I woke up this morning and hopped onto the computer to find a MSN thread about how men dont understand a ton of things about women.
So, i clicked and read through them, and most of them were completely silly, and some even stupid.
Take for example this one:
"Why dont Chicks use pick-up lines?"
Some of them do, but i would attribute that to the more assertive ones.
Most obviously, they dont need to because the tradiational role of who uses pickup lines is normally given to a man. there's a thing with woman that they need to be shown affection, praised, or turned on even, to want to go with a guy.
Its curiosity at first sight, and the pickup line is the starter to curiosity to see what that man is like.
Men though, if offered a relationship, will most of the time accept because it's like getting a bunch of free money or booze, or something equivelant to that, and most men dont mind that.
And lets not forget that any of these examples have many exceptions, but it can be attributed to most of the population.
Easily Anwsered enough.
It just takes a bit of Overthinking and underthinking it.
So OT, what do you think about "Female things" that supposedly confuse men?
Do you think they're as complicated as they are made out to be?
Or very simple, and alot of people dont know it?
There can never be a balance between man and woman. I disagree strongly.
Let's go back into history then into the present. I will quote in what I remember from the play Medea or whatever it is called. A Greek play. "Women are luckless." During this time, this was true. Women had no say. They did all the housework and fed the men. And if a man asked to marry a woman they could not refuse. This led to women having to develop certain ways of living. For example, they can multitask a lot easier than men.
Now, I'm going to the 1900s or whenever this was. I am not a person to remember dates. The women rebelled, and do know that now I am talking about America at this point. The women wanted rights. However, when we gave them rights, I found this to be overtaken by them. They found advantages of this and before you know it they are spoiled. Now, I'm not saying they're spoiled and bad people. I'm just saying that women are treated better and actually have it easier now than men.
To go along with this, if a man says "Who wants me?" no woman would respond. However, if a woman were to say "Who wants me?" They would most likely get a crowd. A woman can get a man with no problem. A man has to actually work for it.
Another thing, women seem to get away with court cases easier. For example, if a woman was to assault a man, their charge would be much lower than if the man assaulted the woman, no matter how injured the man was. There's a lot of sayings for women: "Ladies first." and "Don't hit a lady." and the second phrase pisses me off. I don't know why. I'm not sexist, I promise.
In my eyes, saying "You can't hit a woman" is just madness! It's like saying the woman can threaten you, tease you, make you hate them, even hit you to get you to hit them, and then it seems like it's 10x worse if you hit them. Yet they can handle going through labor and have more pain tolerance than men, why should it be told like that? I'd rather you not hit anybody.
Basically, women have it easy. They can mooch off people easily. They can live easy. Tell me how many homeless women you see in America compared to homeless men.
Things like "the women" rebelling in the 1900s and overstepping their rights and women being able to simply ask for a relationship to get one, which is just untrue. Most celeberties could probably do the same thing, no matter gender, but that doesn't go for everyone. The differences between men and women on an individual scale is negligable compared to the difference between most people.
No, I was saying there was never at one point in time an equal balance. The rebel part was to say that they had such a bad balance, and now they have a too high balance, perhaps spoiled. I don't think it will ever be balanced.

That's why I said "mostly". I also disagreed a lot with those things.
Equality is hard to achieve, but women are still worse of than men. Social rules differ between the sexes, and while I can't say it's harder to be a womn based on how you interact with others, I can say that they still have lower wages and are unfairly treated more than men. Looking at some official statistics of wage differences between the sexes here in Sweden reveals that women have lower average pay in every single field of work, and this is considered one of the more equal countries. It differs by a few tenths of a percent to a massive difference of more than ten in construction work. Women are not more privileged than men.
I am basing it off of America, my knowledge of women being treated elsewhere has not been taught or really even thought of when they taught me the hardships women went through. Only for America oddly.
Basically, women have it easy. They can mooch off people easily. They can live easy. Tell me how many homeless women you see in America compared to homeless men.
How many women have held the office of President of the United States of America?
I'm friends with men and women, and personally, I don't find them to be two unsimilar. Girls are easy to understand when you take their different emotional patterns into account... of course, it helps to find one without those.

You think that the human gender dymorphism for psychophysiology has developed moreso within the last 3000 years? That time period would be difficult to elict any sort of evolutionary or adaptational change.
For what little mental difference there are exist in subtle quantities.
The arearesponsible for problem-solving and decision-making, and the limbic cortex, responsible for regulating emotions are larger in women.
For men, the area dealing with spatial perception and social situations are larger.
What could this mean? Probably nothing. The size of the lobes have no noticeable relationship to the behavior of men and women, beyond anecdotal evidence.
The most likely different is sociological. It is a product of what you expect of a person.
Take the self esteem of a badly abused child. It is lower. By telling someone from the start of their life what they're expected to be, they will take it to heart.
We adorn the rooms of girls with pink, give them fashionable barbie dolls and toy ovens.
Boys get baseball bats and construction sets.

There is indeed a double standard. But it's on both sides. Humans are more inclined to notice negativity, and thus a person of a gender is going to notice the double standards against them.
There are still many shortcomings as a woman.
This does not mean that there should be more shortcomings for men. Responding by having a bias toward women in other situations is not a response that will incite equality.
Pitting people against each other over relatively superficial, biological phenotypic differences is pointless.
There's a lot of sayings for women: "Ladies first." and "Don't hit a lady." and the second phrase pisses me off. I don't know why. I'm not sexist, I promise.
In actuality, those two phrases are elements of chivalry. Chivalry is often interpreted as sexist against women.
What should be done is to treat all people with that courtesy.
Well, according to that, 35% of males who are a member of a household with children are homeless while 65% of females of the same are homeless. However, 67.5% of single males are homeless as compared to 32.5% of single females. So it is more or less the same, though males take up more of the number of people who are homeless.
However, that source is 5 years old so it could have changed since then
People who think women are more complicated than men haven't read Heidegger.
But seriously, though there are differences between the genders, almost all of the psychological or social differences that people point out are social conventions, not biologically determined.

I tend to find that a whole lot of girls at my school don't have a sense of sarcasm.
The girls at my school are just as shallow as a rock and completely oblivious to anything around them that doesn't involve popularity contests or fashion.

Not sure if this is related though.

3- The above poster is mostly correct.
Not sure I understand what you mean there. What post has generalizations and half truths, the OP? Because I was refering to the other guy.

I don't think women are complicated at all. I just think they think way too fast all the time.
I'm finally back. See profile for details.
How many women have held the office of President of the United States of America?
Such a bold opening statement!
Equality is always something that you can achieve, and it is something that you should try to achieve.

About the same amount, I'd imagine. I haven't found a statistics study of the gender of homeless people.
Anecdotal evidence has no merit.

Great job finding that!

Somehow, I sense a great amount of sarcasm coming from you.
