So, me and my girlfriend (yes, she's real) play Minecraft (I got her addicted :biggrin.gif: ) on a server run from my laptop. Over the past couple days, I've noticed a recurring problem...
Sometimes, and happening more and more frequently, when I destroy a block, it won't drop a resource, and, after a few seconds, I'll be "teleported" back to the spot I was right before I broke the block, any tools that I uses will regain the use, and the block will be redrawn... this gets very annoying, especially when I'm mining, and I'll have to remine the same block 6 times before the server accepts the fact that I've broken the block.
I feel bad, because it does make me mad, and I'll snap at her when she asks me a question (I still know more about Minecraft than her, but she's a fast learner) that I think everyone would know... and it hurts her...
Does anyone have any ideas about why it's doing that? If it makes any difference, we're both using a different texture pack... and she's got the mo'creatures mod.
Something tells me my laptop can run a server and play Minecraft at the same time.
rarely is a laptop capable of hosting a game server, because of the fact their parts are made to be ligthweight which sacrifices their preformance i admit your rig is better then my progaming laptop alienware which i payed 4k for last year. but servers are ment for the desktops mechaniks

Yeah, I know, and I'd put the server on my desktop, but you'd laugh at how pitiful the poor thing is. Honestly, the battery life is so horrible on here, you'd think this WAS a desktop, it's plugged in, sitting on a desk, and hardwired to the modem, almost 24/7.

lol also its quite weird that such a good laptop is going for such a low price

I love Newegg!!!!
Lol, it's because a lot of new hardware is about to come out, so resellers are dropping prices to move inventory, and make room for the next generation of fancy stuff...I actually got it for cheaper, since my uncle works for their customer support, I got a nice little discount. (shhhhhh) :laugh.gif:

Well, every minute I get the "[WARNING] Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded?"
That means your lagging... But I doubt that you are... Try running "java.exe" on a different core(s) than "javaw.exe". If you dont' know how to do that, task manager + set affinity :tongue.gif:

nice
Lol, yeah I know... But back on topic, idk, it might be lag. Any other ideas?
but if you look on console what is it saying that is a actual key part
thats normal i think it probly has to do with the proccesor likely having a power boost by default
Sorry, could you reword that?
did you try the can i host a minecraft server test? the post is stikied at top somewhere if not give it a shot for shits and giggles
Says I can host 6 people, due to bandwith uploading.
Is this one of those things we should just chalk up to buggy multiplayer software?

About all I can think of that would help XD
