reason to hate anyone. Many people knew Nick, and knew Nick was great fun, and mostly very polite. Unless you pissed her off.
Nick left home when she was around 23. Barkamsted was all Nick knew, and a very small part of the city at that. Since she was 20, she had been planning on opening her own armor-smithy, and had just the friend to help her. Alexis Thatcher (YINNY). They met on her 21st birthday. She was having a celebration at a nearby bar when Alexis walked in. Turns out he had a similar plan to hers, and being a fire mage of sorts meant he would save her money on some of the equipment, seeing as he was a walking furnace. Or at the very least, he could help speed things along.
So when she was 23, she left home, promising to visit her parents and old friends every now and then, and headed through the huge, populated city of Barkamsted, hoping to find the right place to settle down and build the armor-smithy that she's so desperately wanted.
-Please give us a short RP response to these two scenarios.
You’re walking around the markets at around noon. There’s a lot of people around you, still gathering their items as they prepare to shut down their many stands. Suddenly you feel a gentle lifting of your coin purse as a child graces you and soon after they take off sprinting. You have been robbed.
I suddenly stand up straight, as if my spine was electrocuted. If my utter shock and anger were personified, they would currently be fist-fighting it out, to see which emotion would be allowed to decide my next action, while I stood totally still and stiff.
And Anger just threw the winning punch.
"You! Get back here!" I would scream as I bolted after the child.
Being fairly athletic, strong and fit, I should catch a mere child with ease. And I do, after a few seconds.
"Please don't hurt me!" The child would yell as I hold its arm a bit too tightly.
"Give me my money back you brat!" I would yell.
"Fine!"
The child would reluctantly hold out the coin purse, and I would snatch it out of its grubby hand with my free hand. I would shake it to feel if there were as many coins in there as I remember there being. The child begins crying. I stare at the little boy for a few moments.
"Didn't your parents teach you stealing is wrong?"
"I don't have any!"
"Oh sure. Play the pity card. I bet that lie gets you much gold." I would say cynically.
After a few moments, I would sigh heavily.
"Fine." I would eventually say. I wasn't a monster after all.
I would hold the purse upside down over the child's still-open hand and pour half the coins into it.
"I need some of this money too, okay? So ask next time. And I better not see you pic-pocketing again."
I would release his arm and he would run off into a nearby alley with his newly-acquired gold.
After attaching my coin purse to my belt once more and sticking my hands into my cloak pockets, I would then walk home.
"Tell your parents I say hi" I would grumble to myself.
You’re heading back to the city through the woods when you hear a whining coming from nearby. Upon further investigation you come across a grey-coloured wolf that appears to have its leg caught in a bear trap. Around it is three smaller lumps of fur, obviously puppies belonging to the trapped mother. Without help, they’ll all die, but wolf skins are quite valuable too, not to mention that the nearby farms suffer quite a bit from the wolf population.
I would feel bad for the poor creature. I was willing to help most in a tough situation, even if I let my emotions run rampant first. Besides, most animals hunted instinctively, for survival. Humans could kill for fun. It would feel wrong leaving the wolves like this.
