Dreaming? When I was younger, I had a dream and was sure it was real thus followed the facts presented to me in the dream. It's only now, after gaining a bit of intelligence, that I know it's impossible.
I once dreamed that I cooked a fried egg. The next morning it happened. But it happened EXACTLY like it did in the dream. Nothing different at all. According to Doctor Who, time travel was always possible in dreams. Don't believe it? Try thinking about that and the infinite universe theory, what's beyond existence, and what's inside a black hole all at the same time. Or just ask yourself what reality is.
I've had a few of what you could call... prophetic dreams. It's never exactly the same, but I'll find myself doing the same thing as In my dream the night before. I also have rare bouts of EXTREME deja vu, where I am absolutely convinced that I have done the exact thing before. It gets so bad that I freeze and immediately try and find out when I've done it before, and now that I type this I just had a bit of deja vu, no joke. I can't say I have "memory hiccups" as described in the OP, but I used to forget how I got into my room, or when I think back about the previous day I only remember a few minutes of what happened.
