Where are you from? What Time Zone?: Colorado, United States. | Mountain Time Zone (MTZ) (UTC-07:00)
How long have you been playing Minecraft?: Since Jan/Feb 2011.
What would you say are your best skills in Minecraft?: I'm very happy with my building design style. I feel that it is very unique and I try to use blocks that people don't usually build with to bring style and character into my builds. I also love making crazy shapes., I also can dedicate large amounts of time to server projects if needed. I've been playing the game for a few years now so I'm very familiar with the game.
What part of minecraft interests you the most?: SMP and SSP. Being part of a community is something I also tend to do regardless of what game I'm playing. The only other thing I do in minecraft besides building cool designs is gather resources. So I enjoy automating and creating ridiculous farms. I also really enjoy strip mining, I can probably mine for hours without noticing. Building really big projects is on my my favorite things to do in minecraft. Something about putting hours of work into a build and looking at the final project brings joy to me.
Have you ever played on a server similar to this?: Not exactly a technical server but I was part of Coestar's BitLimit Server for quite some time. Lead a town there with 6-10 members. My time on that server was the peak of my fun and interest in minecraft, we built big projects together and ultimately had a good time messing around.
Please show some examples of your builds(Photos or Videos : Don't have too many examples, but here is a video of my base I'm working on in a new world
How often do you plan on playing on the server?: Daily/ Every other day.
Do you have a mic?: Yes and I love communicating with people while I play.
Do you plan on recording while playing on the server?: Some tour videos if I am accepted. Possibly a lets play. I do stream on and off so I will most likely be streaming the server.
How do you plan on helping the server reach its goals?: I'm an easy guy to get a long with, I love helping others with builds and projects, I'd actually much rather work together with people that do things on my own. I can also provide the server with materials, I'm open about sharing my resources.
Just a little about myself: My name is John and I'm currently studying mechanical engineering. I'm also an artist working in the fine arts field. I play a large variety of games including World of Warcraft, ArcheAge, Tribes Ascend, PoE, Dialbo III, Guild Wars 2, GTA 5 and many others. Outside of gaming I love rock climbing and concerts/festivals. I'm easy to get along with and love helping others out. I'm pretty laid back and generally don't get frustrated easily.
Hope you guys consider my application, I've been looking for a server like yours for some time now.
Where are you from? What Time Zone?: USA, Central Time Zone
How long have you been playing Minecraft?: Since 0.0.20.
What would you say are your best skills in Minecraft?: I would say that the ability to use my vastly extensive knowledge of the game to create anything that I am in need of. Anywhere from Redstone heavy builds to game mechanics oriented creations.
What part of minecraft interests you the most?: The part of minecraft that I find the most interesting is the seemingly endless possibilities of gameplay that can be found throughout the minecraft community. Within those array of gameplay types I really enjoy the Vanilla Survival Multiplayer. The challenges that can be found in Vanilla SMP really ties in with my love of survival games and my knack for inventiveness.
Have you ever played on a server similar to this?: I have played extensively on a few different types of servers (SSP, Pvp SMP, Skygrid SMP, Whitelisted Vanilla SMP). In each case I focused greatly on the survival farms aspect of the game. I can not say that any of these servers describe themselves as an "advanced technical survival" server, but that did not stop me from pushing the gameplay to it's limits. In all cases I was the go to guy for everyone who had questions about game mechanics or had problems with redstone. That being said I spend most of my time designing and building the numerous community farms that I believed the server needed. But it seemed that by the time I finished with the community builds the server would reset, not allowing me to work on any of my 'end game' creations.
Please show some examples of your builds(Photos or Videos):
How often do you plan on playing on the server?: One to three hours per day. Less on weekends with fair weather.
Do you have a mic?: I have a $60 headset with microphone.
Do you plan on recording while playing on the server?: I plan on recording showcase of my inventions. Mostly likely not on the server unless it is my invention in working order.
How do you plan on helping the server reach its goals?: I plan on helping out on the server however I am needed. I am good at brainstorming and designing contraptions for whatever the situation calls for. I love puzzles of all sorts (completed The Nightmare on Christmas puzzle map in about seven hours of spare time) and will help with any problem solving if asked appropriately. I do try to avoid large amounts of spam clicking with my fingers, like intensive block placement or punching thousands of mobs by hand.
Questions?: I was wondering if the server seed is public to the members being that it is a technical server? Are personal projects allowed, like a minigame or a goofy pumpkin farm?
I am grateful for you taking the time to read my application!
Where are you from? What Time Zone?: I live in the United States of America - Central Standard Time
How long have you been playing Minecraft?: I've been playing Minecraft roughly around 4 years, since late alpha early beta.
