So I want to write things, but I want to keep them secret. Not because they should be hidden, but because I think it'd be interesting to try. I don't want to have to rewrite stuff, or use complex ciphers or codes.
So I found the Elian Script, a odd-looking alphabet that actually seems pretty easy to learn.
Eventually, once you get a little more comfortable with it, you can start stacking letters in words:
The inventor ended up writing like this:
It beats frequency analysis (some letters are used more than others) because there are many ways to write each letter. The only constant factors are the ratio of the lines to one another. So, there are many ways to write a word:
Those are all variations of the word "association".
What do you guys think? I mean, it looks fun to write in, and throws off nosy people!
It's using a different alphabet instead of actually encrypting the text. So they'll be even more confused. Once you start writing it, you'll get used to it, and it allows for more freedom, even vertical stacking of letters, and words.
I actually really like it, looks easy to learn and intresting And i could call it my second language to confuse people, might try it myself....
The artist said sometimes Asian people go up to her and ask her what kind of Asian language she is writing in. They're shocked to learn that she's writing in English/French!
People on the Internet, probably, but it's not like you're going to scan your writings and save them on your computer and make it open for hackers or upload them.
On topic:
Looks interesting.
Bookmarking the page so I have something to read about when bored.
Exactly my point. I can just picture using this to take notes in class :teehee:
Popular? What are the chances anyone you know will understand the Elian Script?
Slim to none, but on the off chance I write tons of secrets, and twitter the pictures of my handwritten Elian, and then the people on the internet read it, well, that would suck.
I'm not saying that would ever happen, but it just goes to show somebody knows ELIAN other than you.
Looks cool, however I prefer to use the following code, wich is simplier to learn:
So you know there is 26 letters in the english alphabet and lets say A is letter 1. To create the code, we make up a fraction corresponding to (number of current letter)/(number of previous letter). This gives us the following:
A => 1/26 = 0,038
B => 2/1 = 2
C => 3/2 = 1.5
D => 4/3 = 1.333
E => 5/4 = 1.25
F => 6/5 = 1.2
G => 7/6 = 1.166
H => 8/7 = 1.142
I => 9/8 = 1.125
J => 10/9 = 1.111
K => 11/10 = 1.1
L => 12/11 = 1.090
M => 13/12 = 1.083
N => 14/13 = 1.076
O => 15/14 = 1.071
P => 16/15 = 1.066
Q => 17/16 = 1.0625
R => 18/17 = 1.058
S => 19/18 = 1.055
T => 20/19 = 1.052
U => 21/20 = 1.05
V => 22/21 = 1.047
W => 23/22 = 1.045
X => 24/23 = 1.043
Y => 25/24 = 1.041
Z => 26/25 = 1.04
Basicly anything other than simple linework. A cross would work, as would a star or any symbol that is small and does not look like what you use anyway.
I'd probably use some sort of connected loop. Like a small hook, to make writing faster.

Things start out simple, like this:

Lol, wut?
Translation: I don't get it.

I think it would be easier to memorize, since you can come up with something that makes sense(to you).

Yeah, the only thing I would change would be the dots, they slow you down compared to the lines.
But change to what?
I'd probably use some sort of connected loop. Like a small hook, to make writing faster.
But if you want to learn that..i guess, go for it?
Practical, no. Kick-ass? HELL YEAH.
That is lookin' really freaking good.
