Welcome to Forthwind's thread. Previously, this original post was formatted much differently. It had many more things on it, lots of spoilers, pictures... I've decided that all that stuff isn't really what people want. You want simplicity. Something that's straight and to the point, and carries on directly from what you expected to see, based on the thread title. I am KingDragoner, the Owner of this server. Let's get to it, shall we?
First, you may be interested in what our rank structure looks like. Let's take a look.
Our ranks.
Guest,
Basic Member, Junior Member, Senior Member,
Basic Builder, Junior Builder, Senior Builder,
Basic Mod, Junior Mod, Senior Mod,
Admin, Manager, Owner.
Guests.
Guests typically make up the majority of the server's population. No application, registration, or anything like that is required to become a Guest. Just connect to the server, and boom, there you go.
Guests don't really have any restrictions, compared to a Basic Member. They can build, destroy, buy and sell things with iConomy, set their home, and all the typical stuff. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head that they don't have, is the ability to make ChestShops.
Members.
We have three different levels of membership. Basic, Junior, and Senior.
Basic Members.
A simple application is required to become one of these guys. They can't make ChestShops yet, but they're considered part of the community. I wish I could say more about Basic Members, but that's really it. They're the first step towards becoming a Junior Member, and eventually, a Senior Member.

What you plan to do as a Basic Member:
Junior Members.
To become one of these guys, you simply need to have been a Basic Member for at least a week. The promotion is semi-automatic. Semi because you'll probably have to yell at us and let us know.
Junior Members get access to being able to set a couple more /sethomes. They can make ChestShops, buy plots within the spawn town (once we get that set up), and... that's all I can think of at the moment.
Senior Members.
To become a Senior Member, you need to have been a Basic Member for at least a month. Like before, yell at us once you've been a Member for a month. We'll look up your app to verify, then you'll be promoted.
Senior Members get access to a few more /sethomes, and... I actually think that's it. Huh. We need to find something else to give them, haha. Oh, they can also do /setmyspawn, which effectively functions as a personal spawn, which is accessible with /myspawn.
Builders.
Here we go. These guys have all the fun, don't they? Like Members, they're split up into three different levels. Basic, Junior, and Senior Builder.
Basic Builder.
Simple application required. I'd go into detail about the rank, but you guys know what Builders are, don't you? They build. This is pretty much nothing more than a trial rank. No WorldEdit powers, at all.
Builders have access to our creative flatland world. Creative mode is automatically gained upon entering, and lost upon leaving, which works out perfectly. Upon promotion, these guys are to go into this world- when they get around to it- and build somethin' pretty. Once done, they give us a yell, and we come check it out. If it's nice and we think they're talented enough to be a Junior Builder, they'll be promoted right then and there.

