Read this knowing that I am not trying to be racist to the Qebecois, I am just wondering if they belong in Canada. Please don't put un-educated comments here (I don't want some kid from America (for example) posting here who only skimmed through the into on a Wikipedia article on Canada-Quebec relations).
Does Quebec as a province do anything for Canada? Should they be kicked out?
As far as I -an Albertan- know:
They recieve over 7 billion Canadian dollars (Canadian dollars are virtually the same as American dollars)per year from the richer provinces in the form of eqalization payments
Of the 6 provinces getting payments, Quebec gets well over half of all the money
They are racist towards the rest of Canada. They even passed a law before that banned any languages that weren't French.
They don't accept the same constitution.
They actively try to culturally seperate themselves from Anglo-Canada.
I haven't ever heard of any product coming from Quebec.
It's their opinion whether or not they want to secede. They can decide what they want to, also. Quebec is the capital city of the province.
Why should it be Quebec's decicion, maybe the rest of Canada wants them gone. Also, Quebec is a province and Quebec City is the capital of Quebec (like New York City, New York)

If the rest of Canada wanted them gone, they would have said or done something by now.
Changed my statement again. I cannot think tonight.
you should not say bat things about us, people from quebec, you should say bad things about the gouvernment.
there is no law that bannish other language, do you know that there is more people that talk english in montreal then people that talk french.
We are not trying to seperated ourselves from the anglo-canadian, we are trying to keep the french language alive, english is taking over the country
''I haven't ever heard of any product coming from Quebec.''...do you know ''Hydroquebec, its a compagny that use the water to make electricity its called Hydropower :sleep.gif:
We actually produce most of the electricity...
If we seperated ourselves from the canada, it would be the worst thing that can happen to the canada and for us
THERE WAS A LAW, not there is a law, its was in the past, not in the present, and the quebec accept any language, i know people who talk spanish, italian, english, etc...

It was recent, it is a recent example of Quebec trying to separate itself in an un-constitutional manner.

I can understand why you would want to preserve your culture, but it is being done and trying to be done in all the wrong ways. Also, English is "taking over" he country because it is the dominant language of he motherland that once ruled us.

One thing you listed. And produce most of the electricity for who? Your own Province?

This I can agree with. Would be kinda funny to have Canada split into two pieces.

the province of quebec was always a french country and we want to make it stay that way, i dont want my kids to be teached by english teacher, what is wrong with that.

I'm sorry to burst your bubble, having your specific french culture is all fine and dandy, but having a province that only knows French is not exactly great for our country. That's just leading down the road to internalization and the principal being argued that you should secede.
''English is "taking over" he country because it is the dominant language of he motherland that once ruled us.''
who were there before us? the ''amérindien'' they did not talk english, they talked there own language we then came, us, the french and the people from the english country camed after us so english was not the motherland language

I was talking about how the Bristish controlled Canada (mostly anyways) until we became our own country. Technically I was wrong to say motherland language unless I mentioned that. Why haven't you rebutted the other points I made, and only that one?
And you say that I don't understand, the go ahead, explain how I "dont understand".
im done arguing, think what you want, quebec is fine and don't need to seperated or other sh** like that, im sorry if my english is not good enough to correctly explain you what im trying to say but there is no reason to hate us, we peacefully stay in our country and mind our own business.Im going to sleep

oh and british controlled us for like 2 or 3 years only

No hating from me, just debating. Seriously though, stop saying you are a country it just makes you look silly.

The fact is the law sort of expressed how Quebecois feel.
And to be honest, I fecking hated Quebec when I was there. One douchebag refused to speak english simply because he thought I couldn't speak french. You might wonder "how can I know that". well, he was talking to his co-worker at the time and when I came up to the till he basically said "ahh another english-speaking moron, too bad I don't speak english " sarcastically.
After a bit of back and forth where he continued to turn to his colleague and make snide remarks about me, I decided I'd had enough.
I said "Puis-je parler à un superviseur".
he turned white as a ****ing ghost. It was awesome.
I'd have discounted that as an isolated incident if I hadn't had similar experiences damn near everywhere else I went there. Attitude and a general disdain that I would have the audacity to primarily speak the "wrong" one of this country's official languages.
The primary issue here is that the referendums were actually pretty close. That, and they didn't actually want to separate, they wanted to separate but they still wanted an umbilical link to the Federal Treasury.

What does the US have to do with Quebec seceding? They want their own separate country.
I know. I wasn't thinking. I changed it.
