What is the total map size block block wise? And will the entire map be out on the initial release? Sometimes servers release one part at the start and add on later.
What is the total map size block block wise? And will the entire map be out on the initial release? Sometimes servers release one part at the start and add on later.
As of the posting of this, I am going to measure the exact block length of the current map. I'll be sure to edit in the exact numbers.
Here's our exact philosophy on maps -
To begin, the map will be relatively small, starting with the (somewhat isolated) Weyrest island, on a lake in-between Cromjin and Lylur territories. This is quite easily a city, however, and features two separate large sides (port and inner city), as well as a somewhat large market district. We're also planning to add onto Weyrest as we see fit in RP.
Our philosophy is we are going to be adding onto the map through use of "expansions". These expansions will usually be RP significant and will be kicked off with a rather large event, leading to a new area throughout the lore we've already made. These expansions will be worked on in the background by our build team.
This allows us to, as we increase in size and scope, allow players to visit different areas throughout Mirai without posing the issue of having a massive map and not enough people to fill it.
Weyrest, that being said, is still relatively large, and is by no means small. I've gotten several comments on how the city is intimidating to look at and navigate, and with events and edits to the city there should be enough variety until the first expansion, which we're already planning and working on.
EDIT: Weyrest, including about 50 to 100 blocks of water surrounding the island, is about:
784 blocks by 704 blocks. The entire city also includes a bit of a small forest surrounding it, and cliffs on every side. For a basic image of Weyrest before coming on, all banners for the server are pictures of Weyrest.

What roles will the staff be playing on the server? - I know that other servers place the admins into power IC'ly and OOC'ly, which kind of boring. Will the staff be the emperors / high ranking in the social tree? Or will they be as equals to the players.
Staff get to create their own characters just like players. We will also be taking event characters (emperors, high ranking, et cetera) when they are needed, but never as permanent characters. To my knowledge, this is how our characters are filing out right now:

This is good. The concept for the last server I had was that the staff actually played no characters, they only played event characters. All IC and power and the like was controlled by the players. It was recommended pretty often that they at least have a main character instead of a huge variety of event characters.
The rest of his family decided to stay on their long-lost island off the coast of the North-West, and have presumably died along with the island.
In your biography. This slipped my mind, but technically is against lore, as the Sastrama island was destroyed... about 1900 years ago.
To explain technology setbacks, there's been... well, a lot of war. And unrest. But yeah, realistically your character would have died about 1800 years ago, so you might want to revise that.
This is not something that's keeping you from being whitelisted, it's just something that slipped our reviewal process and we'd like you to change.
Thanks, sorry for the inconvenience! (Also, the "motherland" is destroyed - Sastrama live in no direct place, and tend to migrate from land to land.)
Hey, just wanted to bring to attention a little slip-up that happened in our application process.
In your application, you stated that...

Alright, I'll keep that in mind, and change that little part to "He family deceased of unknown reasons" or something along those lines if that is alright, thanks!
I'll also assume, that his Old Brother, and Two Sisters grew up together with no parent figures in their lives. And that this part of the story of my character is present. So basically: Scratch the island part, and change to that his parent figures died when they were young, or something along those lines.
-snip until...- So basically: Scratch the island part, and change to that his parent figures died when they were young, or something along those lines.
Pretty much. The island part still happened... it just happened 1900 years ago, so omit that from your application along with anything mentioning the island or it getting destroyed. Still pretty important for your playing as a Sastrama (as OOC knowledge), and your family can have ancestry there, but -probably- didn't live there.

How did you find us?: Perusing the vast recesses of the internet for a minecraft RP, I came upon this up and coming server that look very promising as the first thread on the Objective servers.
Why do you want to join?:
Quality RP's are hard to come by these days, especially those with a dedicated player base. I've been looking for quite some time and I believe this server has a quality back story and the ability to be a very good server. I'm a big fan of Minecraft, and RPG's, and a server like this seems like a great if not perfect fit for me. Opportuniites to jump in tha the beginning of an RP from the start and one that will probably follow a very interesting story line do not come along very often. An opportunity has presented itself finally, in Mirai. To not take such an opportunity when it has been presented to me so perfectly would be a huge mistake. I want to join to have some quality RP, and most RP servers around are pretty shallow. This server presents an in depth experience, one where I can see myself playing in with other people and fulfilling the ultimate goal of all Rp's and the game of Minecraft, to have loads of fun.
What role-play experience do you have (if any?):
I've briefly played a couple of play by posts on forums and played Elder Scrolls online for some time but nothing huge on that front. Quality Minecraft Rp's are a rare breed and though I've played a few, none give you a real in character experience. Most of them are played on an ooc level where one has to generate a true experience in their own mind. Only one server I played on for an extended period of time had stringent rules like this server that make it a true in character experience.
Definitions: Please give a full description of each IN YOUR OWN WORDS. You will be expected to abide by these definitions on the server. You giving these definitions is a way of showing us you understand them and agree to follow them in role-play.
