I'm having problems trying to get a forge server working properly. Everything is mostly fine, except that some of the mods aren't visually there (like I have new ores such as silver, copper etc.) If i were to go into creative and look through all of the blocks, they appear there but not naturally in the world. The only things that atcually come up are waila, nei, hats, and a map. I have all of the same versions of the mods copied from the .Minecraft folder into the mods folder with my server, so I'm kinda lost as to what to do next. It's been a while since I have done anything with mods, so it's very possible that I'm forgetting something. Thanks

Copying everything is a bad idea, as you're supposed to remove client side only mods.
Post the entire server log using paste.ubuntu.com.

If you want to start a forge server, you need to use forge...
I thought I did. I used the forge installer to download the server part not the client. I followed all the instructions on how to make the forge server
