We use a custom Conquest texture pack and item pack! We also recommend Forge, MPM, and Optifine. While not required it's heavily suggested to use the item pack if nothing else or face strange and missing textures. It is compatible with other texture packs as long as the items pack is at the top of the load order.
Instructions on setup can be found ‘here’.
We currently use 1.18.2 Forge
Before Applying: -Please read through our Rules and Lore on our ‘main site’ -The general event timeline can be found ‘here’ with a bullet list 'here' -A quick start player guide can be found ‘here’ -Please keep in mind some races are ‘Player+’ only, and cannot be your first character -If you want your character to have magic, the magic application has to be completed before acceptance -All players start on equal grounds, you cannot start as a master in a craft or skill -Everyone starts with the default gear, money, and items. Player+ and Donators can start with custom lored personal/backstory items that do not provide an advantage over other new characters. -Please note that any incomplete applications will be instantly denied
Important Note
While the most important parts of our lore can be found on the forums, as listed above, much of this is simply common knowledge, with more unique, lesser-known information excluded. -Do you have any prior roleplay-related experience?
Yes I have Role-played on many Minecraft severs majority being medieval or fantasy. I also don't just Role-play on just Minecraft but on various sites and other games. I have years of experience in Role-play and mature Role-play communities and have been a member of Dark World Role-play a mature Role-play community for three years. I know how Role-play works and how to do it correctly.
-Define Power-gaming in your own words:
There are multiple ways for instance. Giving your character powers or ability's he/she normally would not have.
In Role-play saying * I slice your head off * without giving the other player a chance to react or defend themselves.
Being able to survive a hit that would normally kill you without reasoning. Being able to run with broken legs or injures that is unrealistic and impossible without the ability to do so.
-Define Meta-gaming in your own words:
Using knowledge OOC in character to affect Role-play to their advantage like finding out who stole from you OOC and using that knowledge to attempt to kill or resent them. Something your character wouldn't normally do or have a reason to do without finding out in Role-play.
Lanolar is a six-foot tall pale man with blackish grey eyes and very short blackish grey hair resembling human hair.
He has many battle scars that covers most of his body. He is armored with light leather and velvet clothes.
He has gadgets and trinkets that he has collected over the years of being a thief covering the side of his legs and lower back.
He has a red velvet mask that covers his face up to his nose and a leather hood that covers his hair and long pointy ears. Overall he is armored very well hardly showing any part of his body.
-Character personality and traits:
Lanolar is a loner at heart and likes to keep to himself. He rarely talks unless spoken to and acts if he was a regular person. However this is all a act to cover up his truly sinister and mischievous personality.
He is obsessive with his goals and treats people like tools for his own disposal.
He is quick to anger and quick to draw swords. He intimidates and threatens people to get his way but he is no fool.
He knows who to mess with and who to not. When he can't use a sword to get his way trickery and deceit is his next option.
In the end nothing will stop him from his goals and he is willing to change his personality completely to get on someones good side. Only to back stab them when he no longer needs them.
-Character biography:
Lanolar grew up in a poor family with only scraps to eat. He grew up being picked on for his hair and eye color,
while most High Elf's had bright vibrant skin and hair colors his was darker and looked more human-like.
He was look down upon by other High Elf's because of his human look although supposedly being a full blood Elf although never seeing his father. Who died in battle he was given the benefit of doubt.
His life was filled with struggles with his mother being unable to provide he resorted to thievery at a young age so he could provide for his mother and him. He became very skilled at it as the years passed, so he was able to live peacefully pick pocketing and stealing valuables until he was caught at the age of 23 and sent to be imprisoned for 50 years.
He spent six years behind bars plotting his escape. learning guard routines and weak spots until one day his chance came and he escaped the prison.
As soon as he escaped he headed back home only to find out that his mother died at the age of 197 when he was in imprisoned. He left the city soon after collecting the little he had. He now a wanted outlaw he cut his hair and disguised himself the best he could and lead a life of thievery and assassination to survive.
-Please give us a short RP response to these two scenarios.
You’re walking around the markets at around noon. There’s a lot of people around you, still gathering their items as they prepare to shut down their many stands. Suddenly you feel a gentle lifting of your coin purse as a child graces you and soon after they take off sprinting. You have been robbed.
Answer:
I chase after the child dodging between the market stalls and people to attempt to catch the child . As i chase the child i start to lose the child in the crowd so i think to myself in desperation and climb on top of a market stall jumping one to another while trying to keep my balance and chase after the child.
I use my agility to keep balance and catch up. I jump towards the child off the stalls catching the child by the arm. i grab the coin purse out of the childs hands and leave a few coins for the child. A thief to a thief before walking away.