Define Meta-gaming (keep in mind there are two types, OOC and IC):
In-character metagaming entails using information someone has given you or that you have obtained personally outside of the game and using it to inform in character decisions. Perhaps you know you are fighting someone soon in game, so you look up his weakness. When the fight comes you defeat him owing completely to the fact that you knew his weakness, though your character in game had never learned the weakness himself, and shouldn't have been able to use it against the adversary in battle. Out of character is utilizing information gained in character to take advantage of someone out of character Ex. You learn X's dark secret in character. Than you use this information to blackmail him to do what you want in game, all out of character, or you will tell Y and Z.
Define Power-gaming (there are technically 2 definitions, the other is also referred to as Power-emoting):
Most definitions mesh the two of these together. In general, it's forcing actions or consequences of actions upon a fellow player without giving them a chance to respond to said action. An example would be "X chops off Y's arm with his axe" while an acceptable way would be phrasing as "X swings his axe at Y's arm". In essence, the first chops his arm off no questions asked. The second gives your fellow RP'er the opportunity to not lose one of his limbs and defend himself in general.
Define Role-playing:
It's really in the definition. Basically, it's playing a role. Normally one vastly different from yourself to enhance the experience. This character is separated from you and the actions he or she takes as well as skills and intelligence levels are taken and decided on using this character's own skill set. While I may be the person that is controlling my character, I must think when play my character, what would he or she do, not what I, me myself would do in the situation that has been presented to my character over the course of the role playing experience.
Define God-modding:
It's making your character pretty much invincible, infallible and generally immortal. Generally it is characterized as an overpowered character, who can do ridiculous things at any time, and escape any hard situation with ease thanks to his "super speed" and his IQ of 5,000. My example would be having Merciful Qin being held captive by three captors. By divine intervention, he somehow manages to overpower his stronger captor, kill him and all those around him who are armed to the teeth and sprint away at speeds faster than any car. Or flying away.
IC:
Name: Fosstan (Foss)
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Race (pick one of the races we have made, no creating your own): Cromjin
Character description: (describe and analyze. Please make sure this follows the lore stated for your race. Clothing they would wear on a daily basis can be included too.)
Fosstan stands at a relatively small 5 foot eleven inches. He weighs about average and has a relatively weak build, he was not built to do manual labor as a profession or anything involving combat. He has greenish tinted eyes and sports brown hair that is short in back while in front has just enough to leave a shadow over the eyes. He has olive skin that nearly matches his hair and a more pointed nose and eyes to round out most of the complexion of his face. Fosstan rarely wears leather outfits, opting for cloths made of wool and cotton. When it is cold he sometimes chooses to wear a hat that had a drop down part for his ears. His footwear is on the lighter side, making little sound as he moves throughout the city on his way to his destination, whether that be to his job, home or for some leisurely opportunity.
Character personality: (Just talk about the character as a person for a second. What are their aspirations in life? Why do they have these? These can reference your bio. Also talk about your character and their feelings towards things, such as possible racism towards other races, hate (or love) for organizations, et cetera.)
Overall, Fosstan is an ambitious young man, hoping to one day serve on the council or higher. His political ambition is unfortunately accompanied by a great impatience to attain great powers. He will go to any lengths to achieve it, whether it be throwing a friend under the bus or doing things that may not be considered very ethical by most. He can be very conceited to anyone he believes to be below him in status regardless of race but very nice if that person can fuel his ambition. He has a respect for the fact that for the most part the races of Mirai have been able to live in peace despite some racial prejudices of others. Another strange respect is his admiration for magic and might have went down that path had it not meant social ostracizing if he learned it, he still may. One final characteristic is a deep sense of paranoia towards people. Generally Foss is not a trusting person, but if you get to him somehow, he will put his complete trust in you.
Your character is sitting at a bar in a crowded inn. A bard strums his lute in the corner, while the rest of the inn drinks and sings along. Suddenly, the barkeep yells at you, claiming that you need to pay for your drink still. You have already paid in full for your drink. How do you proceed?:
Foss rarely looks for any type of fight. He would first politely tell the barkeep that he mistaken. If he persists, Foss would usually fork over the cash to avoid any bad reputation an attempt to skirt on a bill could do. Following that, he would usually try to slink back into the crowd or look for a friend there to help get over the incident for which he has been exposed to.
Your character sits in a tree at night, staring at the skies and thinking to yourself. You look down to the street below, and you see a woman being mugged at knifepoint in the middle of the street! What do you do?:
Foss would sit quietly in the tree at first, eventually he would run off looking for some sort of authority or a big man who happens to be armed. Getting his own throat slit is not the best idea for Foss. There are guards for a reason, and playing hero with little training in combat would not end cleanly. He truly wants to help her, but his fear paralyzing him for the most part and going anywhere near the scene of the crime unnerves Foss as he navigates the streets of Weyrest on his own business. He need to interfere in the business of others too.
