I go a mile in less than seven minutes, so I am very slow although I can safely say that once a week is kinda weak. Try for twice a day dude.

One day, there will be someone who looks at my signature and wonders "who gives a damn?"
How about buying dumbells? you could exersise everyday like my uncle used to, or you could just do push ups at home.
How much are those? I've never bothered to check their prices for some reason.
Oh yeah, I've thought of something: is it recommended to attach weights to your ankles for running? (say, after you have jogged/ran daily for a month or two)
Hmm. The prices are still reasonable (to me, that is. I've also went to check the prices in my country as well. Still OK.). Besides, I won't be the only one using it, so the cost will be shared.
Any exercise burns calories, so in that regard it will improve your physical shape. Don't expect a massive jump in aerobic fitness though; that'd require more frequent exercise.
I would go jogging, but when summer gets here in Florida...
And you're latest idea makes more sense than the first one.
I would say to just try it out.
I wouldn't do HIIT or long cardio sessions if you don't have access to a gym.
HIIT, High Intensity Interval Training will eat up your muscle.
Long cardio sessions will also eat up your muscle.
The only way to not lose muscle while doing this is either, eat at a calorie surplus or lift heavy.
I say do cardio for 20-25mins a day if your goal is to have a better cardiovascular system.
Also you say you want to gain strength. This is impossible unless you have access to a gym or weights.

You don't actually lose muscle mass, you stop gaining mass however. The amount of cardio and HIIT you would need to do to start losing mass would be enough to kill most people. As long as you have a calorie rich diet with lots of protein and are not on a deficit you won't lose mass.

You have to understand one thing...
This is like an RPG game, you can't be both a good sprinter and a long-distance runner.
Look at all the people who run long distance / long times (Marathon runners, soccer players, etc).
Now, look at the people who specialize at sprinting and quick bursts of speed (Football players, basketball players, etc).
See the difference? Their muscles, their physical build. People who are built for sprinting and quick bursts have a lot more muscle mass, people who run long distance and for long periods of time have smaller muscles that use up less energy than bigger ones and are more suited for long term running.

It's the difference between Type I and Type II muscle fibers.
Yes and no. Remember the rule of reversibility. Anything you build in a day, can be completely lost within 1-3 days. So I'd say jog for 30 minutes everyday.

Muscles can maybe weaken and degenerate over the years, but it's impossible to actually LOSE muscle mass unless in surgery. Not in that short period of time.

remember to pace yourself, you dont wanna blow up your heart now do you?
I don't believe a heart can explode with fire and ****, unless you slipped a small amount of gunpowder in someones heart, and lit it on fire.
OT: Possibly. It all depends on how many hills are where you live, how steep they are, and how far/fast you jog. YYou should do it 2 times a week for better results, but hey it's your life.

irl it has happened before. i heard about some people who ran too fast and their heart just failed on them, they were declared dead an hour later

I'll look into that. Thanks!
Three times at random days, maybe 20 minutes each day?

20 minutes a day is actually quite realistic once the summer vacation rolls around.

When it comes to heat, just bring loads of water
