How do I make my skin compatible with HD texture packs?
When I get an HD texture pack, I see the amazing armor. I put the awesome-looking new armor on, except, instead of looking awesome on my character's body, it just looks like the regular armor!
How do I make my armor on my character look like the icon? I see plenty of YouTubers wearing the awesome armor. HOW DO I DO THAT?!
(Please excuse my noobyness, raging, and lack of knowledge on skins and texture packs)
"How do I make my skin compatible with HD texture packs?"
In concern to your question, I assume you're not actually talking about your avatar skin but the armor texture because they're two different things and "skin" is not necessarily a term that's used interchangeably in Minecraft to refer to armor. Skin generally only refers to the texture applied to your player or the mobs in a texture pack.
What texture pack are you using?
I suppose the reason you may be seeing the default armor on your person would probably be because the texture artist hasn't actually made actual textures for the armor yet (except for the icons that represents each piece) or if they have, the armor files are missing (which would cause Minecraft to automatically replace them with default textures).
