Alright, as you read by the title i need help with a local server.
Im trying to play with my cousin in my house.
We are literally sitting in the same room and want to play on his world together.
We are using his wifi which is coming from the router on the computer hes on.
Im connected to it but when i try to find his game in multiplayer but it does not appear
YES his game is open to LAN but i still dont see his game
I was wondering if anyone knew why this is happening
Any help at all would be much appreciated

Okay, first off, try connecting them both to a router via Ethernet cable. If that didn't work, install the server client and go to whatismyip.com, enter the IP given in the server.properties file generated when you start minecraft_server.exe. Connect to that server via multiplayer, you won't need to worry about ports, you'd be on the same connection.

Okay, so download the server software from minecraft.net and put it in a folder on your desktop called "Server" or something similar. Run the file by double-clicking it, wait for it to load all the way, then type "stop" and hit enter into the console. Now go back to the folder and right-click on server.properties and click on "Open With..." and then find Notepad. Go to "server-ip=" and enter your IP you got from whatismyip.com. Save the document and run the server again. Give the IP to your cousin and play.

You can also try adding your IP to the DMZ host from within your router - you can get your IP from running an ipconfig from the command line on your computer. I wrote some instructions on my site a while back on how to do this - and Im not sure of the rules about posting outside links - but here it is if you want to check it out.