I would still be careful though, obviously. I would walk slowly towards the injured creature, so as not to pose a threat. Carefully, I would tie up the wolves remaining limbs, as well as tie its mouth shut. Then, I would pull the trap open, freeing the creature. Well, sort-of-freeing (still have to take care of all the freedom-restricting ties). I would then use a piece of cloth, either from my many layers of clothing or from a pocket or case of sorts, and cover the would tightly, so as to stop bleeding.
Then, I would untie the tired creature, freeing its jaws last. I would back off slowly and run off when far away. If it would be hostile towards me, I would only attack defensively. I would try not to kill it. Its chances of surviving with a broken leg seems low enough as is.
Sorry, I'm confused. I obviously misread the first time, but now that I have a better idea of Barkamsted, I have some questions.
I was a little confused with the wording. Has Barkamsted been the only settlement for elves, humans and dwarves for the past 65-70 years, or was it only recently in the past two years, when the Alliance almost crippled, that Barkamsted became the absolute last place for dwarves, elves and humans, a few having been able to live in their old homelands 2 years ago but now none?
I am also a little confused about the size of Barkamsted. Is it still broken up into mountains for dwarves, forests for elves and plains for humans, or is just three separate cities on a small island type thing? If it is just three cities or three separated parts of one big Barkamsted city, would it make sense that my parents are still alive? Weird question, I know. I just mean, that in the roleplay, if the city is small enough that it's possible to travel from the one side to the other rather quickly, everyone should know each other, having been stuck there for 70 years together, right? I don't know how I can justify having alive parents when no one can actually see them, or my father owning an armory that's not there, or even asking new players "Who are you?" because surely I would have met everyone at some point, right?
Unless it is possible that I could have come to Barkamsted recently, having been one of the last few refugees to escape. Then my family could not have survived the trip, explaining how they aren't in the city, and explaining why I could be a stranger, asking everyone who they are and starting fresh.
Sorry if my questions are dumb and the answers are obvious. My reading and interpreting skills might need some freshening up XD
Your application is great, however in your occupation and backstory you describe that you wander through towns looking for work. (If this is a typo then let us know and disregard the rest of this post and your application is fine)
There is not really any other city besides Barkamsted. There are some small farming clusters around the city itself but beyond that the rest of the realm has been conquered by the Pact and is either occupied by the enemy or in ruins. This is the second time someone has made this mistake and it may be us who are at fault and we will take a look at the general lore and see about making this fact more clear. Make this small change and your app is a shoe in. However note that as time goes and and land is reclaimed towns could be reclaimed and used (Depends on players and player-base). In the end it is simply a misunderstanding on your part or our part, or both.
As for the Skype chat, it's not for calls, but rather for text based chat between other players and admins, it's also a medium where we can post updates for everyone.
Application updated. I thought Barkamsted was just the town everyone would start in, I didn't realize it was the only town not destroyed by the Pact. Thank you for correcting me, and I mean no offense when I say this, but yeah, you might want to make that a little bit clearer in the server's lore (maybe bold the sentence ithat says that Barkamsted is the only surviving Alliance settlement or something). I'm glad you like my application, though.