Character biography:
Foss was born the third son and fifth child of two Cromjin farmers on the border of the capitol. Most of his young life was dominated by helping out with the farm, which he did not leave until he grew older. His first trip into capitol to sell grain with his father left quite an image as the city actually impressed him. For a boy with little experience of the world, the capitol was massive and only than did he realize that the world had to offer more than just farming. He left home as soon as he came of age with little on his back to travel the world. He lived off his own labor and the kindness of others as he visited the other cities in the Cromji Empire and learned the way of government. He soon joined up with a group of travelers seeing the world, which comprised of people from every race. At that point he learned the stories of the friends around him and visited everywhere with them. One trip was to the mother tribe of the Sastrama, another to visit the De'asllo and learn about their culture. Eventually, there was little he had not been other than to the forest where the Lylur make their home. Eventually, as he aged his knew he had his fun, and had to find some place to settle down. He eventually left his group in Weyrest, enjoying the fusion of cultures that a border city represents.
At first he considered perusing knowledge in magic that his Sastraman friends were familiar with, but decided it would not be wise at the point in his young life to do what is considered a taboo. Eventually finding a job as an assistant innkeeper, he would learn about the government through the tales of traveling workers of it. Studying in his spare time, he hopes to find a job with the bank sooner than later to fuel his ambitions. He had tried unsuccessfully to get some sort of administrative government job but found it was harder to get in at first. To bide his time he hoped to find a profession that is easier to transfer from, like a banker instead of some random barkeep. He applied for the job once, but his lack of knowledge was what prevented him from landing the job. Coming a long way since his first app, soon he hopes to land a job with the bank and move forward from that point and will be applying again.
After he turned 26, he set out to return to his parents after about ten years away. In that time he found them still in lives he now considered boring along with his sibling. They felt betrayed by him, that he had left the family selfishly for his own good, not the good of the family. A formerly loving relationship had been strained. He has kept in touch with his siblings, especially his older brothers and sister and their relationship has always been good. One day, he hopes to be able to show his parents he cares for them by sending them money to pay for equipment and the likes, and meet up with his family.
Though he know little about the Mage's guild, his old friends all knew some sort of magic and his unwillingness to learn from them has always bothered him. Shortly before studying banking he flirted with joining the guild but ultimately decided against it. The allure and excitement of magic is still there, and sometimes interferes with his desire to serve in government. Over the years magic was the one idea he truly loved, and represents an escape from the boring life he lives now. Only time will tell if his desire to practice magic may overcome his ambition for power and give up everything he has worked for up to this point.
Hi pepster, I'll be reviewing your application today. Sorry about the delay, the person who was SUPPOSED to review your application (coughcoughTygawcoughcough) has finals all week and had studying to do all of last weekend. Sorry if it was too much of an inconvenience, I know it looks like we skipped you.
Definitions in general:
Because you didn't do any of these wrong by any means, I'll just pile them together to save us both time. Looks good, exactly what I wanted, and with examples.
Character description:
Great, except that 5"11 isn't that short for Cromjin. But that's okay, everything else looks sound.
Character personality:
Very in-depth. Hope you carry these traits into the character when you play him!
RP Example #1:
Good, reflects on character's cognitive ability and wanting not to get into a fight (I'll presume that has to do with weakness stated in your description, though I may be mistaken.)
RP Example #2:
Very true to your character and what we'd realistically do in most cases of the example.
Biography:
Don't see any lore discrepancies, good show of character's desires and wants for role-play. Please note though, that history tells that the Cromjin Empire has greatly disapproved of magic, and has for thousands of years. If your character was raised around the capital and strives to be in Cromjin government, any attempts to do so after relation with magic may have consequences. Just something to keep in mind when you play the character is all.
Consensus:
Outstanding application, did everything I'm looking for in an app and then added some. Because of the reasons above, consider yourself approved, and will be whitelisted with all other people who were approved on December 13th.
Thanks for applying, hope to see you on soon!
(also, terribly sorry about the delay, we're still getting things sorted out.)
(Sorry for the hideous IC section. I swear it's this form >.>)

How did you find us?: A bird came and whispered it into my ear (*cough* Chrosmatic *cough*)
Why do you want to join?: Well I've been roleplaying for about a two years now, mostly on a forum however. Though I want to get back into my minecraft days, or atleast revisit them for nostalgias sake and this looked like a quaint lil' roleplay server so I decided:
"Hey, why not?"
What role-play experience do you have: As just stated I have roleplayed for about two years on a forum and I do realize it is much different and to that I say: I have been on minecraft roleplay servers before too. :3
Define Meta-gaming: Using information not known to the character in an in character scenario. OOC metagaming is similar, just it is setting up rendevous points and strategies through the Out Of Character chat and not with actual characters.
This is to keep the roleplay more immersive and make more more sense.
Define Power-gaming: Doing things that are impossible due to the limits of your character. An example of this would be flying without wings, or walking on water while not being Jesus.
This gives restraints to characters so that they may have suitable limits.
Define Role-playing: Playing a role. (Okay, okay)
Jumping into a another's shoes and playing them as if you were them yourself. Communicating with others, or expressing the character through dialogue or actions.
Define God-modding: Committing actions that are not yours to take. An example would be moving another one's character without their permission or punching them in the face and sending them back, without their chance to block.
We do not do this because it disturbs the roleplay and can make things go absolutely nowhere and makes it feel as if only one person is playing.
IC:
Lewyn Vessalius
"The man with the wind's desire..."
