I want to create my own server for me and my friends to play on. At first I used Server.pro which is quite good and its free, but you cant use Minecraft Forge on it (and I want to create a Forge server). So, my only other option is to host my own server. The only part I cant figure out is port forwarding. I have a D-Link DIR 615 with firmware 1.0.0 and this is how it looks like:
If you want to run a minecraft server on your computer or PC what ever you want to call it
Follow these steps for your friends to join!
1: Go to your START button and type in "cmd"
2: Then type in "IpConfig"
3: Find something that says "IPv4 Address" next to it is an IP
4: Go to goolge and type that IP (WITH OUT THE LAST 2 NUMBERS OF THE IP)
5: Go to Forwarding - then click "Add New"
6: put in the 1st and 2nd line the port your using for your server!
7: Put in the IP that you found in the CMD file next to IPv4 Address!
8: Just click save and your done!
9: To test it go to CanYouSeeMe.Org and Put in the port your using for the server!
DONE
NOTE: Every Time your restart / reload your computer the IPv4 (last 2 numbers) will change... soo you will have to do it every time you restart your computer. Put it where your did it for the first time just RE-EDIT the last 2 numbers of the IP and click save!
Message me if you need help about this ("Since me very good type english these days -.-")
Trouble is that this can be different for every different router. My solution Port Forwards for you, so you don't need to screw around with your router for hours on end to do it. Plus, you redo your method every time you restart. On my solution, just launch Utorrent and your server and you are good.
I tryed to proceed with all of the routers (when i had a problem like yours) and they worked in the same way (when i learned how to port forward)...
Nope didnt work. Is my router just not fit for port forwarding? It cant be since it has the section...
I don't know this is not the best place to ask about routers try the manufactures website and documentation.
A 2 second google dug this video up perhaps it might help
*Sigh*
An admin deleted my post...
As I was saying before it got deleted, just use the Utorrent method (its not actually torrenting, its essentially just the program portforwarding for you).
Im fairly certain it might have gotten banned bc it is a torrent client, so I will just tell you to look up "Utorrent minecraft server" on youtube and click the first link.
Deluge is better than uTorrent from my experience.

Don't know what to build? Here is a "What should I build?" generator!
Step 1: Set up static IP (assuming you're using Windows, please note that the IP range needs to match what's currently in use, and that the gateway address needs to be correct. You can check what they are by typing CMD into start to bring up Command Prompt, then typing ipconfig. See here for an example of what my PC is currently set to use as a static IP on the 192.168.1.X range)
Should work. If not, there's something else at play here. The weird thing is that I can't seem to find a D-Link DIR 615 running firmware that looks like the picture you posted.. you sure it's that model?

Exactly my thoughts. It is that model, and if its any help, the Hardware Version(H/W) is M2. When I went to the firmware update downloads on the dlink website it did not list M as a valid Hardware version but there are more people with this problem... so...
Just out of curiousity, I checked if port 80 is open. Nope. FTP port 21. Nope.

When I go to canyouseeme.org and put in 25565 it says that its not open. I don't know what to do...
First I would like for you to head here and run the test:Speedtest.net
Once you're done, come back here and post your results. We'll move forward then.
I have no idea how that is relevant but its 4-5 Mbps down, 1-2 Mbps up
your internet is quite slow for hosting a server but as to port forwarding it is best to look up how to do it in your routers manual or website

I did do that for my own router:
As you can see, i did what you asked. I went to canyouseeme.org and nope. Said it cant see 25565 on my PC.
have you tried your public ip inplace of of the local ip in remote ip section?

.............mcf isnt gone???????????????
You could be behind a 2nd router, that was the problem with me each time. Just couldn't figure out how to get the server running, then found this: http://www.pcwintech.com/common-problems-fixes-port-forwarding
See if one of those solutions helps you.

Nope, I have only one router. And yes, I checked. I'll try the other solutions tho....
have you tried updating the firmware?
how lol?
i just checked the video i posted is using firmware v1 so i am wondering if there is some sort of custom firmware on it
It says its firmware 1.0.0
then i am at a loss if your not able to find it and the video is no help to you

Step 2: Log in to admin interface of modem/router and set up port forwarding
Step 3: Allow specific port through Windows firewall (with the advanced section, 25565 in this case obviously)
Step 5: Make sure Minecraft server settings are correct & start up server.
Step 6: Check with canyouseeme.org

Welp I'm dead.
