Trying to get games written for windows to work on a Linux machine is like trying to put a diaper on an incontinent buffalo. Sure, you might get it all done, but you'll certainly be left with a huge mess, and it's very time consuming.

I'm sure you can think of a way to guess someone's maturity that is faster, more accurate, and at least as easily accessible? This is why age requirements are useful. They sure as hell aren't going to be spot on for every person, but they're much better than actually interviewing a bunch of people.
Next time you complain, please take into account the context (18 year old age requirements for moderators) and what my sentence actually means.

Most age requirements in the real world (driving, drinking, etc.) are for purely biological reasons, not maturity reasons.
Driving should only be at a certain age due to height, drinking should only be at a certain age due to damage to a developing brain.
Maturity is irrelevant in most age requirements, and if it is (in the rare cases of "mature community, only 18+!!!!!!!"), then interviews are necessary, both for those above and below the requirement.
Let's not forget that we were talking about moderator age requirements, for which maturity is one of the most important attributes, and that I didn't even start this part of the topic.
The whole point is if you are filtering for maturity an age requirement is a very efficient way to do it.

I hear quite a few people were born during that year.