You’re heading back to the city through the woods when you hear a whining coming from nearby. Upon further investigation you come across a grey-coloured wolf that appears to have its leg caught in a bear trap. Around it is three smaller lumps of fur, obviously puppies belonging to the trapped mother. Without help, they’ll all die, but wolf skins are quite valuable too, not to mention that the nearby farms suffer quite a bit from the wolf population.
Answer:
With the mother caught in the trap she will be too weak even if freed with a crushed leg to provide for her cups and hunt. Since she can't hunt they will all eventually die so i will put them out of their misery and make some nice wolf pelts. I grab my sword and quickly execute all the wolf's and skin them for their wolf pelts that i will sell later.
-Describe to us why you wish for your character to have magical capabilities:
I would like magic ability's to improve my characters skill in thievery, assassinations and combat. With the power to use magic i will use it to create a unique story for my character so he will spend most of his days searching for powerful artifacts and doing anything to acquire it. I want magic to give my character a greater purpose then being a measly thief. most of all i want to use it for a unique experience Role-Playing using the magic in creative ways to survive and steal.
-Please give an example in your own words describing the limitations placed upon those who use magic:
Magic requires great strain on the user's body meaning you can't use magic constantly or over and over or you will likely pass out or die. Also you can't just use magic instantly when you get an artifact it requires experience and time to use and master.
For Instance no one can do * i call forth a powerful demon* without causing great strain on them and requiring mastery of that magic. Also too much magic sent flowing into the artifact can cause it to break or even violently exploded harming you and others around.
-Please give a simple description of the magic system in your own words:
Magic is used through artifacts and their magical power greatly depends on the artifact itself not the person so the weaker the artifact the weaker the spell or power. No one can just use magic it requires you to be born with the ability to use it and much time to master and use.
The user sends magic flowing into the artifact to use the artifact. There are multiple types of magic each artifact having its own magic type that you can use.
-You are given a very basic trinket of fire, you haven't had much practice with magic yet, but you will try your best. Describe some things you could/would do with this trinket:
Since it is a basic trinket it would have its limitations also adding the fact i have never used magic before. Simple magic would be the best option like using the trinket to make small embers as a torch to light up dark areas. I would use the trinket to make small flames to melt locks on doors and chest. I'll use it to make small embers to create campfire.
We appreciate your attempt, but there are a few things that need to be corrected. We will give you a rundown as to what you need to change and you will be allowed two more attempts to apply.
First off, we made some mistakes. We would like some examples of previous RP experience. The form has been changed for future applicants. This does not affect your acceptance because we should have been clearer.
Furthermore, we need to make sure you understand that you will not be starting with the armor you described, you can however obtain it ICly by having someone forge it for you or by obtaining it from another source. (Spiked armor is a craftable item in the game, however, wearing it will ICly and mechanically slow you down due to the weight of the spikes and the armor).
You also should rethink your replies in the magic section of the app Your explanation for what you could do with the fire trinket was not quite acceptable. Summoning walls of fire and coating your swords with flames would be a little much for such a weak trinket.
Another minor problem is that thief/assassin is not really an occupation, while being a jobless thief is more than acceptable an assassin is stretching it thin, especially for someone starting off. We are not saying you cannot be an assassin ICly, it's just that starting off as one is a little too OP, and to top it off, you really made no attempt to expand the assassin role in your backstory. You focused more on the thief part and the assassin bit does not come up again until you provide it as one of your reasons for having magic. However if you wish to consider your character an assassin of sorts that is fine, but do not expect to start off at a skill level equal to someone who has spent a lot of time training and participating in events. Only those who put forward the effort in game to make their character skilled will be the ones to have such skills. No one will be starting off OP in anyway, everything is earned ICly!
The app as a whole needs a little cleaning up as well, there are multiple grammatical errors as well as poor structure making it hard to read in some areas.
Make these changes to your current application and we’ll be sure to reconsider it, and thank you for applying.
However note that there are still a few errors in your application, and "I would use the trinket to make small flames to melt locks on doors and chest." is stretching it a bit thin, but we will let it slide this time rather than making you edit again. We will also be updating the magic rules to give players a better idea as to what each magical artifact is capable of based on power. As for your character having magic potential we will allow it, but you just barley made it, your reasoning was average and your explanations were very similar to our own, but it is acceptable. However, remember that abusing such things can result in punishment if you're not careful, so keep that in mind.

