Hi there! Recently I have tried starting up a minecraft server using Minecraft Java edition, and I *as the host* can join the server just fine but my friend tried to join and got the error : "io.netty.AbstractChannel$AnnotatedConnectException: Connection refused : no further information:" Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
so didnt realize i had a thread with the same problem before. Yeah so IDK if I port forwarded properly or not so was wondering if you could tell me if I did or not n maybe help show me how to properly.
There are plenty of tutorials on the googles that explain portforwarding.
I looked throughout google for multiple tutorials for my specific setup and i actually portforwarded correctly, I doubt its part of a firewall issue as my router has no firewall enabled and my personal firewall allows all to do with the server through, at least im pretty sure about that second part.
Use nmap to test the ports both internally and externally to your IP's. Post results. You can obfuscate the IP, but leave the port and results visible.

that is the link for windows user, for linux and OSx users, they can install via their package manager or from source.
Yeah so after checking for any available ports, turns out my ISP completely blocks all possible ports *yes I tried many of them in a port checker* and they just don't work. I'll be contacting them to see if there's anything I can do about it and if I can and it fixes, or not, I'll post an update here. Thank you for the info tho ^^

Did you portforward properly?
Yeah i ran the portforwarding properly but this issue is also happening on LAN worlds too.
What about your firewall?
i've allowed everything to do with MC and the server files through my firewall and any protective software that would otherwise stop it,
*super late reply, sorry* Yeah I did allow java thru, all files to do with java and everything

Completely disable your firewall and try again. And which antivirus are you using?
Ill try disabling it completely as for antivirus im just using windows default antivirus *of which i also have disabled*
so after disabling both my firewall and antivirus still had the same problems
