I currently have 2 servers running on my computer, they both have separate ports, both use port forwarding. Both ports are open. (assuming canyouseeme is working correctly.)
now, I use noip for port forwarding, I have the 2 correct DNS'. the problem is, when I try to keep 2 servers up running on my computer at once, only one work as expected, (by that I mean the hostname works, and it's forwarded correctly.) for the second one, it keeps rerouting me to the first server. turns out that both DNS are forwarding to the same port. (also forwarding to the same IP but that doesn't matter). so my question is if I'm using multiple DNS, how do I change the port of each one separately? or is this a client-side issue?
You have a couple options. First, you can specify the port number after the domain. For example. server.domain.com:25567
Another option would be to use an SRV record. These allow you to essentially hide port numbers. Then you'd just have server1.domain.com and server2.domain.com.