What you plan to do as a Basic Builder:
Junior Builders.
As mentioned already, this rank is attained when you build somethin' pretty, and we think you're good enough to be promoted.
Junior Builders are our, what we like to call, single-target builders. This means that they're talented in building a single object. Doesn't really matter how big. It's a single idea. Good detailing, a nice medieval theme to it, and an overall impressive appeal are we're looking for.
Junior Builders get access to pretty much every WorldEdit command, except the powerful, large-scale terrain-editing commands, such as //snow, //thaw, //expand vert, and others that they just won't really need.
Senior Builders.
This rank is attained when you build something in our creative world that shows you deserve the rank. Access to pretty much every single WorldEdit command, as well as the ability to change the gamemode of players, for doing projects outside of the creative world.
Senior Builders are our multi-target, big idea builders. They build things which consist of multiple single-target creations. A perfect example of this is a town. The town as a whole is a multi-target build, while each individual building- stores, town halls, fountains- is a single-target build.
While they're usually capable of doing the entire thing theirselves, it's intended for a Senior Builder to be teamed up with a group of Junior Builders. The Senior keeps the big picture in his head, while instructing Juniors to build what and where. If a good, solid group can be formed, it'll be largely possible for us to erect an entire town in a matter of a couple days.
Don't worry about the organization. This is only during projects, and the projects themselves are optional. You can build with a team, building what you're told to for the majority of your time on the server, or you can spend the majority of your time building solo in our creative world, while helping out occasionally.
However, if you're intending to spend pretty much all of your time building your own things in creative, then this probably isn't the place for you. Go check out Singleplayer, or find a Creative World that doesn't really care and lets people build whatever.
Moderators.
Ahh, Moderators. The job of Moderators as a whole is to do exactly what the word means. To moderate (verb) means to make something moderate (adjective), or less severe. They take the edge off of things. They deal with the heaps of absolute crap that constantly flows from the player base. Answering questions in chat, investigating something that's been griefed, possibly repairing griefed things, dealing with arguments between players... the list goes on.
Basic Moderators.
The first step. Pretty easy to get- via application- these guys generally have a low amount of power.
Basic Moderators have the ability to mute players and forcefully teleport players to them, which is intended for dealing with arguments.
They also have access to setting up WorldGuard fields (plus adding owners to those fields, redefining fields, and all the little technical stuff). They're tasked with protecting player houses and dealing with any other WorldGuard issues that they have the power to handle.

Current rank (if any):
Why you want this rank:
Previous Staff positions (any server):
Why you're qualified for this rank:
What you plan to do as a Basic Mod:
Junior Moderators.
More power, more influence, more trust. Gained after we've seen an active, helpful Basic Moderator do his thing, while having stuck with the server for a little while. I'd say about a week.
The only thing I can think of off the top of my head that they gain is the ability to jail and kick players. More trust, more power. Oh, they also have slightly more powerful teleportation commands.
Senior Moderators.
Gained after having been with us for a good amount of time, while being active, helpful, and using their powers correctly. About a month, I'd say.
Senior Moderators gain access to the tempban command. They keep an eye on both Basic and Junior Moderators, but mostly Basics. They can recommend, with authority, that a Basic be promoted.
Seniors also get access to those all-too-famous MobDisguises (once we get the plugin working). Griefers beware. Seniors also get even better teleportation commands.
Admins.
This isn't something you apply for. This is something you earn. Admins go a step further than Moderators, dealing with more technical aspects of the server. Plugins, permissions, errors, crashes, and the like. Admins get OP, giving them the power to stop the server, change game time, toggle downfall, ban, and all the other console commands. They gain a heap of other commands as well. Extremely trustworthy, extremely mature, and extremely useful, Admins function as assistants to the Managers and the Owner.
Managers.
Managers are way, way up there, practically being co-owners of the server. They have -almost- as much say on things as the Owner does. They, along with the Owner, are pretty much always always discussing ways to make the server better, or issues that the server has. Managers are the ones who set things in motion, once cleared by the Owner. They gain access to every single command that's been enabled on the server.
The Owner.
He is none other than myself: KingDragoner. The Owner focuses on the server as a whole, making sure everything is working as it should be. He makes executive decisions when it comes to things that will change something about the server considerably, such as new plugins.
The Owner relies heavily on the advice and opinions of his staff, while keeping the server itself a highest priority. You might have noticed the Poll at the top of this thread. At the time of writing this, each question pretty much had equal support for both sides. (Be sure to vote!)
I don't really know what else to say about myself, haha. If a Mod, Admin, or anyone else is causing trouble, you can come directly to me, and I'll deal with it. My highest concern is the success and proper growth of the server. Whether it's a Basic Member or a Manager, my job is to keep absolutely everything in line.

That about wraps up the ranks. Here's a quick list of our plugins. It may be a little inaccurate right now. I'll update it soon.

