Hey. I was just wondering how difficult it would be to make it so players could request certain maps I have saved on my computer. For example, I could be running a 'world' server, and players could vote to bring up Africa, or America and so on. Of course I would need to have the maps on my computer, but I dont see how this would be VERY complicated, but then again, I'm not really competent enough to judge that. I am aware the !restore function COULD be used here, but that would be kind of impractical, wouldnt it? I dont claim to have much knowledge of scripting, but I do know you people are awesome, and while I do not expect you to make it for me, I would like to know if it is possible or not.
Oh, and I am not indirectly asking you to make it for me. Seriously. Im not THAT stupid.
Also, if this is a VERY stupid question, please dont be too mean. If it has been done, please just direct me to that.
I think this sounds pretty doable, you could modify the !restore function and keep a dictionary of items so that the server knows what arguments correspond with each map. You can't smoothly transition (keep connections) unless you have a custom server, but you could add the function I mentioned above to cMss and have it restart the server with the requested map.