What would you say are your best skills in Minecraft?: My greatest skill in Minecraft would have to be building, I love building! I've always enjoyed making things look very nice in Minecraft, with lots of detail and planning going into my builds. Now I do understand that your server is mainly based around the technical side of Minecraft, which I am somewhat good at, however my use of game mechanics and knowing how the game works in general is what I am also very good in.
What part of minecraft interests you the most?: Building interests me the most, by far. I really enjoy building and making things look nice, as said above, so I do believe I could make somewhat of a change in the community, bringing a different aspect of the game into the server. Though, I do also enjoy discovering and creating new things within the game as well. Whether it's building something completely new and original, or discovering a new game mechanic or redstone secret. I've always enjoyed creating my own ideas and have found it very fun and adventurous!
Have you ever played on a server similar to this?: I actually have played on a couple of servers similar to this. Though, like most of them, the "community" just dies out and no plays or communicates with anyone anymore. That's why I've been searching and and searching for a server and community like you guys! A server with people who love to play survival Minecraft and put loads of effort into their projects, while maintaining a friendly community where everyone helps each other and works as a team to accomplish their goals!
Please show some examples of your builds(Photos or Videos): Here's my imgur of a few smaller builds I did back for a Build Team called Eluthria, we worked for a server called MineVast, building spawns, ect. - http://ishelbzz.imgur.com/all/ If you need more then I'll send you the PMC link as well.
How often do you plan on playing on the server?: Usually, on weekdays, I would play around 2-4 hours a day, since I have school, sports, and other academic occurrences. Though, on weekends, I would probably be on the server most of the day, since I don't usually have much of anything going on during the weekends, I'd spend most of the day on the server chilling with others!
Do you have a mic?: Yes sir I do! A Logitech
Do you plan on recording while playing on the server?: Sadly, I do not plan on recording any type of series on the server to start. I may however do a few videos were I go around showing off completed builds and such, kinda like a "tour" of sorts, but no, no video series. I don't have any video series on my channel in fact, so it has nothing to do with the server! Just something I don't find enjoyable.
How do you plan on helping the server reach its goals?: I plan on helping the server reach its goals by being there for the community during group projects and such. I would also be very loyal and trustworthy toward all member of the community and help them in any way I can. I would enjoy being apart of projects and helping in any and every way possible, helping the server reach its goals in builds, and in the community. Because in the end, we're all here to have fun playing survival Minecraft, and enjoy playing the game with a small, strong community of friends who have a simple goal of helping out the server and reaching its goals!
I thank you for reading and considering my application, and I know any decision you make is for the best of the community and server!
Sorry for the delay we are reviewing your apps now, if there is any other information you would like to add specifically with regards to redstone and game mechanic knowledge edit your post and we will be sure to see it
The seed is public to all members, Yes. And Personal projects are allowed, however I, and I believe the others would agree, like to focus on our important team builds that we would like to get done aswell as builds that will benefit the group as a whole. Although a mini-game area is something we would like to do in the future. Thanks for the App. Reviewing it currently.
If you compare your application to the people that have been accepted onto the server you will notice that your application lacks in a lot of detail compared to those accepted. Although you are technical, or claim to be, we found insufficient effort in the application processes and nowhere near enough examples of what you can do and why you would really help benefit the community. The age part can probably be swung if you demonstrate sophistication, maturity and not only redstone competence but redstone excellence with demonstrations on things that you have designed not just recreated from a tutorial.
people for the server, and the applications are still open. I
understand that the server has been on for several months, so a lot
of things have been finished. As I am sure you do not check this post
everyday, I will wait more than the two days you specify in the
introduction to receive a response. I will wait in anticipation for
more than a week before I start to give it up. I want you to know
that this opportunity has been my Minecraft dream ever since I
started playing. I will not easily give this opportunity up. Your
server sounds like an amazing seed and an amazing group of individuals.
My email is (removed for security). (removed for security) is my Skype
name.
IGN:
Wyvert. This is my standard username for most
games. It started when I played a more kid-like game, dragon story.
It was a game of breeding dragons and collecting coins, but while I
was playing it, I did calculations to maximize my profits as well as
getting rare dragons. I spent many hours on the wiki and even helped
update it from time to time. I put the same effort into my Minecraft
everyday. A wyvern is a dragon-type being with two back legs and two
wings in front instead of forelegs. My name came from this as a
wyvert would likely be someone who trains and rides wyverns. All this
math and dedication goes into my Minecraft planning every day and
week. To create and optimize is a great part of games.
Age:
17. I am a Junior in my high school near the top of my class. I
spend my free time on documents, writing down and drawing ideas for
Minecraft machinery for me to create.
Where are you from? What Time Zone?
I currently live in California. That is the Pacific
Time Zone (UTC-8:00). I have lived in other places before, like
Virginia and Hungary, but most of my life I have lived in California.
This is mostly irrelevant though as I like to play all throughout the
day. I can move my play time to almost any time (especially on the
weekends), so I can be incorporated into any large community
event.
