For the frickin' first time in around 20 years, my school district shut down all schools for Friday. Just got the call. Heavy damage from the winds apparently. It just moved in this morning. So take THAT. The reason we've never gotten a day off is because of all the snowplows we've got, since we're in Utah. But we aren't ready for winds, so the damage was too much. And the power was out at some of the schools today.
My school got set on fire one time. Burned down the whole shop and arts wing, cost 8 million to repair the damage.
Also, I live in Canada. I grew up in Northern BC. The only time I didn't have to go was when it was literally too cold for the buses to start their engines. They wouldn't close the school though; you only got out of it if taking the bus was your only way to school.
We had "inside days" where no one was allowed outside because it was too cold, but school was never cancelled.
I don't like being "that guy", but for future reference, please don't post threads like these. Although this might be a good discussion topic for your IRL friends, it doesn't work so well on a forum full of strangers.
1. We don't know what Davis School District is.
2. We are not affected by your school being out, so there is no way for us to relate to it.
3. This is such a trivial issue that there is little to no discussion value anyways.
Kid, you must really hate school.
But its general off topic. :unsure.gif:
