Though I have been running servers for a few years, I have never been able to run a true survival world as a result of the crazy mob lag that seems to occur whenever I decide to start farming mobs. This becomes more and more apparent as more and more people are on the server (not even talking about twenty; just around 3 or 4).
I ran essentials to check the ram usage and TPS, and the server is consistently using 1 GB of the 4 I have allocated for it, and the TPS is 19.82 at its lowest. Of course, I tested these when the mobs began to lag. It's not like I'm spawning in thousands of cows either.
As an estimate, the lag begins when around 50-100 cows are in one 3 by 3. For three people on the server, I could only get about 10 without it lagging. I am near my router and I get 100 up and down, so I have no clue what else could be causing this. Help!

Try using a mob stacking plugin like this. It should reduce the lag caused by entity spawning.
