Too humble is bloody annoying. What's life without any competition or arguments? But with that being said, too cocky is equally as annoying, since these sorts of people never listen to anyone but themselves for the most part.
I like a little cocky but a little humble at the same time.

I think a mix of both is good, being self-confident without being arrogant

Oh Raynbow, you silly goose, you are so lucky you said this here where I can't give you a hard time about it. =P

Agreed. Everybody wants to maintain a balance, the issue is you can never be both simultaneously, if you know what I mean. What winds up happening is you come off as cocky about certain things and humble about others. Depending on the length and context of the conversation you could come across as overly cocky or humble.
Being humble doesn't necessarily mean that you are not confident to yourself. Nor being cocky means you are confident. That being said: world is full of d*cks. Those who act that they are superior but has an IQ Level below Gold Fish. Knowing who you are, what you know and understanding that you are not perfect and that there is a room for improvement at all times...
Plus - it is always easier to put a smile into someones face while being humble.
I'm humble, myself. Cockiness is kind of annoying to me, depending on how cocky someone is. Personally I think a happy medium is best for this sort of thing, as balance is key.
