erhh.. maybe if this was the WW2 veteran forums you'd have more luck, but you may notice this is the MINECRAFT forum.. we kind of like games more than violence generically speaking
Obviously we should burn our Tetris cartridges, for Google will corrupt them and mind-control us.
What's so bad about this? Can someone highlight the bad part?

Google decided to honor the beginning of a video game instead of honoring D-Day.
Ya know, you could have taken 10 seconds and skimmed the article at least.

"Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who could not hear the music."
I might sound inconsiderate here but if the majority of the world memorialised D-Day, then what's the harm in a search engine memorialising a popular game? D-Day got some pretty major coverage anyway. :unsure.gif:
Funny thing is, if they memorialized D-Day instead of Tetris, they probably would have been met with even more criticism, for not handling the situation as delicately as they could have, or some other ********.
Non-issue. Google consists of employee's from many nationalities. It's a world-wide entity, and honoring D-Day could have offended many peoples sensibilities. What sensibilities do they offend by honoring Tetris? It's rather apparent their honoring of Tetris was not meant to spit in the face of D-Day.
Hooray. The internet is apparently obliged to celebrate the millions of deaths of innocent Germans.

When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. I don't want your damn lemons! I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!

Google likes video games.

Your point?
Google can do whatever they want. Sure, they honor other countries' holidays, but why should you care?
When in my posts did I indicate that I cared? I was merely responding to a poorly thought out request.
Venit, quessit, induravit.
Hahaha, +1 for Google - well played.
Can they celebrate the anniversary of the release of pokemon red and blue next?
*there may or may not be cake
FFS, I am obviously wonderful.
