Who do you think would win if America and Great Britain had a war? This is mainly a poll type thread but feel free to discuss and give reasons why you think America/GB would win/loose. I personally think America would dominate GB.
We won a few hundred years ago, and we were not even a country yet, I think we would win round 2.
Though I don't think it would happen ever, we are like best buddies now.
Whose side would Australia be on? We're allies with both of them!
Counting on the USA does several Navy Excercises near Australia, of which include Aircraft Carriers with the capability to bomb a nation 24/7, I'd say they'd be inclined to side with America.
Great Britain obviously. They have "great" in the name. Now if the United States of America became "Great America" I think we'd have a shot. So if you're really concerned about homeland security you should write your state representatives today and ask them to change the name of this great nation to a more fitting name... a great name.

This is just stupid. America is far bigger than the UK and spends far more on its military, of course they would win.
I don't see why the hell you would pick the UK for such a question, especially considering we're allies.
Because srs poll is srs? Clearly the only option to pick is Britain. I don't even see another option.

We didn't win, we got pissy over paying some taxes, rebelled, they retaliated, and then got tired of it and went back to paying the enormous debt themselves. We also didn't win the War of 1812, which you left out. :tongue.gif:

The War of 1812 has been downgraded to "conflict". The United States of America doesn't fight wars. It has brief conflicts where indigenous peoples refuse our culture and need to be reeducated.
Why does the off-topic section have such ridiculous polls. They always disregard the "why" factor, and go straight to the what and ask the opinion about it.
In this example, the "what" is that the US and UK are at war. There is no why. You don't flesh out who is allies with whom. How did it start? etc. Clearly in order for such a conflict to take place the political and socioeconomic state of both nations would have to be bad, and the entire NATO alliance would have to break down. The reasons for this, I couldn't fathom, but they would have far reaching consequences, and in such a case it's impossible to know the military capabilities of any nation.
However, appeasing the hypothetical: Neither side would win. Everybody always loses in war, both sides lose countless casualties, and particularly today, Mutually Assured Destruction would be a certainty.
This is news to me.
A wizard army
Britain would obviously win

Super is copyrighted by Stan Lee. Perhaps Awesome? Awesome America! No... then our initials would be AA. Britain wins!
