Do I have some sort of form of OCD? I have this problem with keeping materialistic things in perfect condition. Let's say I purchase a new Laptop, and in my mind, the Laptop is "perfect", until I end up scratching the screen or something happens to it. Then I feel like it's completely lost its value and I feel the need to go out and buy a new one to get back that feeling of 'perfect condition'. Does any of this make sense?
Yup. That's OCD alright. There are tons of things to be OCD about. Everyone has their specific things. I for one an extremely OCD with alignment of objects, and chest organization in Minecraft. There are other minor things, but they don't usually show too much.
Edit: There's also lots of different ways to be OCD as well.

Ahh, really? Damn. Thanks for confirming my suspicions. Sigh, why do I have so many mental ailments? It sucks being born with so many psychological issues like these. And yeah, I've never had anything in particular with alignment, but I definitely like when everything is smooth and organized.. It's just a shitty condition.

Im no doctor, and Im not certified in anyway, but neither is anyone else in this thread and I dont think OP has OCD.
My brother had some bad OCD, and his particular tick came out in the form of having to wash his hands until they were raw and bleeding.
Not to say this compasses all OCD, but usually OCD is specified by nervous ticks, and fear of one thing or another (germs, mistakes), having to do X thing X amount of times and anxiety. People often confuse "Everything must be exact and perfect for me!" as OCD when its usually not. Everyone has some need for cleanliness and perfection. But unless OP has other ticks or whatnot, I sincerely doubt it.

That's not OCD. OCD would be like washing your hand a few hours every day or feeling the need to touch the entirety of something whenever you touch it. I used to have it. It can be debilitating and take hours out of your day, every day.

Unless you've actually been diagnosed by a doctor, I'm calling bull.

I sort of do that, but not the raw and bleeding part. I'll just randomly wash my hands every time I pass by a sink or I'll even go out of my way to do it (usually when I'm just home). Usually in these cases I'll just rinse my fingertips and not dry the... It's weird. I barely notice it myself anymore but other people notice when I do it and make jokes about it

does having a need to touch certain materials and do stuff a certain amount of times equal having OCD?
It can, but that doesn't mean it is. It depends on how extreme it gets.
I fail to understand why the fact that it's OCD or not really matters all that much. It doesn't change anything.
eh, I was just told by the doc once that Tourettes could include OCD to some extent. I mean, I have tendencies but it doesn't really matter too much whatever it is
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder characterized by intrusive thoughts that produce uneasiness, apprehension, fear, or worry; by repetitive behaviors aimed at reducing the associated anxiety; or by a combination of such obsessions and compulsions.
The acts of those who have OCD may appear paranoid and potentially psychotic.
However, OCD sufferers generally recognize their obsessions and compulsions as irrational and may become further distressed by this realization.
Obsessions are thoughts that recur and persist despite efforts to ignore or confront them. People with OCD frequently perform tasks, or compulsions, to seek relief from obsession-related anxiety. Within and among individuals, the initial obsessions, or intrusive thoughts, vary in their clarity and vividness. A relatively vague obsession could involve a general sense of disarray or tension accompanied by a belief that life cannot proceed as normal while the imbalance remains. A more intense obsession could be a preoccupation with the thought or image of someone close to them dying or intrusions related to "relationship rightness." Other obsessions concern the possibility that someone or something other than oneself—such as God, the Devil, or disease—will harm either the person with OCD or the people or things that the person cares about. Other individuals with OCD may experience the sensation of invisible protrusions emanating from their bodies, or have the feeling that inanimate objects are ensouled.
So, no you probably have a minor case of it. Like my mother always tells me, "We all have a little bit of everything, eh? Some people just show it more than others."

Not always, but if done obsessively for long periods of time it can.