-Do you have any prior roleplay-related experience, if so could you give an example? Multiple D&Ds and a few other minecraft roleplaying servers like LotC and Aeonis.
-Define Power-gaming in your own words: Making a character out to be above anyone else, such as being an excellent fighter and taking no damage from a foe or having control over situations in which no one would have complete control.
-Define Meta-gaming in your own words: Using OOC information ICly to further your character or to cause the story to shift in any way.
----IC Info----
-Character name: Aroan Finuan
-Character race: High Elf
-Character age: 132
-Character Occupation: Bartender
-Character Description: Aroan is a rather tall High Elf standing at eight feet tall. His hair which once was a light green, has been changed to a solid black color through his own preference. Aroan's eyes are still a deep green just as he was born with. Though his job puts him in a rather vibrant, lively position Aroan sticks to a rather drab wardrobe. He is normally found in fine black robes with a silver trimming to them.
-Character personality and trait: Aroan is a rather charismatic individual. He normally tries to welcome all though his family and elders would see him as a "Mud Elf." Aroan sees it as a necessity in his line of work and for his overall goals in life. Aroan is also a bit of a con man by trade. His time in taverns has given him a sense of people and unluckily for most Aroan uses that for his own advantage.
-Character biography: Aroan lived through the 70 year war, being 62 when the war had first broken out. The elders of his city had told the populace that they would be safe in the tree tops, well away from the Orcs, Trolls, and Goblins below them. Aroan, however, was not a strong believer in his elders' knowledge seeing as peace was the natural state in the world. When the Pact finally had reached his home Aroan was one of the many High Elves drafted to fight off the hordes of enemies that swarmed their treetop home. He was far from a suitable fighter seeing as he was only trained for a few months before the assault of his home, though Aroan stood his ground when the merciless waves of the Pact came through.
After the weeks of being besieged by the Pact, the treetop city fell. The Pact had effectively toppled the trees that held the city and left nothing for the High Elves to return to, and what survivors were left were rounded up and slaughtered in the fields below the trees. Only a handful of the townspeople had managed to evade the Pact's hunting parties as they made their way further west to the safety of Barkamsted. Some died of starvation, others were caught in their sleep or while gathering food for the rest of the journey. The already slim numbers of the survivors quickly dwindled to just a few, near death elves. Upon reaching the promised land of Barkamsted, the elves took on what duties they could in the city to help the expanse.
Aroan spent 67 years within Barkamsted working any job that he could find, this varied from masonry to baking. He did anything he could to keep himself alive while the town became more and more crowded. His efforts to make connections with all the incoming races separated himself from his own as he was deemed a "Mud Elf" for speaking with the other races. This was however the only way Aroan saw that he would begin to thrive within the walls and transcend the lower social bounds of the poor refugees.
-Please give us a short RP response to these two scenarios. (At least one paragraph for each.)
You’re walking around the markets at around noon. There’s a lot of people around you, still gathering their items as they prepare to shut down their many stands. Suddenly you feel a gentle lifting of your coin purse as a child graces you and soon after they take off sprinting. You have been robbed.
With the obviously more nimble child already taking off Aroan would shake his head with a laugh. This had once been a hospitable town at least, but with the almost constant arrival of refugees in the past years it has turned so quickly. Aroan would let out a long breath as he continued his walk through the crowd, his own fingers beginning to wander as he bumped into people at the stands. Pouch after pouch Aroan cut them from the sides of the other townspeople. At the end of the marketplace Aroan would stuff all the pouches into a small bag before he slipped into the alley ways of the city.
Aroan would take out his knife from within the sleeve of his robe, this would be a pay day and the start of a new business oppurtuniry for him. As he approached the trapped wolf he would leap towards it, knocking the beast to its side as he wrapped an arm around its neck. The wolf had managed to take hold of Aroan's side with a bite, but Aroan fought through the pain. He drove the dagger into the wolf's neck, giving it a merciful death before taking its teeth from his side. There was a sharp pain associated with the bite and Aroan tended to it, wrapping it tightly with strips from the arm of his cloak. He was a bit short of breath, but Aroan ran after the pups and gathered them up. He loaded the pups into a small sack before taking his time to skin the mother. With pelt and pups in hand Aroan made his way back to the marketplace to get himself a well deserved pay day.
-Describe to us why you wish for your character to have magical capabilities: With a character that isn't a wonderful fighter and is relying on a smile and his words, I am hoping Aroan could use illusion magic to aid him in his schemes. Whether it be making clones to walk in all directions, clones to act as muscle, a mist, or anything he would need.
-Please give an example in your own words describing the limitations placed upon those who use magic: The artifact given limits the overall strength of the magic, a person can channel as much as they have, but the artifact controls all.
-Please give a simple description of the magic system in your own words: Knowledge, artifacts, no spells. You have to learn to use your magic, you have to concentrate.
-You are given a very basic trinket of fire, you haven't had much practice with magic yet, but you will try your best. Describe some things you could/would do with this trinket: Form a fireball, boil water, make a lantern, or start a campfire.
Your application as a whole was very good, however your magic half was lacking with somewhat basic explanations. I would suggest looking over magic lore and rules one more time before server release just be sure you fully understand them. However you still passed, congratulations!

