So I want to make a 32x32 terrain file so I can have more detailed blocks and such, but once I go into minecraft, lines appear everywhere, like floating at the side of torches. Could anyone give me some help?!
I'm using GIMP and setting the pixels to 512x512, setting the interpolation to none. Still, nothing works.
I'm not really sure what the problem is. Did you re-size the terrain by exactly 200%? And are you using a patcher? If so, I don't know what could be wrong.

I'm using mcpatcher, I patched minecraft that's it. And what do you mean 200%?

What's that? Sounds like 'SSSSSSSSSSSssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss. . .' BOOOM!
Did you check if the area for the torch is actually 32x32 pixels big? Because from what you described it sounds like the texture of the door (which is obviously right next to it) is overlapping with the texture of the torch. Even if it has the right size, it could be that you accidentally displaced a whole set of textures, so check the spacing up to dirt as well.
How would I tell if it wasn't correct?

1.Make a new file, 32x32, paste it over your terrain file, if the tiles below don't match up, then you don't have it at the right size.
2. Copy some of the textures and paste them into a few file, check size, is it 32x32?
3. Check the overall size of the terrain. a 32x pack is 512x512.
4. When you upsized, what settings did you use? You may have faint bluring that sense most blocks don't support such transparencies are coming out as a solid line.

I think you need to read though that. :3

Really go read The All-Inclusive Guide to Texturing and look at the part for HD textures and follow the guide.