How long have you been playing Minecraft?
I first bought my Minecraft account at the end of 2012. I got it during the
1.4.6 update, so I have been playing for a long time and know the
game really well. All my friends think me a guru for Minecraft and
always come to me whenever they have a question. Physics and
mechanics in games are absolutely my favorite part. Everything that
was in the game before 1.4.6 I consider extremely innate to the game.
I have known it to be true like it is second nature. Everything after
1.4.6 I know a great deal about because I constantly watch videos
about the game, updates and innovations and do my own research in my
test world.
What would you say are your best skills in
Minecraft?
I am pretty talented in redstone, and I enjoy building
farms centered around some kind of resource or another. I love
collecting resources and watching mobs move around how I want them
to. My knowledge about mobs encompasses (and is significantly above)
all of what is in Xisuma's myth busting series as well as some of
pi3141592653589793234626's knowledge. My redstone experience is built
up of making redstone contraptions over the years and watching
technical people build more and more elaborate devices like large
doors and optimized staircases. Everything else can be researched
firsthand. I have done countless hours of firsthand research as well
and enjoy the information grind.
I love connecting things together
as well. Creating something unique is very fun, but having it work in
tandem with something else is incredibly fun. This is how redstone
works, a lot of small machines connected together. One thing leads to
the next, and before you know it, something brilliant is made.
What part of Minecraft interests you the most?
I absolutely love
building farms and collecting resources. To see what I have created
come to life is an amazing feeling. I love working out the logic for
something, it provides a refreshing challenge. I really like what the
ZipKrowd server does and also OctopusCraft server (A Chinese technical
server). I love watching people like Xisuma, MumboJumbo, Docm77, and
Ethoslab who do fairly technical things on a regular basis. It really
is the best part of the game.
Have you ever played on a server similar to this?
I have searched the forums fairly often to find a
sever like this. I have wanted a long time to join a technical
server. Servers similar to ZipKrowd and OctopusCraft have awed me.
Regardless, I have not been a part of a real technical server. I have
been looking desperately for the opportunity, but none have ever come
up. That is why in my old single player world the very first project
I worked on was a six chunk slime farm. It is also why I started my
own server with a technical take. Unfortunately on this server I was
usually playing by myself and my brother. Everyone else seemed to lose
interest in my more technical style of play.
Please show some
examples of your builds (photos or videos):
This is a slide show, use the arrows as there are quite a few photos.
Video:
This is a seperate video showing some of my build on my survival world as well as in my test world.
Some words to go along the pictures and video:
This is an
overview of my base right now.
This is my storage system/inner
base.
One of an earlier creation, a fun little derpy
trashcan.
A fun chicken jockey.
An Ocean Monument
farm.
The same farm from above.
A witch hut inspired by
several youtubers.
The first thing I made: a basic iron
farm.
A tree farm very similar to the one created by
OctopusCraft.
A farm made by Unarybit, but modified by me on
the underneath.
A custom reed farm. This can be scaled and
tiled to be very efficient.
A great vine farm. This can be
adapted to an AFK model by simply putting some alternating water
streams in front.
A basic gold farm until I make a better
one.
A unique mushroom farm that also has a fishtank item
display run off the same clock.
A skeleton farm that I am
about to make into an AFK XP design using the dog auto-hunting
mechanic of skeletons.
A twisty micro-farm made without
testing in creative first, but one that I want to update.
A really fast design for an industrial furnace array. It also uses the
same lightning fast speed distributing both the fuel and materials to
be smelted. I really do take pride in this design.
Just a simple thing to get mushroom blocks.
An adaptation of a device
from Unarybit and MilkyWay to make a neat and slim villager
selector.
A very compact lottery machine. (A friend of mine
gained 16 diamonds and then lost forty to an earlier version
:))
Another view of the same device.
An extremely fast
trashcan.
The outside of my silverfish XP farm.
The inside of my silverfish XP farm.
An obsidian farm utilizing a
more advanced form of the boat wither cage designed by jiyu maple. I
intentionally offset it by one from the center so the player could
enter the end without the wither directly in his face.
The obsidian farm from the outside.
An enderman farm using several
water tricks. Above, the water is contained by it flowing down into
the center without flowing down the sides of the machine. The water
underneath the carpet floor doesn't allow the endermen to teleport
there, allowing the ceiling to be much higher than the standard 2.5
blocks. I made it roughly 5 blocks up.
Here you can see the farm uses the super cheap endermite platform
introduced by the ZipKrowd.
Here is my flower farm that can produce nine types
of flowers, as well as seeds (which I have a filter to throw
away).
The build is complete with a compact, triple tandem
item sorter.
I am currently working on a machine that will
utilize similar mechanics to the one-wide village trading hall
designed by MilkyWay as well as villagers stacking whilst in
minecarts to make an extremely compact and sleek supercharged
villager trading hall. The villagers will be extremely close, and the
initial testing has gone really well. I would adore to build this on
the server.