*WorldEdit
*iConomy
*SimpleAutoAnnouncer
*LWC (Lock With Commands)

That's pretty much everything! If you want to create a nice, big post of comments, opinions, suggestions, questions, and that sort of thing, then feel free! Just make sure it's not a little two- or three-line post, or it could end up removed by Forum Moderators. Make it detailed, make it lengthy, make it legit. I'd love to hear from you guys!
Last but not least... the IP! It's in my signature.
Have fun everyone. KingDragoner out.
Uh, hey guys. KingDragoner here- former Owner of this server. I'm sorry to say this, but... yeah, this server's gone.
I don't wanna get in trouble for advertising games, but I'll just say I've found interest in another one. Minecraft is still great and all, and I'll probably play it again in the future, but I just didn't want to dedicate nearly the amount of time I needed to in order to run a server.
Nobody's taken up my post. I've lost contact with my top Admin and the guy who was paying for hosting. The server's done, guys.
I honestly thought this thread would be dead by now. I just checked up on it randomly today.
I really apologize guys. We did have something great going, but... yeah...
Good luck to you all in finding another server to suit your needs.

Reason for wanting this position (requires paragraph): I have always loved building in minecraft. From big things to small things I always found myself building where my friends would go out and get materials for me. I want this position because it is, if you will, a passion of mine to build. I have actually been digging through the forum to find building positions, and when I actually get started I randomly get kicked. Hoping that this one, being a more detailed application that it won't happen and that I'll be able to build on!
Experience (details): Building and wiring for my server edsMCserv, also a hamachi server.
Contact info (Skype?): Skype, but if chosen will message name through p.m
Dedicated time: 2-3 Hours on Weekdays, 3-8 On Weekends
What you can bring: A positive attitude and a strong work ethic
Proof of work: I have been my own server's Map Builder since day 1. They put a lot of trust into my work and I have yet to fail them. My work, and our server is edsMCserv.

Reason for wanting this position (requires paragraph): I was also a moderator on my server and helped all who needed it, when I wasn't helping players in the server I was usually building more onto the main server spot or, as creepily as it sounds, watching other players build so that I could give input and possibly use one of the designs I saw in one of my buildings.
Experience (details): Read above, my own server.
Contact info (Skype?): Skype (see builder application)
Dedicated time: (see builder application)
What you can bring: (see builder application)
Proof of experience: Read above
Builder Application accepted. For now, however, we'll have to see about the Moderator Application. Thank you for applying.
In Game Name: DawgDrool
Age: 17
Reason For Applying: I really like playing minecraft, as I feel it is a very enjoyable and social game. But what I like even more is helping keep a server friendly and fun. I like helping people because I think that the social aspect of minecraft is even more important than the building aspect. (My Opinion Of Course)
Experience: I have been an Admin on 2 other servers in the past. I have a fairly good knowledge of the plugin commands, and I know how to deal with player disputes.
Skype: Sorry, don't have one right now.
Dedicated Time: I will play as often as possible.
Proof of Experience: I dont know how to prove it other than showing you. =)
Thankyou for your consideration,
DawgDrool
Application denied. Thank you for your efforts in taking an interest in this position, but we are looking for more dedicated Moderators, not just Minecraft players. Also, your post seemed to have a lack of effort. We feel as if your playstyle would be more appropriate for a different, more casual position. Good luck in your future applications for other servers.
If that's how you feel, I don't think I regret being denied, as ownership of this server is clearly not what I look for in a server. And please don't give me condescending suggestions regarding my "playstyle" as I don't think you know what you are talking about. Good luck in getting anyone to play on your obviously pretentious server.

Reason/Experience: My minecraft experience dates back to beta a bit over 1 year ago. I have played on a select few servers since then. I find loyalty to a server is the most rewarding trait one can have. I enjoy building large structures primarily, specifically churches, and I have recently finished building one on a server called duncsweb. On that server I find that the admins and moderators are rather power hungry, and thus spawns my want for a new server to play on. I hope you find my builds adequate for this title, I have linked below. You can also go onto duncsweb and /t spawn rivendell to check out the church on that server in person if you wish.
Contact info (Skype?): PM me for Skype. I also have Mumble and Teamspeak3.
Dedicated time: 2-4 hours a day between 0-400 GMT - 0
What you can bring: I can bring a positive hard working team player to the team of your server and hopefully draw some other players with this same attitude.

