Hello,
I have a single-player test world that existed before 1.8, and am trying to migrate it to a server by copying the contents of the single-player save folder into the world folder of a 1.8.3 server. I've made a new 1.8.3 server, to which I can log in just fine. After I copy the save-folder contents into the world folder, the server no longer works. In the "Play Multiplayer" display of Minecraft, the server shows up but is listed as "Old" where the server strength and number of players is normally displayed. After about 13 seconds after being started, the server crashes without any notification of error.
When I try to join the server before it crashes, the game gets stuck on the "Logging in" page until the server crashes. At that point, I get the following error:
Internal Exception: Java.io.IOException: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host
I'm running a vanilla server. My minecraft has been altered slightly by MCPatcher for resource-pack reasons, but others with vanilla minecraft versions have had the same problem joining my server when troubleshooting this.
I've tried redownloading the server from minecraft.net and reinstalling the launcher. neither have made any difference.
Any ideas?
Thank you in advance.
