Hey all, I'm looking to setup a Realm for family and friends to enjoy, but would like some help and suggestions.
I feel that Realms is the most appropriate way for me to approach this due to the majority of people playing through console, a few on Win10.
First question I have is if Realms allows you to have more than one map active at a time. I would like to be able to primarily run a survival game, but have the option to jump into a creative world as desired. I don't expect this will work. If I understand correctly, I can switch worlds at will, but can people be on a survival map, and others on a creative one at the same time?
If the above isn't possible, I would like to have a creative zone in my survival world. I've figured out some basic steps, like teleporting players to the distant creative area, and changing game mode, and essentially disallowing ender chests in the creative area to prevent cheating. My biggest concerns at this time are somehow saving inventory when leaving the survival area, and keeping creative mode players in the correct location.
I would also like a spawn area that is unbreakable, but I think that is easily accomplished with adventure mode and simple command blocks, correct?
TLDR:
Can I have survival and creative in the same world?
Am I able to save a players inventory upon entering the creative zone, and return it once leaving?
Thoughts and suggestions to keep creative and survival separate? Ender chests, portals, other concerns?
Ways to prevent players from entering the creative area and leaving without returning to survival mode?
Suggestions for a simple server spawn this is grief proof?
Thanks for your help, I can't be the only father with multiple kids who occasionally want to play minecraft together.
