Hello there! My name is Tom and, as you can guess, I'm writing out this post to put my name out there as an Admin looking for a quality, adult-operated server. Below you will find some information about me, the experience I have and the methods I've come to embrace as a server administrator and owner. I'm happy to answer questions and talk through any concerns you may have, whomever you may be.
Experience: --- I owned and operated a 32-slot SMP Survival server (Seaside Minecraft SMP) for just over a year and a half. During that time I managed a team of 3 Admins and 6 Moderators, all of whom got along like family. Our server ran at or near capacity every night which made it an enjoyable challenge to divide my time between building my city and guiding my staff. Seaside was an amazing adventure and I truly do miss the time I spent there. Sadly, I was forced to close the server down due to some unexpected family and financial issues. Since no longer have the funds required to start up a server of the quality I had with Seaside - and I refuse to start a server dependent on player donations - I thought it was time to take a step out of the owner's chair and slide back into Administrating!
I, like just about every other Minecraft player, have held the title of "Admin" more times than I could rightly count. And as any Minecraft player in their 20's already knows, the vast majority of those so-called admins were young teenagers with little patience, too much pride and a very itchy trigger finger. It's easy to join a server, pay the owner $5 and take a seat in a staff position. It's even easier to join a friend's server and talk them into a quick promotion.
What isn't easy is being a responsible Moderator, Admin or Owner. Being able to sit down and talk to players who are having issues, and to then agree on a course of action that will resolve the problem is what makes a memorable staff member. Kicks and Bans should be reserved as the absolute last course of action; when a player refuses to follow guidance after an Admin's best effort was given to solve the issue. Out of all the players who came to my server wanting to have an enjoyable game, none of them were ever banned. We had conflicts and there were even a few notable fights, but we never resorted to bans and we never lost players as a result of not banning. It's something I would like to help another server owner be able to say about their world.
Why Be an Admin: --- Simply put, I enjoy the challenges of conflict resolution. When I first joined Minecraft and joined my first server, I wasn't content. I would watch players fight over something minor while the moderators did little but threaten to mute, kick or ban the noisy players. By the end of the conflagration one player or both were banned and oftentimes the server would be missing two previously very valuable community members. And why? Because two people got into an argument and the staff members didn't want to take the time to diffuse the situation.
I would like to help administrate a server whose staff is just as accountable as its base players, and I trust that those servers would be eager to respond in kind.
How Often are You Online: --- I generally spend anywhere between 5-10 hours online throughout a given day. I have a full-time job at my local charity and consider all other hours not reserved for sleeping potential leisure time.
What Plugins Can You Use: --- Quite a few. Most importantly: Bukkit, LogBlock, Towny, iConomy, WorldEdit, and a suite of anti-grief and security plugins. For those few plugins I haven't encountered, five minutes with Google will bring me up to speed.

Feel free to post a response here or send me a private message with any questions or concerns. I'm happy to discuss possibilities with whomever has the ability to make staff decisions. Naturally, I am perfectly fine if server owners would feel more comfortable with a probationary period before a full staff position is decided upon.
