So, I've had this idea for a while now, but strayed away from it because I assumed it wouldn't be possible in Minecraft, and I've never really tried to do anything with the idea because, well... I don't know how to code.
So, I've decided to post this idea here, in the suggestions.
My Idea:
Rewrite Minecraft's terrain generator to add intricate, naturally forming, little blocks such as in the Little Blocks Mod.
I haven't really thought out all the details, such as how you would mine and whatnot, but if it CAN be pulled off, I think it'd be kinda cool to see; giving the terrain a more realistic feel.
I'm not exactly sure how flexible coding can be, which is why I've doubted the idea before.
Things I think may cause problems: Mining:
I'm not exactly sure yet how well mining would work, seeing as there'd be lots of little blocks in the way.
Water/Lava Flow:
I'd think water/lava would have trouble flowing if it weren't a full block. (Little water/lava blocks too?)
Lag:
Thats a lot of blocks for one screen to handle...
This isn't just rewriting the terrain generator.
This is rewriting Lighting, Rendering, Any handling related to blocks, ect.
You're essentially creating almost an entirely new game.
I can't see anyone doing this, you're also needing to process about 9x as much as you currently are.
You'd need an extremly fast proccessor. (3.4 or more ghz? )
And quite a bit of ram ...
I can't see this being made, nor can i see it being practical at all.