Age: 29
Gender: Male
Race: Cromjin (Run away)
Character description (Use picture as minor reference):
Unlike most people of his race, Lewyn boasts long and illuminate long green hair. However, like most would suggest it is the work of severe dying and hair product dosage. If one looks deep into his scalp it can easily be seen that his hair was once a black colour. While his hair looks completely natural to the outside eye, it has a fake feeling to it that can easily give it away. Other than that, he wears a ragged scarf in his locks and any accessory he thinks might please the ladies.
As for his body he is a rather medium sized fellow at about six feet and has a habit of wearing poor and cheap looking clothing, despite his wealth. The only thing that would look slightly expensive is the earrings he keeps in both his ears, that look to be pure diamond. Whether they are real or not, we'll never know. He always seems to say yes, but he can be a bit of a compulsive liar at times...
Other than that Lewyn has sea green eyes and always be seen carrying around a harp (or nothing if there are too many bards).
Character personality:
Lewyn is a laid back, flirtatious bard (or dancer) who never seems to frown. Always he has a grin to his face, looking to make people smile and ladies blush. He's always had a soft spot for the females, always cutting them deals, doing whatever they want. He can be summed up as kind of a sucker (especially if they're pretty) however he can be quite trustworthy and will do what needs to be done given the time. He's relaxed and you can tell him anything and he'll do his best to give his two senses on it, even if his opinion may be asinine at times. He's also a bit silly and can kind of be arrogant at times. Despite his air headed appearance though, he's actually quite bright.. studious at the very least.
He's always had a curiosity in magic, even though it was taboo and has studied it any time he's had the chance. Because of this he was quite knowledgeable on the topic and seeks to start learning it while he makes money doing his bard/dancing get up at a local inn. However right now he's travelling, looking for a place to crash.
He despises his race's government and will do anything to look apart from it.
Your character is sitting at a bar in a crowded inn. A bard strums his lute in the corner, while the rest of the inn drinks and sings along. Suddenly, the barkeep yells at you, claiming that you need to pay for your drink still. You have already paid in full for your drink. How do you proceed?:
A smile grew on Lewyn's face as the bar tender approaches him, a bill in hand. Normally he would be complaining but the bar tender was the cuttttest girl he had ever laid eyes on. Her black hair hung perfectly off her back, her cheeks rosy red and her face absolutely charming. Lewyn couldn't help but nod in response to her angry approach, getting out his wallet, preparing to pay the bill despite the fact he had already paid it.
"How much was it? 500, 2000, 1000000?" Lewyn blurted out without a seconds thought.
The bar tender's look grew confused and she handed down the piece a paper and crossed her arms. "I just came to return your receipt, you stormed off with a smile on your face before I could give it to you. Stop blabbering random numbers..." The lady responded.
Lewyn grabbed the piece of paper with all the prices written on it in perfect handwriting and gave her a chip smile. "Ah, ha ha. I see, ah well if your ever in town-"
"I'm always in town." The lady interrupted.
"Ahaha, perfect. Well I was just going to say if you wanted to... you know, hangout? I assure you, it'll be a time you'll never forget!" Lewyn said in his most charming voice.
"Forget it snake-eyes, I've got a husband already! Now please, get out. You've been here for 5 hours!"
At that exact moment Lewyn felt his complexion go pale and his skin go numb as he reluctantly nodded. The walk of shame out the bar was the biggest pride killer he had ever faced. Ever step brought another drunk laughter his way, and a little bit more confidence shattered...
Your character sits in a tree at night, staring at the skies and thinking to yourself. You look down to the street below, and you see a woman being mugged at knifepoint in the middle of the street! What do you do?:
Lewyn sat to himself against a tree, crying his eyes out from the whole bar scene. Contemplating whether he should just hang himself on this tree. But just before he could commit he saw a young lass getting mugged by a big gruff man. Instinctively he ran over to the scene with his hero's pose and stopped the man before he could make away with the object in hand.
"Stop there friend. No hard feelings, but I gotta stop you. I just can't have you ruining the lives of every day women. Now drop that purse and make it easy for yourself." Lewyn called out, trying to cover up his over-righteous attitude.
The man grit his teeth for a moment and decided to throw Lewyn the bag and dash off. Apparently Lewyn's muscles looked huge in the dark. As the bag hit his hand he opened it to see the goods, but all he saw was a stuffed bunny. He turned around, to see that the girl was only seven years old... It was at this moment Lewyn cursed his faulty night vision, he could've swore the girl was older!
"Thank you mister! Can you walk me home too, I'll let you hold my bunny if you do~!" The girl thanked and hugged Lewyn's legs.
"Alrighty, I mean I guess it's the least I could do. For such a cute... little girl." He replied, astounded by her cuteness as she handed him her bunny rabbit to hold on their walk.
It was clear Lewyn was not getting lucky today, but atleast he helped someone...
Character biography:
Lewyn was born to a wealthy in the capital Cromjin where he was a well treated child to two beautiful parents. He was always respected there and always followed the codes set by society, but deep down, his father hid his hatred for the race. Secretly his father was a far desdent of a famous mage and took much pride in it, but felt terrible because he had to cover it up to keep himself safe. However he kept books in a secret stash, that one day, Lewyn got into and also got hooked on the idea. Together he and his father studied, speaking of the day they would sneak outside the city and out to a teacher who could show them the ropes of magic.
