But if one isn't Christian and is another religion that worships other god(s), then we can't say everyone goes to heaven. A heaven may not exist according to their religion.
But that's just if you're another religion. *sips tea*

General Off Topic is not your personal army. We're more like jesters with issues about who we preform for.
What is up with these people saying death is "sleeping" or your "oncuncious."
My religion you go to Heaven.
To some people when you DIE you DIE.Which is to almost everybody.
Other religions say other things.
My one question to aetheists.... What have you got to loose? I mean if God's not real all right but if he is....? You want to go to Hell if he is? I mean really you literally don't have anything to loose and everything to gain.

If you cannot open yourself up to the suggestions of others, then I would kindly ask that you refrain from engaging in this sort of discussion. It's highly counter-productive and can only end badly. This is an interesting topic and I'd rather we don't spoil it.
That being said, how do you believe human beings go from their bodies to heaven, seeing as even through all our exploration outside earth we haven't found a trace of it?
Do not wallow do not stall
Time waits for none at all
Your allowance may crawl,
It may fly or even vanish
But none will seem more lavished
Than time lost to all.
When you die all your memories die with you, you won't even know you were ever a live, it will be like before you were born.
Your personality (often mistaken for a soul) and your memories are all stored in your brain, and when your brain dies they get lost forever.
Who said anything about a soul? What is this religious mumbo jumbo. Up to this point you've merely stated the obvious and now you've brought mythology into the picture.
It would be... if you actually believed that nonsense. Have you ever wondered why people believe in souls despite the fact that they openly admit "It's so confusing." and have no factual evidence to back it up?

All our exploration? Pish, posh! We have barely got a satellite out of the solar system! I personally as a Christian don't think it's a physical place but a mental place that is in the deepest of your mind.

But if it's in our minds, shouldn't there still be mental activity even after "death", if that were the case?
Also by exploration I didn't necessarily mean being there physically, I was also referring to what we observe with today's telescopes.

If "God" is real and is petty enough to send me to Hell for simply not believing in something that has no clear evidence... then yes. Take me to hell. A God that fits that description is not worthy of my praise. How could an omnipotent (all knowing) being not understand my perspective and punish me for it? That's impossible.
People who say that God is all knowing and forgiving but then insist that non-believers go to Hell make me laugh. It's a complete contradiction.
I'm familiar with the scope of the visible universe, and I wouldn't assume we've seen all of that even, but don't you think that for our souls, if we have any, would have to travel to somewhere we haven't seen yet, which would be really really far away?
What is heaven, anyway?

This is a mystery that may stay a mystery for a long time. There are numerous possibilities of how one could perceive the afterlife, and going in to study these possibilities will not serve much benefit. But, I am confused just like any other human being.
My real question, though, is not what happens after we die--but why and how we were born into this world with consciousness and thought that is controlled by the universe.. What should we call that energy that gives us life and gives us our supreme consciousness?

Funny, the only thing I was taught growing up was that those who had a received a full and real testimony of Christ or God and then denied it, went to hell. Not the disbelievers. There are so many people on this earth who don't even have the opportunity to hear of the Christian God. So are they all going to hell?
I'm sorry, but anyone that believes that the non-believer will go to hell is an idiot.
I find the whole religion thing to be ******** and you are a great example as to why.
You only follow this religion because you think you have something to gain from it (heaven). If God is such a shallow **** as to send you to hell despite being a good person, yet let someone in heaven who only worshipped him out of fear, then honestly I'd rather take my chances in hell because your god sounds more like the devil to me.
I don't "fear" God like you suggest, but like you would "fear" your parents when you were a kid. I love God but I don't want to follow the religious crap that other Christians fall into as I find it hypocritical that The Church says you have to go to The Church. I love God, the God that DOES NOT make you do a list of chores, give your money, and make you follow some absolute bullcrap rules to make you fear them. Religion is not God in my eyes.
Have you ever wondered what happens after you die?
Do you know/remember what it was like before your brain was able to consummate its thoughts and memories? No? Death's ostensibly the same thing. It took 14 billion years before you came into existence, what difference is the eons after your passing going to make?
My one question to aetheists.... What have you got to loose? I mean if God's not real all right but if he is....? You want to go to Hell if he is? I mean really you literally don't have anything to loose and everything to gain.
We're atheists for a reason. We can't pretend to believe and then expect to actually go to Heaven.

I'd be alright with this.
That's my two cents too.
Yes. Everyone has. You might as well have asked "Have you ever pooped?"
Okay.
Yes. Go on.
It's gone.
It ceases to exist.
Dead people don't know anything. They're dead.
Creepier than what? You haven't said anything creepy yet.

I think this post amounts to approximately $1.45. I'll expect a check in the mail.

It's not something you waste time on really. I pray 5 secs a day and rarely go to church but I'm saved [citation needed :tongue.gif:].

Something that Christian people believe is the holy grounds, and where they'll be taken if they worship God and follow the commandments and stuff.
In other religions, it's referred to as, "paradise", which technically are referred to as the same thing.