-Define Meta-gaming in your own words: Making use of information you have attained while for example talking with someone over Skype then using that information to sway a decision your character would make even without knowing said information.
----IC Info----
-Character name: Valardan "Vale" Orvir
-Character race: Dark Elf
-Character age: 90
-Character Occupation (optional, note you still must talk to the lord about loaning or purchasing any stall/shop for your character if he/she would have one. Also be sure to give previous applications a glance before deciding your job, we don't need 5 bartenders!): Hunter.
-Character description (At least one to two paragraphs describing your character’s visual appearance.): Vale stands at 6’1” with a toned slender physique his eyes are a complete dark crimson. His short ivory hair lays just below ear length with a slight unkempt look to it. He dons a black steel armour set that leaves his chest exposed, the gauntlets of the armour reach up to his shoulders; a section of his armour covers his neck with a dark onyx pendant hanging from it. The greaves and leggings are the same dark steel the don a slender design the leggings leaning more towards being chainmail than plate this is accompanied by a black silk tail piece that flows behind him and is attached to another black steel belt.
-Character personality and traits (At least one to two paragraphs describing their personality traits and/or quirks.): Vale has been a hunter from very young this has shaped the way he grew whether he was hunting animals or people he began to grow cold and emotionless towards the people and animals he would kill referring to them only as prey. Being a smaller dark elf he was often shunned from the activities of the others leaving him to have trust issues with most other people. Vale tries to avoid romantic involvement due to the nature of his work. Although his job is not necessarily a clean one he believes there should be some form of order and law to what he does and the way he does it.
-Character biography (At least three paragraphs describing your character's history and experiences): Vale was born in the Elven city he was birthed healthily although a little smaller than most babies all seemed well he grew fast although it still seemed like he was smaller than most other children, at the young age of five he was discarded by his parents left in a market he stood there for a long day crying until eventually he just stopped crying and stood there realizing that nobody was paying him attention, not even a glance was aimed his way he then stumbled towards a dark ally in which there where a group of children ranging from his young age of five to the elderly age of nineteen. These children had built their own homes within the city alley ways and sewers they helped and taught each other to survive. The community was tight and friendly although Vale was always shunned he wasn’t sure as to if it was due to his small un-dark elf like body or that he was in fact a dark elf but it had an everlasting effect on him, the only activity’s he would be allowed to partake in was the stealing and hunting for food in the city. He lived here learning survival skills catching rats and small cardinals to eat till he was twenty he then picked up everything he had and started to train with spears, pole arms and bows.
After leaving the safe familiarity of the child haven Vale drifted from town to town going out on hunting runs with the hunters of said towns learning how to track and kill without startling the surrounding wildlife after doing this for several years he felt he had gathered all the knowledge he could from doing jumping from place to place hunting animals and decided to settle in village going out on regular hunting expeditions and managing to pull in the highest yield of catch. This continued for the next few years and Vale became accustomed to the lifestyle that this brought with it.
After arriving back after a few days out hunting Vale sat in a tavern in a corner drinking a mug of ale relaxing it when someone approached him asking how much it would cost for him to kill somebody, he declined saying he was sorry but that’s not what he does the man looked shocked looking around then to scuttle off into the night. For the remainder of the night he sat there not drinking just looking into the glass considering if he could use the skills he learned hunting and apply it to people instead, people are just animals after all and a hunt is a hunt. Over the next week he contemplated the pros and cons to hunting people and whether he would add them to his list of valid prey. On the same day as before the following week he sat in the same place attempting to look shadier as stereotypes would suggest and lo and behold a young woman approached him asking for the services of a “killer” the woman requested her husband would be killed no reason was given and he preferred it like that.
The man wasn’t hard to track down he was a messy sweaty fig snob that left trails of him being there everywhere he went, Vale made a plan the night he would do it and how a knife in the neck quick quiet enough time to slip out without being seen. On the day after he followed the man home from a bar, as he staggered into his home Vale lurked on a nearby roof waiting till he suspected the man to have gone to sleep. Slipping in under the cover of the pitch black clouded night he crept to the bed that the bed slept in and jab he plunged the knife in twisting it as he pushed down, but that wasn’t man it was beast. Shocked the Vale hurries to leave making noise as he does, the drunk man charged up the stairs hearing the noise and pummelled into Vale pushing him into a wall punching him several times in the gut, struggling Vale manages to slip out of his hold and get out of the house and get home hurt and wondering what he did wrong. Over the next few days Vale established a more in depth plan with fail safes in case something were to go wrong. A full week passed of stalking and studying his prey he struck the same way as intended before and he was successful the sleeping man was ended quickly and silently and that’s what started the lust for the hunt.
Now after fifty four years he is still hunting both people and animals and has been dubbed “The Lucid Hunter” he was never fond of the name but if it keeps the customers out of his hair while he works he is fine with it. So here we are hunting everything that can be hunted.
-Please give us a short RP response to these two scenarios. (At least one paragraph for each.)
You’re walking around the markets at around noon. There are a lot of people around you, still gathering their items as they prepare to shut down their many stands. Suddenly you feel a gentle lifting of your coin purse as a child graces you and soon after they take off sprinting. You have been robbed. : Vale turns to chase the child but stops as a smirk comes across his face remembering what it had been like in that situation having to steal to survive and simply moved on to meet his client there wasn’t many coins in the pouch anyway.
: Leaning down to see how bad the wound is I see if it is a substantial issue of if she will be able to live effectively if released and if the cubs would live. The wound seemed deep but it did not hit bone or break the nerves she should be fine for long enough to see the cubs live. Vale leant down to let her free of the trap, as the wolf limped of the cubs scampering behind Vale could not help but feel comforted by the sight of the mothering wolf.
I like your application as a whole, but there are a few issues that need to be fixed before we can accept you. Firstly, there is a contradiction between how old the city of Barkamsted is versus how old you are. Barkamsted is about 65 years old as a city, and you being 90 kinda makes it hard for you to have been born there Secondly, there are little to no other settlements besides Barkamsted that currently exist at the moment, because they were destroyed in the war. If you fix these errors then you should be good. Other than that, it is a wonderful and good job not killing the mothering wolf.