In Star-wars I became a rebel leader and successfully beat back both Sith and Jedi by overwhelming numbers thanks to all the towns folk wanting to be free from any war whats so ever.

-Character name: Alexis Thatcher
-Character race: Human
-Character age: 28
-Character Occupation (optional, note you still must talk to the lord about loaning or purchasing any stall/shop for your character if he/she would have one. Also be sure to give previous applications a glance before deciding your job, we don't need 5 bartenders!):
(Works with Nick Ashenthorn) Alexis is an armour smith, working alongside his partner Nick. Alexis provides the heat required to heat the metal up enough that it becomes malleable, else he is used to weld together heavier pieces of iron, such as a carriage wheel or heavy chain links.
-Character description(At least one to two paragraphs describing your character’s visual appearance.):
Alexis has green eyes, blonde hair and stands tall at 1.9m. He is rather well built due to the fact that he is always hammering away at iron and lifting heavy carriage wheels.
He wears a thick red coat to protect him from the heat of the forge. He also wears leather boots a waistcoat and a simple white shirt. On his head he has goggles to protect his eyes from sparks that may fly his direction. He also has a wrist band that holds the fire artifact heirloom that his family had given him.
-Character personality and traits (At least one to two paragraphs describing their personality traits and/or quirks.):
Quick to anger Alexis is not one to take an insult lightly. Loud and maybe even obnoxious, one will hear Alexis before they see him. However, get on his good side and he will become one of your most loyal friends, even if he may think you are a dunce, he will follow you to hell and back. With strangers Alexis is kind and somewhat patience, but if you are ignorant of current events or generally dense Alexis will chase him out with a second thought. Business is important to Alexis and he takes pride in his work always trying to be as precise as possible. He will rather lose business or chase people out so that he can make the perfect piece of equipment or tools.
-Character biography (At least three paragraphs describing your character's history and experiences):
Deep within Barkenstead lived a family, and in this family was a mother, whose mission in life was to make sure that she could help as many people to survive as she could. Such a mission needed an outlet and thus the Thatchers, who previously were tool blacksmiths became armor smiths.
The family was made up of Duncan Thatcher, the father, Maria Thatcher the Mother and Young Alexis. The sudden change in craft came at the hand of a sudden death of Alexis's aunt. Sue Kasher. She was struck by an errant arrow while hunting for meat to bring back to the market.
Maria, filled with a passion to make sure no more of her loved ones might die a sudden death, began to convince Duncan that he should change his profession from Tool smith to armor smith and use his magical ability, which he used to heat the furnace, to make armor instead of tools. Maria further convinced Duncan by promising to help create the armor pieces, as up until that point she had been educating Alexis to read and write. Luckily the change was not difficult, however a much larger amount of iron was needed to do this. Alexis, being young was tasked with carting the larger amount of iron to and from the market. It did not take long for the Thatchers to begin producing decent armor parts. With Duncan's skill in making tools and Maria's passion for making the perfect armor, sales soon started coming in.
Alexis was able to learn much about the process of armor production from his parents and was even able to learn how to make some tools from his father. However, prized above all the knowledge both parents had was a family heirloom. A flame elemental artifact. To everyone else it was a convex circle of glass, rimmed with a golden ring that had arcane symbols stamped into it. But to the Thatchers it was what they would pray to. Alexis and Duncan would pray to Bothimir, the God of magic, asking that their use of magic would improve and that they would receive continued use of magic. While Maria would pray to Aderoth, asking that all who wore her armor might be protected by it.
As Alexis had been excitedly expecting, he received the fire artifact heirloom as a 21st birthday gift, and spent many years perfecting his fire magic. At least, on a very basic level, to the point where he could create sparks by rubbing his hands together, and create a small flame over a single finger by snapping his fingers. When he finally got the hang of it, and looked forward to new challenges, he said goodbye to his parents and headed out at the age of 25. It was that very night he moved out that he met a very strange girl having her 21st birthday in a tavern he hoped to spend the night. Nicky Ashenthorn (K_is_a_Dino). Interested in her strange man-like behavior, they started talking, and joking over many cups of ale. However, it became clear that the two had much in common, and that Alexis could be hired for good pay by Nick's father, an armorer, as well as have a free place to stay. He worked with Nick and her father for two years before Nick and Alexis finally earned enough money to live alone and try buy the armour-smithy that they kept talking about owning. So now, together, with decent money in their pockets, they have set off through the many streets of Barkenstead, in hopes of finding the right place to settle down.
-Please give us a short RP response to these two scenarios. (At least one paragraph for each.)

If one were to observe Alexis at the exact moment he realized he was robbed one might say that they saw small flames erupt from his finger tips.
To Alexis there was only one thing on his mind. He was going to get his money back and he was not going to stop until he did.
"STOP THAT CHILD RIGHT NOW! COME BACK HERE WITH MY MONEY YOU LITTLE THIEF! GAURDS STOP HIM RIGHT NOW!"
Once the guards had dragged the child back to Alexis, Alexis would swiftly take my money back, and ask the authorities to deal with him. Just because he is a kid, doesn't mean he is free from the law.
You’re heading back to the city through the woods when you hear a whining coming from nearby. "Ah! What do we have have here?"
*He bends over to get closer look at the trap, keeping in mind not to come too close to the wolf less he leave with a new bite mark.*
"Ah, you are not going to go anywhere are you? Judging by the size of the trap, the bones in your leg are definitely shattered."
*He draws a large knife from his belt*
"Sorry, but you're coming with me."
*He lifts the knife above his head and plunges it deep into the wolves side. Now sure that the wild animal is dead he opens the trap and releases the animals leg. After releasing the dead Wolf he would pull out a small folded cloth bag from his satchel and puts the three pups in before tying the bag to his side. He would quickly set the trap again before hoisting the dead animal on his shoulders and continuing off towards the city, now planning to stop by the market to sell a wolf pelt and perhaps some pups.*

