About a month ago, I released a texture pack called Buldercraft (That's BULDER, not BUILDER.) Which was supposed to be a default re-make. I received feedback with some messages saying I lacked shading. I decided to completely re-make the pack with a whole new feel. I am not releasing it yet, as I still have a lot of work to do, but I want some opinions on what you think of the pack so far. I will post some screenshots below. Thank you for reading!
Not bad. Not good... but not bad either. You have a very mixed bag here, but it shows a lot of promise.
Let's start with what you've done well.
The Repeaters and piston are both simple, but stylish enough that they feel right. I particularly like the piston as it shows a good use of shading. The two don't seem to belong together, with the piston having more variation than the repeater, but both are still good textures. If you emulate one block throughout the pack, let it be your piston. It's your best texture, imo.
Likewise, the redstone is simple (like the repeaters), but shows enough technical know-how and style that it makes sense along side its redstone brethren.
The blocks that I'm guessing are your planks are also pretty well done, though I really question your color choices. However the shading is decent and it's a style not often seen. It honestly looks more like a brick texture than planks, but that's my opinion.
The stone texture is likewise decent. As far as simple packs go, it's definitely good. I'd really like to see how it tiles, though, before I make any judgements.
I'm not a fan of your armor textures... but that's me. They have very pronounced lines, but those are present in the rest of the pack so at least it's consistent. I'd like to see the lines turned down just a bit as it seems too pronounced.
I can't really tell because the glass is so dark, but it seems to be a decent texture. Maybe up the contrast a little so we can see the shading you've done, but otherwise it's a decent glass texture.
This brings me to... everything else.
The cobblestone texture (I'm assuming that's what it is) almost certainly does not tile well. I'd like to see it tiled to be sure, but you have a couple of very large areas that will almost certainly make for a very obvious pattern. Additionally, the separation lines really need to be aliased out a bit. They're too pixel-y for the rest of the texture, which is surprisingly well-shaded.
Basically everything that I said for cobble can be repeated for what I'm assuming is the dirt texture.
The grass is way too high contrast, and is laid out in such a way as to make for obvious lines. In your screenshot, it's easy to see an obvious repeating pattern as the grass texture tiles. This is something you really need to avoid. Try altering the direction of your lines, and decreasing the contrast. I do like that you've varied the hue, though. It's something few artists do with their grass textures, and something I really like!
The menu is... flat. Just flat. There's nothing to it, and that's boring.
Your biggest failing is the logs. I'm assuming they're logs anyway. They're the brightly colored gradient things in the first image. Wow they are bad. No offense, but given the quality of the rest of the pack I'm really curious as to what you were thinking. They have no texture, they're just a smooth cylinder of a colors too bright to match the rest of the pack. The tops are two-color circles that don't mesh with the rest of the textures, nor are they different from log to log. If the rest of what you've shown is any indication, you can do better than this. By a lot!
Sorry for all the harsh criticism. You have a good start. You just need to carry the style of the best blocks throughout and fix your tiling errors. After that, I think this might be a pack that I'll enjoy!

Thank you for the response.
I do agree with you, I'm not a big fan of the log texture either (it was the first texture I made) as well as the menu. I am planning on re-texturing both. For the leather armor, the thick borders are due to the screenshot itself, I will show a better viewed pic of them, I wanted them to look more like cloths if anything. I will also post screens showing how the cobble looks side by side.
