I will be going to gamestop soon and will probaly buy Dead Island. I was wondering if kids under 17 can buy rated M games in California. A couple months ago I heard of a law that would let it happen and didnt hear of it again. I am only 13 and if I try to buy it will the Gamestop employees ask for a parent or will just give me the game.
Sometimes even if you are 17 and old, they still ask for an ID if they can't tell how old you are, just so they can be on the safe side. So I doubt that you'll be able to get an 'M' rated game by yourself.

Heh, that happens to me. I'm over 20 and I still get asked for my ID when I buy M rated games.
Dam, I was gonna take your advice by being on the other side of the store while my uncle buys it, but one huge issue happened. DEAD ISLAND WAS SOLD OUT :angry.gif: :angry.gif: :angry.gif: :angry.gif: :angry.gif: :angry.gif:

I haven't bought games in stores for years. I think the last game I bought was GTA:SA and I remember getting carded for that (I had just turned 18 the year it came out).

Never attribute to malice what can adequately be explained by incompetence.
wow over in AUS M is 15+ and I don't think you get asked for ID to buy M rated games or need to have a parent.. BUT I could be wrong.. I haven't been 15 in 5 years so a lot could have have changed!
I have a (literally mentally retarded) adult neighbor that I ask to come with me to the game store then as long as he's around I can buy whatever M games I want.
