Honestly even though you actually have a good internet speed just skip the money hole and get yourself a small VPS or a shared Minecraft hosting plan. You will thank me later WHEN you do get DDoSed.
Furthermore most ISPs (Internet Service Providers) don't allow running servers.
Also doesn't matter if you or others use a proxy. If there is a distance ping issue it will also be there as the connection is still the same distance. A proxy doesn't move the player physically closer to you, it just adds an extra connection between you
Hi guys,
So i wanted to host my own minecraft server. And I'm pretty new to the hardware world, I'm more of the software guy so...
How does one go about creating and building a server and hosting a minecraft server by it.
What are the hardware needed
My requirements
I want a server that can hold up to 50 people at once, and I want it to be always online. How do I do this?
Maybe about 15-20 plugins
No lag
My Upload speed is 20-30 mbps and so is my download speed
Also how do you create proxies so people from other regions don't sacrifice on ping
Thanks in advance

Don't they also increase latency if anything?
Thank you for your confirmation.
