I am going to try my hand at a texture pack, since my world is currently crashing when I turn in a southerly direction. I have several things to be changed:
I want to ask before I cut open my game files and diddle-doodle around.
By changing the wool textures to that of a slightly transparent, wouldn't it be theoretically possible to make stained glass without using a mod, modloader, or any of the other bulky software?
Yay if it's possible.
A "screw you" if you did it already.
And a "#$%^# you" if it hasn't been done, but you steal the idea from me. :dry.gif:
When the textures are actually finished (that is, if it hasn't been done before and I can actually make one correctly) I'll put them up on this post for use in all your needs.
However the only problem with this is that it is not light-permeable. Meaning light would be blocked out. However, I can easily solve this by taking the current glass and making it another color, to let light in anyways. So please pick in the poll.
I am running several ideas through my head. These sound best to me:
Re-done torches, possibly a Gothic style.
Re-done bedrock, pitch blackness to represent the complete bottom of the map
Another Re-done bedrock, Transparent to the player, to see into the void! (Vote in poll 2)
Please, tell me what you think.
Also, I'm sorry if this is wrong section, for whatever. ?_?

Nope. Most blocks are represented as "transparent", like leaves, glass and all blocks that you can walk through, or "opaque", like dirt, bricks or wool. Wool can't have any transparency except full transparency in it, but even then, transparency in opaque blocks doesn't work well at all.
Sorry about that :sad.gif:
I'm going to try it anyway, just in case.