-Describe to us why you wish for your character to have magical capabilities:
I believe Alexis would have inherited the gift of using magic from his father and the heirloom they keep as a gift to pass down through the family. Alexis would use this artifact to aid him in his armor smiting capability.
-Please give an example in your own words describing the limitations placed upon those who use magic: Magic, as useful as it is, has a price on mental and physical condition. Overuse will see the mage unable to stand or concentrate properly. Even further use could possibly kill the mage that is if the artifact they are using does not shatter or explode. Each artifact that is used to focus ones magic ability has a threshold of how big a spell it is able to cast. Force too much magic into a lesser artifact and it could shatter.
-Please give a simple description of the magic system in your own words: Magic is channeled through an artifact. There are no spells, only what the certain artifact is created to work with, such as elemental or holy magic. There are also enchanted items that are only able to do one thing and do not require a users magical ability. Depending on the size or power of the magic, it could take longer to cast than other spells. Once a spell is cast it drains the magic users physical and mental ability and should mages push themselves they could potentially kill themselves. All artifacts have thresholds and if too much magic is focused through it, the artifact could break.
-You are given a very basic trinket of fire, you haven't had much practice with magic yet, but you will try your best. Describe some things you could/would do with this trinket: Coming from a family that will hand down a fire artifact as a heirloom to the eldest Alexis would immediately begin to practice with this trinket so that when he would receive the heirloom form his family he would not shatter it by accidentally forcing to much magic into it in one go. Alexis would attempt to set a piece of parchment on fire with this trinket. Keeping the trinket close to his hands by strapping it to his wrist. The trinket would be a small golden loop with arcane symbols engraved in the center. Alexis would click his fingers in an attempt to get a spark. At first it might not work, but he would not give up. He would clap his hands, shake them out or even point at the paper and shout "fire!" Eventually Alexis would return to clicking his fingers. He would focus on creating a spark, imagining it pop from his finger tips as he clicked them together. He would close his eyes and click his fingers one last time.
*Snap*
Suddenly the room would be basked in a soft red glow as the parchment would catch fire, a single flame still flickering with life, would hover just above Alexis's thumb. On Alexis's wrist the golden loop would be softly glowing. The arcane symbols turning a deep red as the flame flickered above Alexis's thumb.
Alexis was delighted with the result and quickly blew out the flame. As suddenly as the arcane symbols turned red they then returned back to their original state.
Alexis would then put out what was left of the parchment. He would not push the trinket any further and only used his magic to light candles are start fires used to cook meals. Even so it was used sparingly as Alexis would feel light headed after light a few candles or starting a wood fire.

PENDING
You left out the last question in the magic part of the application. The rest is good excluding the fact that you failed to mention your specific race by only putting elf, however your backstory does say you are a High Elf so this is not a major problem.
Answer the last question and you should be fine.
My mistake. Small error in copying the application over. Fixed now

Only fill out if you want your character to have magic capabilities. If you do not fill this out then your character will be incapable of performing any form of magic. Also note that it will take significant in character practice and experience to become any form of proficient in magic.

@Zekermei
Enchanted items have their own source of magic energy and only do their specific effect.
yeah I'm not sure it's gonna let me fix that mess today...
@skull175
DENIED

-Please give us a short RP response to these two scenarios. (At least one paragraph for each.)
You’re heading back to the city through the woods when you hear a whining coming from nearby. Upon further investigation you come across a grey-colored wolf that appears to have its leg caught in a bear trap. Around it is three smaller lumps of fur, obviously puppies belonging to the trapped mother. Without help, they’ll all die, but wolf skins are quite valuable too, not to mention that the nearby farms suffer quite a bit from the wolf population.
Only fill out if you want your character to have magic capabilities. If you do not fill this out then your character will be incapable of performing any form of magic. Also note that it will take significant in character practice and experience to become any form of proficient in magic.
(We only accept high quality magic applications!)
_______________________________________________________________________

You’re heading back to the city through the woods

Sorry, will update the application right now. Thanks for the help
Thank you for the time.

You’re walking around the markets at around noon. There’s a lot of people around you, still gathering their items as they prepare to shut down their many stands. Suddenly you feel a gentle lifting of your coin purse as a child graces you and soon after they take off sprinting. You have been robbed.
