ive heard this is possible but idk how im looking to add mechanics to a mob im not talking just stats and effects they have but like lets say i wanted a boss to periodically tp both of you to the center of the arena and if you dont move a few squares away when your tped youll take high damage or youll get blindness for 5 seconds but the mob will stop attking but if you move or attk youll take damage mayby even spawn mobs at half heath that will heal the mob boss that you need to kill ect im wondering how can i achieve something like this

You will still be applying effects. You can accomplish a lot of this with /execute.
I would start off by naming your mob. That way when you use /execute You can specify your boss
For example I will name my boss "boss"
/execute @e[name=boss] ~~~ teleport @e[type=player] ~~~ (make those last 3 tildas the center of the room.)
Then after that set a timer that will do damage to players who don't move out of the center.
Make a command to teleport a named armorstand to the boss We will name it "bossStand"
/execute @e[name=bossStand] ~~~ teleport @e[name=Boss] ~~~ (put this in an RCB and power it until after your attack and the players move)