Unfortunately, this the world and test world in
the pictures are only from the last couple months. My large builds
were lost in a hard drive failure. I haven't made large builds yet in
my world in order to store up resources. If I continue playing in the
same world I will begin building very large projects soon.
How
often do you plan on playing on the server?:
I would play
everyday, for several hours when given the opportunity. The
opportunity comes especially often on the weekends, and this is when
I would be most active. I would definitely be on the server on the weekdays too,
just maybe only for an hour or a few.
Do you have a microphone?
I do. I bought a Blue Yeti Microphone specifically for
recording. I love to experiment with it and I am an actor, so I love to
use it. People have asked for me to record some voice overs for
events, so I am sure I could even do an LP with at least moderate
success.
Do you plan on recording while playing on the server?
I do very much plan on recording on the server. I think
that it would be great to be able to assist in getting the server
known through an LP.
How do you plan on helping the server reach its goals?
I am very good at planning a project and being
able to determine who should do what. I also am self-motivated to do
a good job on projects, and my ambitions are only limited by time.
However, with this crew, that will not be any problem. I would
really love to help you guys out with community projects and
assisting and innovating in designing. I really would like working
along someone to talk through together to make a machine. Multiple
minds working together can come up with new ways to do something and
combine mechanics to create beautiful works of art I call redstone.
I am also very versatile and if asked to learn about something or use a
mostly-unknown game mechanic, I can dedicate myself to learning
everything about that mechanic and how to utilize it. I am the person
you need.
Further comments:
Do you have a spot on the
server with more than one guardian temple? I have built one guardian
temple farm. It was a very fun build. It also is a naturally very
efficient farm, no matter how you decide to make it. I think I have
figured out a way to add an additional spawn area above the original
ZipKrowd design while still killing guardians extremely quickly as I explain in my
video. This can be made even more stably if a new bedrock breaking mechanic is
found. If you know of one, please contact me. All the ones I have
known were fixed in 1.8.3. The collection area can be made at the
lowest bedrock layer, allowing space above to make a ridiculously
fast farm. If two (or more!) ocean monuments were in the same place,
it could lead to an ABSOLUTE BEAST of a farm. I would love to start
this project if someone has not already. I also want to work on a
really big slime farm. I have some ideas on how to make it really
fast and really efficient. I would like to start work on this on the
test server right away and then work on it over on the actual
server.
Can you send me your contact information? Even if you
do not accept me onto the server, I would like to keep in touch and
bat ideas off of each other to make fantastic machines and
innovations.
Age: Just turned 16. Had to wait for this application until now
Where are you from? What Time Zone?: Buenos Aires, Argentina
How long have you been playing Minecraft?: Since version 1.2
What would you say are your best skills in Minecraft?: I would probably say its the grindy, long term projects that tend to keep me busy most of the time. I can spent hours just listening to music gathering sand, mining or things like that without getting bored.
What part of minecraft interests you the most?: Mob-farming is by far the best part of the game in my opinion. Also, making things look decent enough is very important to me.
Have you ever played on a server similar to this?: I played on a vanilla smp server that is now on its 3rd season. However, the fact that it is not a technical server didn´t let me do all the projects i wanted to do because of either being such a big project for one man alone or not letting me because of the instability of the server.
Please show some examples of your builds(Photos or Videos): See images attached
How often do you plan on playing on the server?: A lot, considering that when it comes to minecraft i do nothing else but playing survival and it being the game i play the most. Probably about 2 to 3 hours per day in a week’s average
Do you have a mic?: A bad one but it still does the job.
Do you plan on recording while playing on the server?: No unless i get the courage needed to do so.
How do you plan on helping the server reach its goals?: I want to see every farm thats possible in survival in its maximum efficiency.
Where are you from? What Time Zone?: Mexico City UTC -5 hours[/b]

Regards,
~Shelbzz
If you compare your application to the people that have been accepted onto the server you will notice that your application lacks in a lot of detail compared to those accepted. Although you are technical, or claim to be, we found insufficient effort in the application processes and nowhere near enough examples of what you can do and why you would really help benefit the community. The age part can probably be swung if you demonstrate sophistication, maturity and not only redstone competence but redstone excellence with demonstrations on things that you have designed not just recreated from a tutorial.

I really hope that you still need some
people for the server, and the applications are still open. I
understand that the server has been on for several months, so a lot
of things have been finished.
Your
server sounds like an amazing seed and an amazing group of individuals.

name.
IGN:

For ALL of you that want to have a excellent chance to get in follow Wyvert's example!!!!

Do you mind making your album public?
IGN: RidPMC
Ill be expecting your reply
Reviewing your application. Can you send some farm designs you made? I would be interested.
