Although I dislike to provide a response that doesn't contribute so much to the thread, I'm going to state that I wouldn't bring anyone back. It would surely be unwise.

If we brought Einstein or Da Vinci back from beyond the grave, sure, they might invent some neat stuff, but imagine what they could do wrong. It would take ages for them to get a full grasp of their capabilities using our modern technology, and then they'd still not have so much of an understanding and could easily do bad things; things were done very differently back in their time. The world was a much more violent and evil place, who's to say they wouldn't combine our technologies with their genius to wreak havoc on the world and instead of progressing our knowledge and comprehension of the universe as a species, they could start to revert us back in time, technologically and socially.

Not only that, but there is the issue of bringing someone back to life in the first place. People would find out about it even if the reanimation, I suppose you'd call it, took place in secret. And then before you know it, half the world will want to use the power of bringing back the dead for themselves, to bring back lost relatives, or just out of curiosity, and then it won't be long before some immature idiot brings back Hitler or someone equally as badly judged by the majority of our world. Then, there'd be the religious, the believers that bringing back the dead is morally wrong and unjustified by God. It could destroy the world.

So in the end, I wouldn't bring anyone back, nor would I wish for the technology to bring people back be created or discovered. It could only mean bad things for our world. Maybe I'm putting too much thought into this. Maybe I'm just hiding the fact that I can't think of an interesting historical figure that hasn't been mentioned already. But I'm just stating my opinion.
