The only problem I have with modern views on music is how people still can't accept electronic music as a valid form of art. Such ****ing ********. I'm sick of hearing about how techno artists are such "talentless hacks".
Anyone who believes that, go ahead and write a better song than this. THEN come back to me.
I'm not saying I can. Other Bands can. In my opinion it would take longer to learn how to play a guitar, drums, bass, or sing then to buy some sound equipment, learn how to use, then arrange different noises in a pattern that sounds pleasing.

So in other words you aren't interested in music, but in how long it took to compose. If Mozart composed his pieces by writing them with his toes, would it make them any better or less "corrupt"?

Thats not necessarily what i'm getting at. What it sounds like is everyones opinion, whether they like it or not. People like Katy Perry because her voice is pretty. I like Metal, punk, and rock because it gets me pumped. What I do not like about rap and pop is that people think it is superior to everything, and these people make so much more money with there "talent" then bands, even though theres more computers involved then there voice. Rap can be different. I can respect freestyle rap without the bitches and hoes bits, because I could never start rhyming off the bat.

Personally, I do not believe in disliking ANY music. This is simply because a possibility always remains that an artist/genre that makes "bad" music could have made or will make a "good" song.
Any one person could hate a genre -- let's say dubstep -- now being a fairly new genre some may not enjoy it, but now that it has spread and numerous artists and sub-genre's have appeared, the genre itself has now evolved and there is an even greater chance for someone to find what they like.
If you could take the time to locate a song that you enjoy, in the genre you thought you hated, you will have many surprises.
Flexibility and a drive to enjoy what you are given when it comes to music is a great trait to have.

Quite. I enjoy this post.

That's still getting a little too political with music. You shouldn't blame pop and rap and etc because its metonym fanbases are annoying.

Hey cool! Looks like the guys in MoM actually do play instruments! and they're really good at it.
So does that suddenly make the previous song better somehow? But that can't be true because nothing has changed about it between then and now.
Edit: I just noticed the "longer to learn how to play a guitar, drums, bass, or sing then to buy some sound equipment, learn how to use," part of the quote.
What makes you think that it's harder to learn a few nice sounding chords on guitar than it is to do what these guys did and learn to use their equipment and develop a completely original sound despite how easy it is to end up sounding like every other electronic group ever?
Since people are posting some vids I think I shall too.
Deep Beat; Not an actual genre, I think, but it has a jazzy-electric feel, and some songs from this "genre" are mostly instrumentals from rap and hip hop songs. Sometimes the music underneath the music can be good or even better.

The whole point of music is to make people feel good. Banging pans together can be music as long as it makes people happy. It's not the bands I hold grudges against, it's the arrogant, ignorant, one-sided people that don't apreciate other music.

I couldn't agree more. People should not have a literal one-track mind.
Which is the very reason I choose to culture myself with all types of music, more often these days I'm listening to classical, some of the newer alternative artists, and a lot of dubstep (which is more addicting than you might think.)

I just can't like one genre like I used to.
And now some Vivaldi for your listening pleasure.
I don't listen to classical, but it's the roots of everything, especially Metal. So it's near the top of music I respect.

I respect all opinions on music. I don't however appreciate when someone goes out of their way to try and tell my my favourite band/s are shithouse. It's totally ignorant and unnecessary.

Certainly, but with me and classical I can't help but invest emotion into the music subconsciously. I feel a scene unfold within my mind . . . Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 is a great example of that.
Such an adventurous sound is always a delight for me.
That rarely happens in the music of today, but when it does, I know I'm listening to a good song.

Well I don't see what's so bad about modern artists like Dj's and electronic music producers. If your a Dj and your popular, it means you have talent. Today's music isn't bad it just different, and about rap/hip hop, listen to this song: 1979 - Hilltop Hoods, It explains a lot. Thanks for listening to my rave.
Thesis: This generations music has been corrupted by talentless actors. The songs are all about the same thing(Especially rap),
This would be an over-generalization. Rap isn't even close at all to being in my top 5 genres, however, to say it's all the same is just like me saying that all modern rock is the same, or all pop. Mainstream rap is all the same and so is modern rock. It's just what's in style, but underneath the mainstream is a whole diverse land of both rap and modern rock.
and contain no actual music.
Really? Because I thought music was combining instruments and vocals to create pieces of music, I didn't know music was some genres of music noise, but not others.
There are no instruments and just drum machines and auto-tune.
Again an over-generalization. Besides, most rap includes a lot of bass, drums, and depending on the artist guitars and I've even seen brass instruments and violins and things, which makes for an amazing sound.
I agree with peoples taste in music, but my opinion is most modern rock is good. Examples would be A Day To Remember, Four Year Strong, Sum-41 etc.
And you act like your opinion is definite word, no arguments, slightly hypocritical with everything else you've said.
Also A Day to Remember is metal and Sum 41 is punk, Four Year Strong is a band I've never heard.
Yes I like my music with some screams, that is my opinion.
Some people like music with auto-tune, "drum machines", and fast beat vocals. That is their opinion.
The whole point of music is to make people feel good. Banging pans together can be music as long as it makes people happy.
This contradicts everything else you've been saying about how rap isn't music and so on.
It's not the bands I hold grudges against, it's the arrogant, ignorant, one-sided people that don't apreciate other music.
Here's what I do when it comes to popular contemporary music: Firstly, I don't listen to it. Secondly, I stop giving a **** about it. I don't really like that you're basically saying all contemporary music is drum-machines and auto-tune, either. I agree that stuff is crap, but I just ignore it. There is still tons of good music out there being produced in this time period that is good. By actual bands playing actual instruments even.
I completely agree with the OP. anything on the "top charts" is utterly ******** and a horrible excuse for music. The OP is correct and It makes me angry when I think about the crap music that everyone listens to these days. The "top 10" songs in iTunes stire are ****ing horrible yet everyone chooses to download the stuff and listen to it ecause they think it's cool, not necessarily because they enjoy it. My entire iTunes library consists of metal, rock, emo, an indie rock music, some great bands I'm listening to at the moment are Of Mice And Men, We Came As Romans, Sleeping With Sirens and Atreyu. **** modern pop culture.

It's your opinion and god knows your opinion is definite.
Ever think that they may actually like that music, and just because you think it's crap it doesn't make it crap? You may think the top charts - not "top charts" - is ********, but other people don't, deal with it. Take your pathetic excuse for typing and egotistical self and learn to just ignore it.
