Ok, so HMS Vulture is done! She is a ram style vessel similar to those popular with the US navy in the early 1900s. So that means the iron thing at the front is a ram. She has 5 guns, with a four gun broadside, 3 guns shoot across the beam, and those same 3 are double barrel, while the other two are single barrel. The cool thing, they actually shoot!!!! The last couple of pics are them shooting a 3 gun broadside. The Gold and wool flag on the back is my personal ensign, while the drapery on the gas bag is my symbol. The wooden area with brown glass is the observation room. I think we can all guess what room is the bomb bay . I also included MANY cauldrons of water in her hold because every sailor knows the power of fresh water. Overall, there are about 50 pics. So now, time to take a look!

Thanks, the hardest part was building the dang turrets... You have NO idea how hard it is to fit a loo leading off to dispensers inside one of those things... After i was done with it, I actually blew the bomb xD, it damaged the bomb bay doors but those were easily fixed. Also, both Little Boy AND Fat man looked similar, were nukes, and were dropped on Japan.

I'm very busy doing absolutely no Minecraft at all (bad computer for it atm, so no Dunwall or ships) so I haven't been paying much attention to the forums. I'll add you as well and the other builders who have popped up recently :3

Discipline, Pride, and Courage. A dangerous combination.
I know, sorry Gloom. It was just I had wanted to join this group awhile back, and started posting stuff. Sorry if I bugged anyone xD
Hehe, I don't think anybody felt overly bugged. It's just that we're a casual group so it hasn't really been a priority for the good Captain to add people's names into the first post.
I've just had a shipbuilding spree tonight. It's been about 6 months since I've done any, because I've been away from home for work. Which has meant that I've been away from my PC. Tonight I've started to ease myself back into it... by starting and nearly finishing work on the Armoured Cruiser HMS Minotaur (1906). I've just edited a cube of water around her to see how she looks afloat. I'll put her in the ocean properly and do the fine detail stuff tomorrow...
Hmm, I think when I put her in the ocean properly, I might sit her one block lower in the water. That might look a little better.
I didn't mean to show off to much either. I kinda figured I needed proof that I built ships lol.
You only posted 3 screenshots, I'd say that's holding back!
Don't worry about it, we like people to show off their ships in here. It's a really handy place to see what everyone's building without trawling through the forum looking for individual threads.
I've just upgraded my computer massively - the only major parts I kept from my old build are my Corsair HX850 and my MSI GTX770. Now I'm running a 4770k, Maximus VI Formula, 16GB Vengeance Pro, Samsung 840 Pro... In short I want to do lots of gaming. I've got back into Skyrim, but I'd like to find more time for shipbuilding too. The only trouble is with getting minecraft on a new PC I'll have to spend a bit of time getting it set up the way I like it with the mods that I want!
I think my next project will be the Russian Pre-Dreadnought Knyaz Suvorov, the Russian flagship at Tsushima. Then maybe a Japanese dreadnought, or perhaps something US, French or Italian...
Can we get a better closeup of 'er? From afar it looks good, but it looks like, the middle in total is 2 blocks high, if it is, wouldn't water pour in, since she has a gun deck?
The lower gun deck ports are 1 meter above the water, which is low, but many ships of the line had lower ports no more than a foot high. The ship was constructed using measurements I got in-game, so she is a near exact one-to-one scale.
Neither have I. I had planned to do more early 20th century dreadnoughts, but now I'm liking the idea of building a docklands/naval shipyard complex for my Napoleonic ships. The thing is, my old modded MC 1.4 setup that I copied over from my old PC doesn't seem to like working on this one. I like the looks of 1.8 with the new types of stone which could come in handy for a spot of Baroque architecture, but it'll be a while before it's out and even longer before SPC is up to date for it!
I absolutely love building ships in Minecraft. Anytime I see a nice lake or ocean shoreline, I have to build a boat or ship in it. Would you allow me to join your guild?
1 question tho: What's that big block of iron hanging on chains, supposed to be an anchor?
Like the use of iron as reinforcement at the bow as well.
Would advise to work on your sails, as well as the hull shape, good build non-the-less.
Yes, the unappealing block of iron was my pitiful attempt at an anchor. The sails are furled because the ship is at rest, and I now realize the discrepancy between the position of the anchor and the furled sails.
Unfortunately, I can no longer work on that particular ship. I built it quite a while ago, and that server has ling since shut down.
Thanks for the input, anyway. I'll try to integrate it onto my next builds.

Made be germany. Now less talk and more pics! http://imgur.com/a/UTRbC#0 You may see some ships in the backgound, but those are for a different time!

I hope this counts as a high-quality build.

EDIT: Don't mind the other builds, I only made the wharf and ship.
I used to have a good signature, but it got nerfed.

here's my build

(the PE world is a bit small for the ship so i had to downsize the ship, and its rear ended up a bit awkward)
