I was talking crap to these Brits while playing burnout on xbox live and I said something like "We kicked your ass in the civil war." Obviously I meant to say revolutionary war but I felt like a moron.
Kid in my class (Sophomore at the time) called Africa a country. When corrected, he said "Well, but the bottom half is, right?", obviously referring to South Africa. The entire class was cracking up.
I had someone said last year in my history class that Abraham Lincoln was our first president and in high school during my freshman year in my geography class someone said the north pole was a continent.
Well, last year in my AP History course, our teacher told us that he'd had a person in his class and got into a 15-minute argument with them because they thought that Russia was across the world from the United States (on a flat map the left edge has Alaska and such, and the right edge has the end of Russia and Japan, but you knew that), and they thought that, since it's a map of the Earth, it must be read as a flat map since the Earth obviously isn't a sphere. Such free thinkers should be put in their place by the Inquisition.
A few people were arguing yesterday about when Columbus sailed to the Americas, one said in the 1700's and the other said in the 1800's.
Also, my World History teacher can't pronounce words such as Giza, Tutankhamen, zigorat and so on. He also gets a lot of other information wrong, and he is really bias with his religious views. I don't know how he's a history teacher.

I knew a teacher like this! Constantly he would shove his belief on us, about how we are wrong and only atheism is right... Hate those kinds of teachers.
History teachers must be OBJECTIVE. Thankfully though, all other history teachers I've had were incredibly good.

I have other teachers like this, somehow religion comes up everyday in English. She printed out bible verses for us and taught us about biblical stories for some reason. My other history teacher is one of the best teachers I think I've ever had, though.

In this case though I think she wanted you guys to analize the syntax of those verses and all, she just didn't state it... Happened with a portuguese teacher once (not in bliblical verses though). Just a theory.

It was quite obvious she meant more for it, but I may just be a little bias. Biblical text is interesting though.

Actually, that was a civil war. America was part of the UK, and there was a war within the UK, between its colonies and self. Except in that civil war, the countries split. 'Murica!
And before you ask we were in 8th grade.
"You mean Egypt isn't in Europe?"
'Merika
don't expect me to be on much.

Best thing I've seen all day.
The worst thing I've heard is people denying the earth is billions of years old.

"I mean, dude, I only hear of dinosaurs from MILLIONS of years ago! Not billions!"

This girl was looking at a egyption artifact in a museum. The person working there said it was from South America.
The idiot replies: It looks pretty egyptian to me.
