Note: Im new to this minecraft forum site, this is my first post, and im not sure im putting this thread in the right topic.
Ok guys, im not really a big fan of the music in the minecraft music discs... so i tried to add a diffrent sound to
the music discs.. and here i am!
So first thing you want to do to add your own music to the music discs, is to get your music on your computer, i think it can be in any kind of sound file (NOTE: you can choose only 12 songs, because minecraft have only 12 music discs).
You need to understand that the sound of the music discs in minecraft is always the same by default.
Therefore, we have resources packs. what you are going to do is to make a simple resource pack that will add your own sound (music) to the music discs, instead the default sound of the discs.
You also need to understand that all of the sounds in minecraft are in anogg sound file, so you need to convert your music to ogg sound file (if it already ogg, you dont have to). I recommending using this converter http://audio.online-.../convert-to-ogg , but if you have other converter you can use yours.
Next step, create a folder called "Minecraft Music" (you can call it whatever you like) and just leave it in the desctop.
Now, convert all of your music through the converter (if you haven't converted it already), and drag the new ogg files you got to the Minecraft Music folder (Coverting the music might take a while...).
Next step- open your Minecraft Music folder, then name each one of the songs in a different name, from these names: 13, cat, blocks, chirp, far, mall, mellohi, stal, strad, ward, 11, wait.
As you probably noticed, these are the names of the music discs. we need to make minecraft think that these song with the fake names of the real discs are the real discs.
Last step!
Simply open the default resource pack you downloaded, go to assets\minecraft\records , then delete all of the content in that folder, and drag all of the content of the Minecraft Mucis and paste in there.
There you go! you just need to rename the default resource pack you downloaded, drag it to the resource pack folder in appdata\.minecraft and choose it in game! you are done!
I hope it helped, this is my first post and i dont know if i did everything right, or if this thread is even interesting anybody...
I am sorry for my english, and if anybody need help i will be more then glad to help.
just heard Flight by Tristam & Braken instead of cat... way much better
1. The title is misleading. You aren't "adding" records, you're changing them.
2. Correct section
3. Obviously an asset is "the same by default" if you don't change it
4. The step of downloading the default resource pack is completely unnecessary. Since you only need what you want changed, if you have the pack.mcmeta file, all you have to do is make the folders you need until you get to the music folder to put the files in.
5. You forgot to say "Don't distribute songs you don't have the rights to distribute." as that could get you into some unwanted legal trouble.

Also why do we need to DL the default when we already have it? Open the .jar, and drag the assets folder out.. bam done. Really why do people keep thinking they are doing us a favor by offering the default for download?
you are right... i didnt think of that LOL
but its my first post... i have just trying so be helpful...
if you think i should, i can delete this post and write what i wrote in this post just with some corrections.