Their day was upon them, but when Lewyn returned home he saw his father being taking away by government officials to be imprisoned. Of course this did not stop Lewyn, for his father... and for him he would discover the truth to magic. Since he had an aptitude for instruments he took his harp and ran off to be a travelling bard to hopefully make a living.

What do you do?: Lewyn sat to himself against a tree, crying his eyes out from the whole bar scene. Character biography: Lewyn was born to a wealthy in the capital Cromjin where he was a well treated child to two beautiful parents.
Hello there, my name's Liamade and I'll be looking over your app!
Define Meta-gaming: I found your definition of meta gaming covered everything that was needed
Define Role-playing: Once again short, sweet, and it will pass. However we would still like elaboration. We stress this mainly because we feel these definitions are important examples for future applicants.
Define Power Gaming And God-Modding: This was a slight error with this, your definitions need to be switched. You have the right idea however you've written under the wrong definition slot. Besides this not much is wrong, but we'd like you to elaborate upon your definitions of both, especially the definition of God-Modding! You're missing something but very important, I suggest you re-read the rules surrounding this.
General Character Description: I found your character's personality and appearance we're both very entertaining and intriguing, and the art-work is spectacular! I haven't seen many "Lady-Killer" types, I personally find these character's hilarious and can evoke very "Interesting" RP. As for your general appearance, I'm glad to see you emphasized how different he is from his fellow Cromjin due to his height and "wild" hair.
RP Examples: You had a rather unique outlook on this, not many people went that far into elaboration and a lot was said about your character in these examples.
Bio: This was one of the only few things that needed improvement, we'd simply like to see more elaboration so you have more information to use during RP. Give examples of say, what it was like growing up with a father like his, how he came to be such a "romantic", how his mother reacted to his father being taken away, etc.
So overall I feel your app was outstanding however three small things need alteration before you can be accepted.
Switch the power gaming and god-modding definitions
Look over the rules for the feature you are missing in your god-modding definition
Elaborate on your bio
Other than that everything was outstanding, please make the above stated changes and we'll be glad to accept! -Liamade
RP Examples: You had a rather unique outlook on this, not many people went that far into elaboration and a lot was said about your character in these examples.
I should also mention you had us laughing pretty hard, so props for the genuine creativity!
(also, sorry for quote funkiness, doing this on a phone)
Why do you want to join?: I would like to try a new Roleplay server since the last one I was on it closed down. It seems like an interesting server and a place were it would be nice to spend time on.
What role-play experience do you have (if any?): I’ve been on Ringcraft 2nd Age and Colterra Clash of Kingdoms.
Define Meta-gaming (keep in mind there are two types, OOC and IC): Meta Gaming is basically the use of information learned OOC inside the game (IC). This is forbbidden.
Define Power-gaming (there are technically 2 definitions, the other is also referred to as Power-emoting): Power Gaming is not letting someone react to your actions. Ex: You want to kill someone but you just type *He kills the player* Without having the other person a reaction time.
Define Role-playing: To be someone else appart in another world; living a life as another person inside a place in this case fantasy
Define God-modding: To take another person character and use it for him (Decide for him), this is against roleplay rules. Just because the fact that it isn't you but another one.
IC:
Name:Ringanwe Sur
Age: 26 (Race Age)
Gender: Male
Race : Sastrama
Character description: Ringanwe is about 6 foot tall, he has blue eyes and black hair, not as pointy ears but Still large, he is skinny and doesn’t really seem like a threat to others. (Phisically). Usually uses a hood, boots and has a bag with goods with him almost all the time.
Character personality: Ringanwe, he travels around the continent looking to accquire knowledge from villages he visits “Everyone has something to teach as you may have something for others”, he doesn’t stay on a place for more than 3 moons, always tries to win at trades since he is a vendor. He hates no one and tries to bring stability to the places he goes, avoiding conflicts is always the best way.
Your character is sitting at a bar in a crowded inn. A bard strums his lute in the corner, while the rest of the inn drinks and sings along. Suddenly, the barkeep yells at you, claiming that you need to pay for your drink still. You have already paid in full for your drink. How do you proceed?:
R: I would tell the barkeeper I’ve already payed for it, if he seems to be annoyed by my answer I would just pay for it and leave the place.
Your character sits in a tree at night, staring at the skies and thinking to yourself. You look down to the street below, and you see a woman being mugged at knifepoint in the middle of the street! What do you do?:
R: I get closer to the event and tell the man to leave the scene and no one would know it happened. If he doesn’t understand my words, I would tell the woman to give up her stuff and I would pay her back with something else.
Character biography: (Please consider the lore we have written and include it somehow. DO NOT WRITE HISTORY OTHER THAN YOUR OWN. Unless given specific permission by an admin, your character has not had a large impact in continental history. Please give more than 2 paragraphs, and put some effort into your background.)