Moderator Application
Reason for wanting this position (requires paragraph): My primary wish to become a moderator, is because of the poor moderation I have had to deal with in the past. However I also feel very strongly about helping others with the game. I like to approach moderation from a builder and a helper perspective. I am always sitting on global chat to help anyone with a question, while I could be working on a build that would benefit the entire server. I also from time to time like to sit on global chat when I have nothing better to do and help out any in need.
Experience (details): I have only one server of experience on Minecraft, but I also have experience on a turn based fighting game called toribash.
Minecraft Server: allyourbase.dyndns-ip.org (this server was going strong until an update happened and birdman3733, the host, didn't feel like updating it. This is also why I have no photoshops of builds I did on this server)
Toribash - a game with a fairly large player base and quite the active community. I was a moderator of both the forums economy (in-game items and credits) as well as playing fairly in game. On top of that I was part of the "Promo-team while it was in effect wish promoted active gameplay and kept the community jumping as well.
Thank you for taking the time to review my application, I would enjoying coming to meet you on your server and checking it out as well!
Lebo,
Okay. I had typed out a better response for you, but I accidentally ended up deleting it. So, long story short, you were denied. Sorry. Good luck in your future applications.
I replied to you as well, so long story short, your application was denied, however, you're being accepted as a normal member. The IP is in my signature. Welcome aboard, let it be known who you are when you log in.

Reason for wanting this position (requires paragraph): I am outstanding when it comes to being a moderator or an administrator. I do all my work like it should be done and I am always productive in what I'm doing. Whether it's catching cheaters or greeting newcomers, I'm always on task and doing what is best. I am currently only helping out on a server and not doing so much on it so I decided I should look for a good enough server. I viewed this topic and it showed to be professional and is looking like it would become a fun and lovable server for everyone.

Reason for wanting this position: The reason I would like this position is because for the past two years, other than the time when playing on the Atomiccow server as an admin, and on my own VioCraft server, I have been somewhat bored with my time playing minecraft. I would like to join this server as ever since those roles I have loved helping and being more than just a player on the server. I love to serve the server community as well as met and interact with the players who are apart of it. This server seems like a great opportunity for me as the owners from what I have read are very mature mush as myself. Another reason for wanting to be mod on this server is that I feel as though other server who ask for people like me or leaders, usually do not have such high requirements causing their servers to fall in the hands of untrustworthy selfish kids who cannot handle power. I hope as though from this short paragraph you can see I do pride myself on being an honest hardworking player and that you will take my application seriously.
Experience (details): My experience consists of admin on two servers one being a minor no good server, and the other being the Atomiccow server which I eventually became World Admin on before the server was shut down in the early summer. Also I owned two servers one of which I still do which is the VioCraft server which is sadly shutting down in the coming months. These two servers i modded myself and VioCraft at one point in time was a fully functioning server with over 200 registered users and an average of 45-60 people on at one time. Lastly I have been moderator on two small servers which fell after troubles with hosters.
Contact info (Skype?): My skype is Allstar349 although I do not use it much, I also have MSN and hotmail which is: [email protected]
Dedicated time: My usual time will probably be around 5-7pm Pacific and could be longer depending on school and homework. The weekends will usually be long hours anywhere from 12-5 and sometimes late at night.
What you can bring: I can bring much experience as well as someone you can go to for modding advice and someone who can help with builds and normal minecraft playing.
Proof of experience: Here is the link to the post for Atomiccows server Atomiccow <-- Its the original I'm not an admin yet on it.
And here is mine for the VioCraft server: VioCraft
Hope you consider me; If I am not accepted for a mod, I would still love the opportunity to become a builder.
Thx: Allstar