Update:
Some minor updates have been made, including some slight changes to the rules as well as additional screenshots being uploaded along with a few other small changes to the post. You can also expect some changes on our Enjin page within the next day or so. There is also a small possibility the release date could be moved forward slightly to allow more time for applications to be put in before release, but we will see how this week goes before we make a decision. We really do not want to push the release date forward unless it's necessary.
Do to a recent changes on our enjin website, the application thread has been closed on the site, which means all applications will have to be done here on the Minecraft Forum. We still ask that you come and join the enjin website for Updates, Forum RP, and General Information.
Just wondering. Are there religions on the server? I might want to add one into my application.
While Thedoomed's definition is true the wording sounds a bit off and I would like to provide a better explanation. Everyone believes in all of the gods (typically). So there are really no religions per say, there are simply followers of each god. The most commonly worshiped god is Aderoth for she is the god of purity and healing, as well as the creator of angels and the ruler of heaven. Then there are some gods that have little followers such as the god of war Uldir, who many warriors typically pay homage to before battle. There is also the illegal worship of the god Behmos, god of evil, darkness, and sin as well as the creator of vampires, undead, demons, and other monsters of the sort.
-Skype name (Optional, for server chat): So, Skype is used for ooc chat? Okay, then, my skype name is bunnygirl.keiko
-Do you have any prior roleplay-related experience, if so could you give an example?: I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons for over a decade. I've also played in Minecraft servers like Bastronull and Realm of Kings, as well as Terraria and Starbound roleplaying servers.
-Define Power-gaming in your own words: Powergaming is attempting to gain control of another person's character.
-Define Meta-gaming in your own words: Metagaming is attempting to use knowledge your character doesn't possess.
----IC Info----
-Character name: Keiko Yui
-Character race: Human
-Character age: 23
-Character Occupation (optional, note you still must talk to the lord about loaning or purchasing any stall/shop for your character if he/she would have one. Also be sure to give previous applications a glance before deciding your job, we don't need 5 bartenders!): Keiko starts out as a wanderer - she will probably seek employment from players that are hiring for their stores/bars/farms/whatever when she reaches Barkamsted. She is willing to learn whatever job people are willing to hire her for (so long as it doesn't break the rules of the server).
-Character description(At least one to two paragraphs describing your character’s visual appearance.): Shoulder-length brown hair, although a strand on each side of her head reaches down to her bust. Emerald green eyes. Pale skin with just a hint of a sort of pinkish complexion.
-Character personality and traits (At least one to two paragraphs describing their personality traits and/or quirks.): Keiko is very caring, generous, and meek. She will often consider someone else's needs above her own, and is very loyal to the friends that she makes. However, she is also shy, timid, and at times fearful, and doesn't easily associate with people she doesn't know.
-Character biography (At least three paragraphs describing your character's history and experiences): Keiko has lived in human towns and villages all her life, and never did much exploring when she was young. With a farmer for a father and a seamstress for a mother, her family never had much money. With her parents working all the time and no siblings, Keiko often felt alone in her childhood. She was never good at making new friends, either, and her loneliness eventually led her to her worship of Aderoth.
As a child, she hoped that her worship of Aderoth would lead the deity to making the world a better place, but as she grew older, her faith let her away from her own concerns and brought her to think more of the needs of others. In her adolescence, she would often wander the chapels and temples looking for people in need. Although she never had the courage to actually seek her own place within the hierarchy of the faithful, many of those she interacted with in these places of worship considered her spiritual strength and desire to help others a blessing.