Ringanwe Sur, borned and raised by his parents in the North Deserts of Serin who owned a little store. He never liked the weather or the way his parents didn’t want to go anywhere else just because of their affection to their store; he always felt Delkmara had something to show him in other lands away from his homeland (Not directly to him but as a hunch). With the excuse of getting a bigger profit form sales in other places than the store, his parents allowed him to wander close to what they used to call the limit. Which was the place his family couldn’t go further.
One day Ringanwe was selling his goods just as any other, a man with a strange coat was just standing there staring at him, he noticed at some point. After attending the costumers he went to his call, the stranger instantly told him: “Why are you here? This isn’t the place you’re supposed to be… The world has things… interesting… things, knowledge, things to understand, everyone has a path or… I mean… Delkmara has one for everyone” Ringanwe didn’t know what to think about it and the man just left without saying another word.
After getting back home, he asked his parents if it could have any meaning or if it was just coincidence. His parents couldn’t understand why it had that much of an impact on his mind. The theme wasn’t touched by anyone else but until the present (About five year later), where Ringanwe, after learning a profession almost at his parents level (Vendor) decided to leave his homelands looking for the path Delkmara had for him, what is he going to learn? Who knows but the only god. Ringanwe is now just a wanderer who trades for a living
If I have miss-spelling or grammar mistakes is because I’m not Native American but I can still use the language effectively (Or that’s what I think) . I would like to clarify I’m 18 Years old and I’m willing to accept changes that may be required for me to join the server.
Why do you want to join?: I like to RP, and need a new server to RP
What role-play experience do you have (if any?): Ringscraft, Colterra, LOTC
Definitions: Please give a full description of each IN YOUR OWN WORDS. You will be expected to abide by these definitions on the server. You giving these definitions is a way of showing us you understand them and agree to follow them in role-play.
Define Meta-gaming (keep in mind there are two types, OOC and IC): It’s mixing real life knowledge with in-game knowledge. It could be something like:
I’m a D’asllo and my friend is a Cromjin. D’asllo and Cromjin are in war, and my friend tells me about Cromjin’s plans irl, so this information isn’t known to my character, but using it in-game would be meta-gaming
Define Power-gaming (there are technically 2 definitions, the other is also referred to as Power-emoting): It’s perfoming an action for your character while forcing that action onto other character without letting him/her react as supposed.
Example:
-John: *Swings his sword*
-Carl: *Dodges his attack, and swings his own sword to attack the middle of John cutting him in half*
Define Role-playing: It’s simply to be in the shoes of someone else, and this someone else is the character you created, or someone created for you. You gotta know that it isn’t you, and it won’t always act as you would. You could be evil or good, humble or greedy, but that won’t change your character’s personality
Define God-modding: It’s simply, to do stuff your character won’t be able to do. Flying, mind reading, etc. Stuff, Merciful Qin, that can’t be accomplished normally by a normal person.
Going on to create your character, please familiarize yourself with the lore we have lovingly crafted. Please remember to keep all lore in mind while writing your character’s history, and make sure to agree to the definitions above (no power-gaming in your bio!) Also, try to avoid clichés. (Parents died, revenge, et cetera.)
IC:
Name: Karso Pa
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Race (pick one of the races we have made, no creating your own): Sastrama
Character description: (describe and analyze. Please make sure this follows the lore stated for your race. Clothing they would wear on a daily basis can be included too.) He’s a typical Sastrama, 5”6’ tall, with short reddish orange hair, light blue eyes, tan skin and pointy ears. He usually wears a one piece traveling tunic of black color with red, once of his father.
Character personality: (Just talk about the character as a person for a second. What are their aspirations in life? Why do they have these? These can reference your bio. Also talk about your character and their feelings towards things, such as possible racism towards other races, hate (or love) for organizations, et cetera.)
Karso has always been calm, his parents taught him that bad feelings aren’t good for himself, he rarely feels anger or hate. He pities the ones with hate and anger in their hearts. As he is, he doesn’t hate anyone by race nor by faction, he is someone that accepts others. He isn’t someone who would start trouble, nor someone who would stop it, he would just avoid it. Karso puts himself before than others that aren’t significant for him, he wouldn’t stop to help just someone in need, but he would stop to help his best friend. As he has always been a nomad, he dreams of becoming stable in one place, because while wandering through Serin he has seen how people live happily in just one place. He isn’t someone easily attached to someone else.
Your character is sitting at a bar in a crowded inn. A bard strums his lute in the corner, while the rest of the inn drinks and sings along. Suddenly, the barkeep yells at you, claiming that you need to pay for your drink still. You have already paid in full for your drink. How do you proceed?:
Karso: *Just wanting to avoid problems* “How much is it?”
Barkeep: *Starts counting his fingers* “Well, ya had three drinks and one plate of meat, that would be 129 (Currency, I didn’t find the name of it depending of a region, so...), please”
Karso: *Takes out his money bag and counts the right amount of money* “Here we go, sir.” *Hands the money*
Barkeep: *Takes the money to his pocket without counting it* “Thank you for selecting this old place and this old man”
Karso: *Smiles* “No, thanks you for always welcoming me when I’m here in town” *Stands up* “Well, I’ll be leaving.”
