I love halloween, its the only time were everyone can fulfill their desire to dress up in a ridiculous fashion, eat sugary substances, and entertain their minds with horror & malevolence.

There is no point, all Powdered Toast Man will do is say "Hur dur, I never said you had to stop". Even though the title said to boycott it.
The title isn't a command hur-dur. Hell, I don't give a **** what you think or do. I'm sharing my opinion about why I boycott Halloween. I suppose the title of the thread could be "I Boycott Halloween" but the I is implied in the post. Try honing your critical thinking skills a little before you jump to conclusions.
To be honest, I don't give a **** about trick or treating. It's not a common practice where I live. All I care about is having some reason to party. And to carve pumpkins maybe.
Yes, I still carve pumpkins.
That's part of my point in the OP. Why have silly holidays like Halloween when we can just have a designated day for parties every month? I don't expect anyone to actually do it... but that method seems far more logical to me.

People like to have a reason to party in that partying case. Going out and doing the same-ol' stuff every day gets dull. When you have themes on certain days, it keeps things more lively. And if there are events (like, for instance, there are costume contests and pumpkin-flavored things in many bars around where I live) going on, then people have more fun than just doing the usual.
I love Halloween. Putting up scary **** in my yard is so much fun. Hell, we don't even get trick-or-treaters anymore, but I'm still going to put up the decorations. Even if we don't get trick or treaters, people on my street and driving by my house will still be able to see them.
I like celebrating it the old fashion way. What ever happened to sacrificing your livestock for the survival of your harvest? or just warding off evil?
Christmas sucks. It's just as silly as valentines day... a gimmick to get us all to buy gifts. Down with Christmas and other pointless holidays. I stopped buying gifts when I was 12. Instead I propose we all celebrate the first of every month. It's an excuse to throw a party and occurs approximately every 30 days. Also these pseudo-holidays won't discriminate based on age. Everyone can enjoy the joy of Primero Día.

That's how I always see it done in practice among adults. Halloween is a designated day to have a party. Get friends, drink alcohol, eat candy. The only difference I see from other parties is a bit of extra candy, and a tendency to be costume parties. I don't see what advantage there would be to moving it a day over and stripping it of its current nature which is, in fact, religious in origin as you wondered aloud on an earlier page. I don't see how it's logical to take recognized party days and remove them in favor of nondescript party days at different times. Unless maybe you don't want the themes associated with all these holidays.
I'd rather Halloween stay celebrated though, as there is a sale on candy afterwards. I think I may just have my dental work done in time to enjoy some.

What's the fun in that? First of all, most holidays are tradition, second of all, what would the themes be for the beginning of the month parties? It would be so bland. And really? Christmas is pointless? I dare you to walk into a church and yell that out loud.

Btw, about you being 12, your probably 13.
You know, he just replaced Halloween with Christmas to get another reaction. Read the OP then his post.

I think the monthly celebration is a great idea. Sort of a 'I lived to see another month' party. A real celebration of life.
I've never celebrated Halloween, so I don't know what I'm missing out on. The only 'holiday' I put any effort into is ANZAC day. A day that actually holds some importance.
What about the adult tradition where we sit around and talk about how pointless the holiday is? Oh right, that's not a tradition. Nevermind.
All at the same time!
