So, obvious badly-worded question is obvious. The title. How do you 'know' your friends? More specifically, what kind of friends do you have? In real life? Online? Both?
Personally, I don't really have any in real life friends. Every 'friend' I've ever had, has been online. Although that may be sad, pathetic, and just weird...I don't see anything wrong with it. The people around my area don't like me that much, make fun of me, and are just really mean. The people I meet on the internet, are pretty nice, and not complete assholes.
So, what kind of friends do you have and/or socialize with?
The People you meet online are nice?
That's news to me.
Anyway, I have way more friends IRL
(about 8, everyone else is an ass)
I don't talk to my online friends anymore.
I don't have that many IRL friends, but the ones a do are cool. The rest for some reason hate me ( :dry.gif: ), so i dont have that many online friends either :L
I"m Stealthier than night itself. The guild will always guide my way, and I will always follow. You will not see me, but I will see you, And I will get you when you are least expecting it.
I have little to no online friends. Meet, talk a little, never say hi again. In real life, most of my friends are insane. Literally, insane. My friend Mitchell is constantly asking out a girl pretending that they're dating, and "breaking up with her". The truly insane thing though, is that he doesn't actually like her, and to be honest, it's pretty funny to watch him scream "COOPERATE WITH ME, BABE!" whenever she says that she doesn't want to go out with him. He considers himself a real-life troll, using the term "Want me to go troll X?" And... that's only one example.
I only have one friend in real life, who is my cousin. Everyone else is either acquaintances, or people I know well online through various means. (forums, Steam, etc)
I don't consider someone a real friend until I know them in IRL.
Online is just too limited to really get to know someone. Many of you may be cool people irl, but this is all just text on a computer screen to me, devoid of any real humanity.

I sometimes think about that, it's just text. Any of you could be anyone. For all I know, this forum could be filled with rapists and pedophiles. Although, I find it easier to socialize on the internet nevertheless.

I usually don't have friends online there are a couple of people that I actually met had beers with and are my friends now. But other than that all offline friends.

Online is a gateway to making a friend, but for me someone is just an acquaintance until I meet them irl.

I have many 'friends' but not all of them are close. I probably have about nine really best friends and then the rest of them, I just know them as friends, we say hi and bye, joke around in class and everything, but they would not be my first choices to go to if I wanted to talk about something or needed some friend support. In addition to that, I'm usually quiet in class, unless I feel the need to speak up, because I don't like upsetting teachers but I don't like sucking up either. I used to be one of those uber quiet people that never made friends with anyone, but I think it was a result of a poor school environment previous to my present one. Now my mouth's so sharp that my mom says she can't keep up with me XD
Online...would not be my first choice of friends. They are my 'friends' in the same sense as the hello, buh-bye relationship, but I wouldn't feel right spilling out a problem if I had one.....or personal information, especially personal information....
No offense to anyone, but I don't consider anyone I meet online to be a "friend". It's just not wise. One either has "offline friends", "offline friends you talk to online", or "strangers you talk to online".

On the other side: The people I meet online aren't cynical assholes like the most in real life. They are more.. prudent.
A close group of friends IRL & a few random people I know through the net.
There all good friends in my mind..
