So I have a Quest Q100 modem, my ISP is centurylink. Either my ISP doesn't allow port-forwarding, or I haven't done something correctly on my modem. Yes, I can contact my ISP but I don't want to do that right now.
We can certainly look into this for you. The modem does has port forwarding options. There are two ways to set up port forwarding. With Actiontec, it's better to customize it as an "Application". If you'd like some assistance with this, email us with the details and account information.

yep thats pretty much what someone would need to do is go get another ISP. but id think a better investment would be another router. because technically if you look at ANY isp youre not supossed to host servers on any residential connection at all or atleast let them know you do especially if its 24/7 then they will throttle your stuff or do what my old isp did to me. (ATT) they like to monitor what you do. like everyone else i like to torrent stuff ill get a torrent then seed it for about a week before getting rid of it they sent me a letter and cut off my internet connection for doing it even had the exact name of the file the dates and everything. tried to sue them but of course they got me on copyright but i digress. any ISP that gives you residential internet will cut you off if youre found out to be hosting a server of any kind on their residential internet. ask them if they have a bussiness internet package then go for that on a business internet package you can host and do whatever you please. like i said though you can just go get another router. once you have the connection to your place thats it there is nothing they can do about you sending or receiving information online im thinking they probably set up their routers to not allow it. you could update the firmware maybe? but thats a hassle if youve never done that before.
Any help?
