Nope. Now, I'm going to ignore all possible ways of preventing it (proper storage, a cure for the cure, ect) and just think that it'll either work or not. Now, I MAY have the chance to cure many suffering people, but if it were to fail, it would kill every single person, an extremely higher amount than any human lost to cancer. Then we also count in the animal population. Yeah, too much death in cure not working than without testing the cure at all.
If we want a cancer cure, go to the naked mole rats. Those things aren't affected by cancer.

My avatar-Madison Gotha. She knows various weapons, she's a mage/sage, and is somewhat immortal. Madison has the capability of taming and communicating monsters, a genetic trait passed down by her father. 26 physically, 1400-something mentally, and a Lofty Peakian/Zenithian mix. Doesn't really like being called an elf and hates being called human..
I might be Moderator, but don't bother treating me too special. And don't make tons of Ban Hammer jokes, please. Also, I'm an Off-Topic only Mod. Don't ask me to lock a thread or something if it's not in the off-topic
Cancer doesn't put much of a dent in the human population as a whole, it's certainly not the answer to population control natural or not.
Though I agree it wouldn't be worth taking the chance.
I guess the disease, along with a handful of others, don't really have a major effect on this planet, nearly forgetting about the other major causes of death.
I just realized I had the title at "Once Chance", LOL.
Anyways, I was doing some looking around because I got the idea of this thread from hearing about a possible cure for cancer on the radio that was put in as a gas. And look what I found! (it's a game with a similar scenario) http://www.awkwardsilence.co.uk/OneChance.html

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.
