I wouldn't try to live on.There's no point. Your just going to die in the end a slow and painful death. First the plants go. They all die then the herbivores die. Then the carnivores that eat the herbivores would die. Then all humans on Earth would starve. Starvation is one of the worst ways to die. You should just confess your sins, then kill your self before you starve.

I have decided as of late to be the reputation giver and the befriender. If you see that I gave you reputation and added you as a friend, you will know why. Everyone's my friend
Um, why do we have 8 minutes? It was take a few days at the least.
It takes approximately 8 minutes for the light from the sun to reach the Earth.
The sun would still glow for a while but without the pressure from fusion the sun would quickly shrink in size and resume fusion again as the temperature and pressure spiked, possibly with a corresponding out-gassing of its atmosphere due to the shock wave. In the end there is only one way to kill a star, you must deprive it of fusion conditions.
If you are a Battletech/Mechwarrior geek you may enjoy my Timberwolf/MADCAT model (the source of my avatar) (warning: image-heavy link target) I will often edit my posts after I have posted them in an attempt to improve their clarity (I value a few high quality posts over several low quality ones; the more lengthy the post, the more time it requires to edit) so you might want to wait for a while if this post is recent and refresh to see if anything has changed before replying to it.
Well, assuming it would just stop emitting heat (as the thread implies) We would probably have a chance. The only problem is is that all of humanity would have to work together before we freeze to death.
Sure—at a price. :smile.gif:

So basically if you take two light atoms like helium or hydrogen and push them together enough, they'll fuse and release a crapton of energy.
You heard that, green and red.
You didn't, but God does exist.
I would say goodbye to my family and confess my sins to God and go buy the worlds strongest heater and a lot of lightbulbs. lol
Must resist, urge to flame.
But it seems like this thread has turned into a scientific debate.

Or we could live in mega submarines deep underwater feeding off tubeworms.

This made me LOL in real life. I don't see why though, as it's probably the best choice on this thread.