As the goblins, orcs, and trolls came with their warrings, the village she lived in sought to fight back. In the midst of some childish antics she and what friends she had during this time, she fell into a crate of swords that had been sharpened and readied for distribution to the warriors. She has had a phobic fear of sharp objects ever since. Sadly, her village fared poorly during the war, and Keiko eventually found her entire world razed to the ground. With nothing to live on and no family members to turn to, Keiko made graves for her family (because she couldn't find their bodies) and left, searching for some other bastion of civilization with which to make her living.
It is important to note that Keiko does not have a tradeskill, as she has spent most of her childhood as a servant of her deity instead of an apprentice to a worker. She has limited knowledge of farming, however, from watching her father work. She knows how to till the ground, plant seeds, and the intricacies of irrigation. She does not know what seeds do what, or any farming tools other than a hoe or mattock, as her father was too poor to till the ground by any means other than a tool in his hands. She does not know how to sew, however, as her mother was hesitant to have her daughter sitting around the house when she was a child. When Keiko was old enough to learn that sort of thing, she spent almost all of her time with people her mother would call 'religious fanatics'.
Although Keiko is startled at first, and almost runs after the lad, she stops and contemplates that perhaps, being as young as this child is, he must be stealing as a means to survive. She lets the theft go, and prays silently to Aderoth that the money he took would lead him to a better life, and that he might become a better person over time.
Believing that all natural life is sacred, Keiko immediately attempts to disarm the trap so that the wolf might live and raise her children. This might require multiple attempts, however, as Keiko is not experienced with disarming traps. If she is not able to disarm the trap, she will head toward the village to seek someone who can do what she, in her inexperience, cannot.
Only fill out if you want your character to have magic capabilities. If you do not fill this out then your character will be incapable of performing any form of magic. Also note that it will take significant in character practice and experience to become any form of proficient in magic.
-Describe to us why you wish for your character to have magical capabilities: Being a faithful worshipper of the god of purity and healing, the ability to use even the weakest forms of Holy magic will give her a means to help people and serve her deity beyond her own limited physical and financial means. Should she gain this ability, I intend to have her be very unskilled with it at first, and have her practice with it repeatedly over the course of her life in whatever town she ends up in.
-Please give an example in your own words describing the limitations placed upon those who use magic: The use of magic elicits both a physical and mental strain on the user. Attempting to create a magical force beyond your ability will destroy your artifact at best and destroy your body at worst.
-Please give a simple description of the magic system in your own words: The use of magic requires physical objects with which to channel the energy you intend to use. It requires constant practice and a continuous search of even powerful artifacts in order to attain any sort of mastery of magic. Even attempting to use magic also requires concentration on the part of the user, thus the use of magic as a weapon requires even more practice and dedication in order to achieve.
-You are given a very basic trinket of fire, you haven't had much practice with magic yet, but you will try your best. Describe some things you could/would do with this trinket: A very basic trinket of fire would be capable of igniting items one would usually require as fuel for firestarting. It could also be used as a source of light and/or warmth, a means to melt ice, or a tool with which to torture your enemies by causing small burns over time (if you had the mentality for that sort of thing.) You could probably cook a small serving of food over time, but it would probably be a slow process.
Your application is great, however in your occupation and backstory you describe that you wander through towns looking for work. (If this is a typo then let us know and disregard the rest of this post and your application is fine)
There is not really any other city besides Barkamsted. There are some small farming clusters around the city itself but beyond that the rest of the realm has been conquered by the Pact and is either occupied by the enemy or in ruins. This is the second time someone has made this mistake and it may be us who are at fault and we will take a look at the general lore and see about making this fact more clear. Make this small change and your app is a shoe in. However note that as time goes and and land is reclaimed towns could be reclaimed and used (Depends on players and player-base). In the end it is simply a misunderstanding on your part or our part, or both.

