I...may have missed a page somewhere, but then again maybe not.
I noticed that the most posted reply in a lot of the new pack threads is "Please read the rules." A lot of newcomers are making texture/resource pack topics that don't follow the established rules of this forum (Most commonly, not posting screenshots, or adfly links for content they did not create.) Now up until now, I kind of blindly followed this habit of telling people to follow the rules. But when I actually wanted to mention a specific part of the rules (which hosting sites to use) I couldn't find the page to reference. And actually I'd been searching for a while for a list of rules to this forum. None of the stickies seemed relevant. Today, I think I found them? In the "Resource Pack Central & Old Texture Tips" sticky. Isn't this a bit ambiguous? (And I think it's only specific to that thread.)
If I've missed something, please direct me to the proper page, because I haven't been able to find it. But that being said, I think an official PLEASE READ THE RULES BEFORE POSTING sticky should be made apparent. Even if it's floating around somewhere on the site, I still feel it might be better that it's just made apparent here, where it matters most. Heck I'd even write one myself if no one else wanted to do it. I think a lot of these newcomer tussles can be avoided if it's out there in bold for them to see (A lot of people don't can't seem to find out how to post images either.) Yeah, sure we'll have those people who will go ahead and post anyways, without any regard for the rules, but I do believe those incidents will decrease if the rules are readily available. I've seen quite a few people ask where it was written that they had to do X before posting.
Any thoughts? I thought it best to post this here, since it's specific to this forum, as opposed to the texture discussion or sound discussion subforums.
I agree, at one time there actually was a sticky with the texture rules in it but for some reason it has been taken down and now the rules are listed in a separate page entirely.