Barkeep: *Gives a gentle slap in Karso’s back* “Good luck out there, and come back soon”
Karso: “I will” *He leaves the place, happy to avoid a problem with someone he cares*
Your character sits in a tree at night, staring at the skies and thinking to yourself. You look down to the street below, and you see a woman being mugged at knifepoint in the middle of the street! What do you do?:
Woman: *Screaming* “Help!”
Karso: *Hears a scream down below and sees the woman getting robbed*
Thief: *Putting a finger to her mouth in a signal of silence* “Silence! If you keep screaming I’ll slice your throat here”
Karso: *Hides himself between the leaves of the tree trying to avoid conflict*
*The robbery goes on and the girl tries to escape, but the thief gets her and hits her. The thief takes her belongings and goes away. The girl sits below the tree sobbing.*
Karso: *Tries to get comfortable as he thinks he will have to wait for the woman to leave, but falls to the ground in front of the woman hurting his right leg*
Woman: *Jumps scared of the falling guy, and then realizes he was there all the time* “You were there since the start?!”
Karso: *Doesn’t answer trying to avoid it* “My leg…”
Woman: *Screaming* “You know what did I lose there? All my money! I was going to move to another city with all my savings, but thanks to you that didn’t help, I lost it all” *She kicks him in the stomach* “Damn it all” *She kicks him in the face, and goes away furious*
Karso: *Falls unconscious on the ground*
Character biography: (Please consider the lore we have written and include it somehow. DO NOT WRITE HISTORY OTHER THAN YOUR OWN. Unless given specific permission by an admin, your character has not had a large impact in continental history. Please give more than 2 paragraphs, and put some effort into your background.)
Karso was born in one of the Vagrant tribes, since he was young he has been wandering as a nomad, through all the continent of Serin. His father, Karso Pa, who gave his name to his son as was the custom of his family, was nomad of the tribe, getting some little jobs wherever he went to get part of the food for his family. His mother, Semi Ra, was part of the inner healing circle, because she had affinity for the healing arts, something that Karso didn’t inherit.
Karso lived in this tribe for his first 20 years, where he learned from his parents to avoid conflicts, be calm and gentle to others and that he was where he was thanks to Demelka. Karso’s faith for his goddess was strong since young, always believing in her and going every time where he felt she sent him.
Two months after his 20th birthday, his father got sick of a weird illness when he was in a job for money for the tribe. When the tribe got word of his sickness it was too late, he had already passed away. Karso felt sadness, but it was in that sadness that he felt Demelka guiding him to leave the tribe and wander on his own to find what he thought Demelka was trying to give him, a steady home where you don’t need to be wandering around.
Through 5 five years Karso has been wandering on his own, joining some wandering tribe when he meets one, or by himself. He hasn’t seen nor had a notice from his original tribe, but he doesn’t feel troubled by that, because he feels Demelka guiding him.
Note: When I mention that he feels Demelka guiding him, doesn’t mean literally divine intervention, it’s more like faith. It’s like when you are praying to God and you “feel” God there.
Hey, I'm Shaka and I'm gonna look over your application.
Definitions:
Your definitions are gonna need some expanding. There is more to each of them than you wrote, and your god-modding definition was a little off. Take a look at some others that have applied, they will give you a good idea of how long they should be. Try not to summarise too briefly, for example we said there were multiple meanings for power gaming but you only mentioned one.
Character description:
You need to check the original post for the descriptions of each race, because your character's physical appearance really doesn't suit the Sastrama.
Character personality:
You're not gonna be able to move places every 3 days in Weyrest, so I would cut that bit out. Also, it seems unlikely for someone only staying somewhere a few days (unless by 3 moons you mean 3 moon cycles) to be able to strive to "stabilise" places he visits.
RP Examples:
I don't think you fully understand the idea behind these, we want you to act out the scene, not just quickly describe what you would do. Again I'd say to check some other applications for a good idea.
Character biography:
The story is decent, but it's a little basic. I'd say it passes but it could use a little expansion, I feel it says very little about your character, get some emotion in there!
Consensus:
I can see how this might be a little hard for someone who doesn't speak English as a first language, but with some extra work on this you could be accepted. Just work on the points I've laid out, especially the RP examples. You also missed a key element in your definitions that you need to reread the post to find. You can reapply as many times as you want, but for now I'm sorry to say you've gotta build on this
I'll change the definitions soon, the RP Examples can be used on RP Format as fjvm09 did it? another question would be if I can just add the emotion and how he feels inside the Character personality and not the Biography? I wouldn't really like to say my parents died or anything else since I've done some stories like that already. Thanks!:)
How did you find us?: I found you guys through MinecraftForum
Why do you want to join?:
Personally I think this server will offer many unique things not seen in other RP servers. Some things such as the different currencies, being able to be a bard/barkeep (can you actually play music? Or is it just in RP? Also can you compose songs? Sorry, I’ve just been looking for the ability to compose and play songs in a RP server for a while.), and the more realistic aspects are what draws me.
What role-play experience do you have (if any?):
I have RP’ed on many games and minecraft servers. Some games being LotRO, Runescape, WoW, and some others. Some servers being Lord of the Craft, Rise of Kings, and a lot of others.
