This is going to be the first time that I make a resource pack, so I am making it for 1.8 so there isn't as much stuff I have to retexture and stuff. But I want to know if you think I should go for a simplified resource pack as my first one. If the majority is no, then I will make the simplified one for myself and then make a different kind. If yes, then I will make it and post it on this forum and maybe have you all rate it. Keep in mind that this is my first resource pack that I will make and it might not be the best either way.
What you should make is a pack that you actually want to use and to work on. A resource pack is a LOT of work, even for older versions. If it's not a project that you love and a pack you want to see continue to develop then you're going to burn out and stop working on it. If you're a fan of simplified packs but somehow there isn't a single one that you personally want to use (out of like a million of those things) then you should definitely make your own. On the other hand if you don't care for the style, then you shouldn't bother. Instead, you should focus on making the pack that YOU want to make and, again, more importantly the pack that you want to USE.

I hope that helps you.