-Character name: Tandem
-Character race: Elf (High)
-Character age: 50
-Character Occupation (optional, note you still must talk to the lord about loaning or purchasing any stall/shop for your character if he/she would have one. Also be sure to give previous applications a glance before deciding your job, we don't need 5 bartenders!): Scholar/Scribe
-Character description(At least one to two paragraphs describing your character’s visual appearance.): Tandem stands tall, blonde hair and ice blue eyes scanning the horizon. He is usually seen carrying a book, a thick tome filled with lost knowledge or more likely, his personal journal. He isn't one for fighting, as can be seen in his gait, but the air around him seems to shimmer slightly
-Character personality and traits (At least one to two paragraphs describing their personality traits and/or quirks.): Tandem thinks highly of himself...even for a high elf. Looking down over his nose at the "lower races", he doesn't hate them, just thinks his own kind the better. Despite this particular bias he doesn't much care for politics and sociability, instead preferring books and scrolls to conversation. A book never lies, people do.
If I were to classify tandem on the old D&D alignment system. He's Lawful Neutral
-Character biography (At least three paragraphs describing your character's history and experiences): Tandem's parents narrowly escaped the fighting and looting of the war. Tandems mother managed to get safe before bearing him to his father, naming him and then shedding her mortal coil, exhausted from their flight and at the end of her life she passed after saying hello to her only son. Tandem's father raised him until adult hood himself and once he was called a man he left and struck out on his own...
And right into a library. Tandem grew up with a distrust and a dislike of the other races and while he could tolerate the wizened librarian he maintained distance from his fellows, only associating with true blooded elves and speaking only if forced to with non-elves. He spent much time at the library, eventually being given room and board by the old human in exchange for tending the cleaning and up keep the books. This was an acceptable arrangement.
When the librarian finally passed, Tandem moved on. Not wanting to be stuck in a musty building his entire life and feeling as if he'd learned enough of the past from the scholars of yore he left and began plying his trade as a scribe to make a living, penning letters and copying books for those unable to themselves. Of course this brought him into contact with many of the people whom he detested but he pocketed their coin all the same. He did have to eat after all.
Today Tandem is focused on his study of the arcane. Not so much for his own benefit but for the betterment of his kind, to restore the elven kingdom to its former glory, and possibly once done lead the humans and the dwarves to a better, more enlightened state as well.