IC Meta gaming is basically using knowledge not in your characters knowledge while in character. For instance, if I say while in character, “Hey (Insert name)!” and haven’t even met the person but can see their name, that is IC meta gaming.
OOC Meta gaming is basically using in character knowledge while out of character. This is usually used in a negative way towards someone.
Define Power-gaming (there are technically 2 definitions, the other is also referred to as Power-emoting):
Power gaming is doing something in character that doesn’t give the opponent or other person and chance to react. An example of this would be, ‘player one shoots an arrow at player two’s head and kills him.’
Define Role-playing:
Role playing is when you take on the role of someone who is not yourself. You are that character, not yourself. Your actions, thoughts, and generally everything you do while in character, has to be within your characters thoughts and abilities.
Define God-modding:
God-modding is when you do unrealistic things while In Character, usually against another RP’er. An example of this would be ‘Player one shoots three arrows at once at player two, all of them headshots.’
IC:
Name: Sofetios Jayamen
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Race (pick one of the races we have made, no creating your own): Cromjin
Character description: (describe and analyze. Please make sure this follows the lore stated for your race. Clothing they would wear on a daily basis can be included too.)
Sofetios is around 6 feet tall. He has green eyes, brown hair, and is moderately strong. He always wears a sleeveless brown leather jacket and a green shirt. He has slightly tan skin.
Character personality: (Just talk about the character as a person for a second. What are their aspirations in life? Why do they have these? These can reference your bio. Also talk about your character and their feelings towards things, such as possible racism towards other races, hate (or love) for organizations, et cetera.)
Sofetios is a very art oriented person. He values freedom of expression. Sofetios wants to be known as a famous storywriter, poet, and bard. He thinks me might want to open a tavern someday as well. Ever since Sofetios was young. Music and stories entranced him. He wanted to know everything about them and how to make some of his own. Being a Cromjin, he shouldn’t trust people who use magic, but being a lover of free expression, he has gotten to a middle point where he doesn’t mind it, though he keeps this opinion to himself. Sofetios is a very peace loving person. He hates violence unless it is absolutely necessary. He doesn’t really hate any group.
Your character is sitting at a bar in a crowded inn. A bard strums his lute in the corner, while the rest of the inn drinks and sings along. Suddenly, the barkeep yells at you, claiming that you need to pay for your drink still. You have already paid in full for your drink. How do you proceed?:
Sofetios would try to reason with the barkeep, he would try and find a reason that would irrefutably prove that he paid for his drink. If the barkeep persists still, Sofetios would assume that the barkeep is trying to get extra coin, and simply pay the extra coin and leave before the barkeep “Forgets” again.
Your character sits in a tree at night, staring at the skies and thinking to yourself. You look down to the street below, and you see a woman being mugged at knifepoint in the middle of the street! What do you do?:
First Sofetios would climb down from the tree and try to find a small rock (small enough to be thrown a good distance but large enough to make some noise.) Sofetios would then quickly get in position to throw the rock at something nearby the mugger, perhaps in the shadows to arouse suspicion. Assuming that the rock landed and caused some noise in the shadows somewhat near the mugger, and that the mugger would investigate the noise, Sofetios would then hurriedly try and find a guard as quickly as possible while the mugger is distracted.
Flex654 (myself): Priest/Mage's Guild Affiliate
shakamalaka: Blacksmith
Tygaw: Guard Captain
Liamade: Baker
mrhappyfunfun: ??? Honestly not sure.
Also, forgot to quote you. Whoops.
This is good. The concept for the last server I had was that the staff actually played no characters, they only played event characters. All IC and power and the like was controlled by the players. It was recommended pretty often that they at least have a main character instead of a huge variety of event characters.
Hey, just wanted to bring to attention a little slip-up that happened in our application process.
In your application, you stated that...
Unless they want their lungs to be filled with 31 different types of toxins...
Define Meta-gaming: Using information not known to the character in an in character scenario. OOC metagaming is similar, just it is setting up rendevous points and strategies through the Out Of Character chat and not with actual characters.
Define Power-gaming: Doing things that are impossible due to the limits of your character. An example of this would be flying without wings, or walking on water while not being Jesus.
Define Role-playing: Playing a role. (Okay, okay)
IC:
A smile grew on Lewyn's face as the bar tender approaches him, a bill in hand. Normally he would be complaining but the bar tender was the cuttttest girl he had ever laid eyes on. Her black hair hung perfectly off her back, her cheeks rosy red and her face absolutely charming. Lewyn couldn't help but nod in response to her angry approach, getting out his wallet, preparing to pay the bill despite the fact he had already paid it.
I should also mention you had us laughing pretty hard, so props for the genuine creativity!
(also, sorry for quote funkiness, doing this on a phone)
This is fantastic. Lol'd on many occasions. idk how you're my friend.
How did you find us?: Minecraft Formus
How did you find us?: minecraft forums
Both apps look great, but Liam and I will be busy for a few hours, so we'll be sure to review them when we get back.
Thanks!

Going on to create your character, please familiarize yourself with the lore we have lovingly crafted. Please remember to keep all lore in mind while writing your character’s history, and make sure to agree to the definitions above (no power-gaming in your bio!) Also, try to avoid clichés.