Tandem doesn't care if the urchin is starving or not. There are plenty more charitble souls he could beg from. The law is the law and it must be adhered to.

Each school pertaining to a desired effect and the effect chosen by the caster. The caster must have a focus or item to channel his power through before any magic may be cast.

-Character name: Lanolar
-Character race: High Elf
-Character age: 33
-Character Occupation: Thief/Assassin
-Character description:

@MCRainSenpai
DENIED
@MCRainSenpai
ACCEPTED
However note that there are still a few errors in your application, and "I would use the trinket to make small flames to melt locks on doors and chest." is stretching it a bit thin, but we will let it slide this time rather than making you edit again. We will also be updating the magic rules to give players a better idea as to what each magical artifact is capable of based on power. As for your character having magic potential we will allow it, but you just barley made it, your reasoning was average and your explanations were very similar to our own, but it is acceptable. However, remember that abusing such things can result in punishment if you're not careful, so keep that in mind.
We hope to see you on release this 24th!

Picture of Vale for reference.
Ignore the Magic hand thing.

PENDING
I like your application as a whole, but there are a few issues that need to be fixed before we can accept you. Firstly, there is a contradiction between how old the city of Barkamsted is versus how old you are. Barkamsted is about 65 years old as a city, and you being 90 kinda makes it hard for you to have been born there Secondly, there are little to no other settlements besides Barkamsted that currently exist at the moment, because they were destroyed in the war. If you fix these errors then you should be good. Other than that, it is a wonderful and good job not killing the mothering wolf.
@P_Oxide
APPROVED
Thank you for fixing those issues.
We hope to see you on release this 24th!

Thank you to all those who applied on our Enjin site, but for the sake of publicity we would like to request that everyone post their applications here unless they have a specific reason for applying on the Enjin page.

Just wondering. Are there religions on the server? I might want to add one into my application.
Ooh, this server looks shiny.
Real Shiny.

(We only accept high quality magic applications!)
_______________________________________________________________________
As for the Skype chat, it's not for calls, but rather for text based chat between other players and admins, it's also a medium where we can post updates for everyone.

-Define Meta-gaming in your own words: Using or possessing knowledge your character IC wouldn't/couldn't know

-Describe to us why you wish for your character to have magical capabilities: Tandem knows, or rather believes, the magic is the way of restoring the former glory of the elves and the way of enlightenment for the other races. He spent much time reading as many tomes and scrolls as he could and it was only a matter of time before stumbling across some mention of the arcane and its power.
-Please give an example in your own words describing the limitations placed upon those who use magic: Magic can only be cast with the aid of a focus. The level and type of magic able to be summoned depends upon the qualities of the focus.
-Please give a simple description of the magic system in your own words: Magic takes the form of several schools without structured spells. Each school pertaining to a desired effect and the effect chosen by the caster. The caster must have a focus or item to channel his power through before any magic may be cast. The qualities of the focus affect what schools of magic and the level of power of magic can be channeled.
